Hello and welcome to my online Diary. I started my diet Yesterday on 05/28 and weighed in at 290 LB's. I am a 6'2 pretty active male who enjoys Jogging, Fishing and Movies. I played college football and have remained active.

I work third shift (overnight shift) so dieting is really tough. Seems like I am always eating at the wrong part of the day. Seems like I never make good choices when I do eat.

That all stops now... It is time to take back control of my life. I am recording everything that I eat on my own, I am also recording my exercise as well on my own. I am not going to include this on my online journal.

I will include, how I am doing and how I am feeling, Also any progress. I am not going to weigh in for a full week. To Often when I diet I step on the scale everyday. If I dont lose weight every day I get discouraged.

Well I will write tommorrow about the same time to share my feelings. Right now I am excieted to have found a place like this. I am excited to make a better change, and I am motivated.

Good luck brother, from another Big Guy.. im 6'2 340.. so youre not alone in this... Im starting right there with you.... Keep us posted!!!

You can totally do it :) I have three jobs, and one of them is the overnight shift at 24Hour Fitness(don't ask me how a fat girl got that job, cuz I'm not quite sure myself.. lol :D ) and I know what ya mean- Its sooo hard to eat better when it seems like you don't have the time.. but so far so good for me! I'm looking forward to trackin your progress :)

You can totaly do this, recording everything in here is a great help as well. Its encouraging to know that there are so many people here supporting you along the way. I use to work a night shift, 10pm-7am and it was the pits totaly mucked up my body clock and my eating habbits, my hubby now does the 3pm-12am, and it mucks him around as well, so I know where your comming from. Once you get your self in a good routine of making the good choices you will be fine. Also if you plann ahead to take some healthy snacks to work with you so when you finish your not starving hungry and more likely to make the wrong choices.

Hello,
It is Tuesday afternoon / early evening. Still doing really well. I have kind of configured my workout / eating plan with my messed up hours. I am starting to bring "Dinner" with me to work, as I never used to eat much at work. That way I dont eat a lot right when I get home before bed.

So About 07:00 AM in the morning when I get home I have a bowl of Cereal then go to bed.

I wake up around 2-3 PM and have a very small meal. Like a Sandwich, or a Lean pocket, a Lean Cuisine maybe.

During the afternoon/evening I get 20-40 minutes of hard cardio in. I have a nature trail down from my house that is about 2 miles so I usually jog that, or go for a long bike ride.

In the evening I sit with my wife and have a nice sensible Dinner, usually around 6-7 PM

I then bring a sandwich, some lean chips and a water to work and wat around 4 AM.

So that is it.. that is my big plan. I want to get on the scale right now but I am resisting the urge. Being a big guy and being active I anticipate that weight will come of pretty fast.

Thats all for now, signing off...

Hey! That's wonderful that you've decided to make the change for good. Sometimes that's the hardest thing to do! I alwayhs have trouble committing myself but it's a wonderful thing. Though you are bound to have your tough times, it will all be worth it in the end! I know you can do it! Happy Losing!:D
