Big-John's Diary

Thanks Shaun. Everything is fine with our little one. It seemps he has a floppy larynx, some baby do have these and eventually grow out of it. Just a bit scary when it happened.
Now trying to get back into things, After the 3lb set back it's to keep pushing at it again. Hope you have done well on your weigh in bud.

Managed a 12 Mile walk today in total and also progressed onto the second eleiptical work out. I'm going to try and maintain the walking to at least 8 mile a day as there have been 4 Mile walks also. As for the eliptical I'll stay on No.2 for 2 weeks and then see where I go from there. Hopefully will smash the 280 barrier I'm facing at the moment.

Bring it on....

Feeling quite uninspired today to do anything. But I have stuck to my guns and done what I said I would. To do at least an 8 Mile Walk and the eliptical workout. I seem to be going up and down by the same 2lb all the time i.e down 2 lb then back up 2 lb. talk about fustration. Anyway I must hang in there as everything comes to those who wait.

Hey John, thought I'd drop by and show some support for a fellow Brit!

You're doing a great job juggling a job, a young family, weight loss and exercise so keep it up. The distances you're putting in are amazing and combined with the eliptical must be burning through the cals. Just a thought, could the small gains your noticing be muscle increase? Pushing yourself around an 8 or 12 mile walk must be making your leg muscles pretty strong.

Either way, keep up the top work mate!

Thanks Stan,

I didn't really think about that to be honest. When we had to rush the little one into hospital on Saturday I had only a bowl of cereal to last me all day. Got home at 1 am and kind of piged out. But nothing to badly i thought this may have been my body trying to store this as fat.
I must admit tho my legs are feeling stronger, not necesarily the walking as I do this at 4 miles at a time. But the eliptical certainly makes my legs work hard.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway I have finally gone through the 280 barrier !! Good bye to that 20+ stone register on the scales. It hasn't been nice seeing you and you've been a large pain in the but. Hello 14 stone it wont be too long before I see you I hope.

I've had a bit of a slack few days. Enjoying my 2 st (28lb) goal and enjoying time with the new family. I'm exactly 280 lb at the moment but today is the start of a new week and it's time to get back on track and get with it.
Need to find the motivation to take off the next 2 Stone (28lb) ready for my friends wedding.

Right a couple of things I've forgot to do. As I've just been a bit busy t the moment.
First of all I have updated my pics and they are on this post. These are taken at 20 stone (280 lb) which is at a 28 lb loss.

Also here is my measurement data:-

Loss Chest U/L Arm Stomach Hips U/R Thigh
Week - Start 0 53" 16" 52" 51" 29"
Week 1 -8lb 53" 16" 52" 51" 29"
Week 2 -3lb 52" 16" 52" 51" 28"
Week 3 -6lb 50.5" 15" 50.5" 50" 28"
Week 4 -5lb 49.5" 15" 50" 49.5" 28"
Week 5 -3lb 49.5" 15" 48.5" 49" 28"
Week 6 -3lb 49.5" 14" 48.5" 48.5" 28"

Don't worry about it Shaun. The couple of days I had not doing any exersize and didn't do good on the diet I put on 2lb. But time was well spent with the new family. I can't see any difference in my pics but I think I will start to notice when I get down to 266 (19 Stone).

Hope your injury gets better. Take it easy don't push anything too hard.

Big-John

Well I did it. I finally broke our scales at home. I have now invested in some newer scales that also measure body water, body fat %, bone mass and other things.

I have also worked out that for every 6lb I loose in weight then I will loose 1" on my waistline. So in theory.. lol.. I started at 308lb and on a 53" waistline and when I get down to my target of 196 lb I should be around a 34" waistline. At present I have lost 31lb and have lost around 5" on my waistline which is about right. Can't wait to hit the 266 lb mark.

I've been feeling quite un-motivated for the past 3 days but still havent stoped walking. Family life and my Job have been quite demanding even when I work weekends. But am determined to give it another good push tomorrow. I have next weekend off and the friday before so that means a long weekend break. will try to go out and do some more walking.

Another 3lb loss this week but it either seems to be coming off slower or I just don't feel the motivation / energy side of things at the moment. Need to keep pushing at this one for the next few weeks to keep on top by loosing 3lb a week. Hopefully still going to be 18 stone in mid September and I should feel an energy increase then and feel I want to be doing more exersize.

It will slow down, thats what I've been going through here and there. Less of your body to move means less calories burned.

Your'e not far from half way Shaun. Well done and keep going. I just think I need to make myself keep at it and things should turn out better. Could murder a KFC right now :drool5: but I'm off for a nice healthy walk.

I originally started out at 355, so I am pretty much half way there. :D I'm excited man. Setting my goal of 265 for october, and hopefully 245 by mid November.

I'll be happy when I get to half way aswell. Certainly a milestone in my life, although I am the lightest I have been in quite a while.
I think we are about the same height and same build as each other. Personally 196 lb target is only a guestimate based on BMI and other stuff. Although when I get around the 230 lb mark I will not necesarily be looking at the weight to loose but looking at my body and seeing if I need to loose more or tone up.
I have been saving up for some time and If I need it then I will have my excess apron skin taken away. The day I am at an ideal weight that I'm happy with have a flat chest, no man boobs :) and feel like I have lots of energy to play with my son will be one of the happiest days of my life. Also the wife is loving me loosing the weight aswell :blush5:.
