"Big Girls (You are Beautiful" <-- Mika's song: Nataliejo's Diary.

Today, Tomorrow, and the next day ...

What could possibly happened to brightened my future a little more than the dragging nonsense of the daily grind.

Well I am getting an incomplete on my class. I am going to take the final wed and pass in the extra credit paper than on an article having to do with microeconomics and very hard book to absorb, because it has such a wealth of information.

Second. The scale has put me down at 288.9 pounds, in lamens terms, this means on my doctors scale I will show up, or should at 289.9 pounds, but seeing as I will be dressed it will actually show me at 290.9 pounds, which is what I wanted to be walking into that office since over eight months. My ultimate goal was 285 for September when I was supposed to see him, but as you see if took me a little longer to lose weight and I decided to go in much later to get my check up.

so that was part of my day! lol :p:rolleyes:

Hi Natalie Jo

It is ALWAYS a delight to lose weight to a brand new low - and it is ALWAYS a SPECIAL delight to break a plateau.

Don't focus on the idea that it may not stay down. The fact is that in my experience a new low is a new low and even if it wiggles up - it does not plateau up there it seems to know how to get down to that newly established low point.

You have done really well to do this while studying so hard. You have had to focus on the books while still staying focused on your weight loss and healthy lifestyle project.

You have every right to feel very proud of yourself. My friend - I am very proud of you. I know what hard work it is.

I am certain that your doctor will be very impressed with your achievement. My doctor told me to try to lose weight many times. She got the biggest surprise when I went in and actually had lost some weight. I'll bet that your doctor will be the same. You know that your efforts have had an effect on the PCOS - the fact that you got your period proves it.

Take care
Love

Hello everyone,

Well I think I am nearing a good period in my life. I have decided my schooling is very important in my life. I am going to take management classes to see if I might be able to become a manager in a store of my choice...buisness administration will also follow.

I wanted to be a librarian, and still kind of do, but I would be happy just being a manager for a clothing store. I think I would enjoy the job, just would end up depending upon what clothing store.

Anyway ...
I have been working on some poetry, but I finished my paper for microeconomics. Which will take the place of my eval midterm...which I don't think I did very well in ...but I am studying for the final ...

I got an incomplete and am going to do all I can to get a good or passing grade in that class ..if I end up with lower than a C I am taking the class over. It will be heartrenching to me...because I down right despise it right now, but if thats what I have to do ...than so be it ...

anyway ...
I am getting ready for my two new classes this term ..Lit 210 which starts Wed Night and Macroeconomics with the same teacher (oh joy)
on Thursday night and thats the night I am taking the final for this past class ...so there you go ... If I knew there were such things as incompletes I would have tried them before ..because I have gotten depressed before and fallen behind ... I could have used that little offer to students who have problems or are having problems ...

Anyway ...
As far as Exercise .. I did not do it today or yesterday ...
did watch part of the world series last night
RED SOX! were kicking but... Colorado has no chance baby!
Go Sox!!!
anyway .. on to other news
This week is supposed to be so nice ..forties and fifties ..but sunny ..so I will be doing walking ..with exercising the brain to prepare for Thursday .. I want to be ready for it by Wed evening ... before I start Lit 210

well goodnight all

two very different fields - library science is a tough major, and most places would require a masters degree in it -but you'd be amazed how many places actually use librarians.

Retail management is a tough field -it's a lot of fun but the holidays are absolutely brutal - the hours are tough but it's got it's good moments...

Hi Natalie Jo

I am pleased that you believe that you are entering a good period of your life. That is a nice way to view life in general.

Mal is right that both these are very different fields - and will both have drawbacks - but they do both have potential to give you a very rewarding career. The fact that they are so different means that it will be difficult to switch between the two when you are further down the line.

Give careful consideration to which will suit you best in the long run. Think about what you enjoy and what you dislike. Maybe a careers advisor can help you choose. You want to spend the next thirty years of your life doing something that you enjoy.

Good luck in your forthcoming exam and I hope that the new classes go well.

As far as exercise is concerned - then I am sure that you will pick it up again on a more regular basis once these exams are out of the way. I hope that the weather turns out to be pleasant for the walk that you plan on this week - it will be a good opportunity to think and you know that it will help your weight loss / fighting PCOS goals which I know are important to you too.

Take care
Love

So proud of you girl, way to go. I can't wait to see what your dr. says. :jump:

Sounds like you are really getting your priorities lined up. Boy isn't it hard to decide what to do with the rest of your life. I am still struggling along with that one! But you will do great and you do have a little time to work it out.
I have always secretly wanted to be a librarian myself but never pursued it!

Hope you are having a good Monday. Talk to you later.

Glad to read you're in the midst of a good period in your life. Isn't that nice?

Librarians: Mal's right about that. You don't have to have a library sciecen degree to get an entry level job at a library, but in order to move up the ranks you pretty much have to have a graduate degree in the field.

More power to you! I'd murder someone if I ever had to work retail, I know I would. I'm just not nice and smiley enough for it. My facial expressions give way too much away.

What's this literature class? Is it a survey class? That's my forte. Well, actually, 19th century Russian literature and late 19th century-mid 20th century Southern American literature are my areas of exptertise.

Keep up the great work!

Hey Girlie!

Just popping in to see how you're doing!

My Masquerade Ball was great, the dress turned out fantastic, so thanks for the support. I'll post pics as soon as I get them.

All your hard work inspired me to post before and after pics. So thanks!

Happy Halloween! :pumpkin:

We just need to take it easy on the candy and pumpkin pie right?!:drool5:

Hey Natalie, looks like you're doing well.
Working in clothing stores can be a lot of fun, 'specially if you work in a nice one. I always enjoyed helping people find just the right outfit for whatever occasion they were looking for. Its like playing dress-up with a friend. Did you ever do that when you were little? I did! :D

Hey hun,

How's it all going? I've been busy with work so haven't had much time to check-in, but do tell me how goes your weight loss. :)

Hey Margaret!
I thought long and hard about what you said about careers...and I am doing better in classes and I would really like to be a librarian. But I need experience with library computers, instead of the card catalogues they have at the Somersworth Public library. They don't check you in or out with computers. Its all my stamps and hand written due dates I believe. I have volunteered there before and would enjoy volunteering at the Dover Public Library, so I think thats what I am going to do ..

thanks for the help ...

Its Lit 210, I need to start filling my degree up with 300 level lit courses, but anyway and the one I am taking this term is 20th century literature. I am reading poetry to short stories (very strange stories--- awesome reads) and a couple books .."Cider House rules" and "Joy luck Club." I'm lucking out.. I enjoy both authors and the poetry authors are awesome too ..the short stories are wicked ..
I love it all ... lol

Hi Natalie Jo

I am pleased that you are doing better in classes.

It is good that you have given some hard consideration to your career aspirations. You deserve something that you enjoy and find rewarding in the long term. As we know only too well with our weight battles - you often have to struggle and fight to be the person that you want to be.

I can understand the logic to you gaining work experience at a different library. Maybe one of your lecturers - or someone at your college library - would give you guidance on the nitty gritty of what would be useful for you to learn to make up this shortfall that you percieve exists in your experience to date.

Dont worry too much about your boyfriend. He fell in love with you - not some emaciated model. Why would he look elsewhere when you are the woman that he loves. Maybe he gets worried about you - especially when you go out to coffee bars!!!

You say that you think that you may have gained two or three pounds. It sounds like you are stressed so you may well be thinking that things are higher than they are! - the mind can play such tricks on us. Also remember your birthday celebration - even if you have gone up a bit - it always comes off straight away if you just regain your focus and get straight back to being good with your food and doing your exercise - particularly the aerobic stuff as oppose to the toning side of things.

Take care - I know that you can stay focused and make all your dreams come true.

Hey NatalieJo....

Ok, I'm glad you decided to stay away from retail management. I work in retail and I don't exactly like the holiday season- and retail management has to deal with many more issues than your regular sales associate. You have to think about sales, sales associates, operations, the financials, head office, and all sorts of crap.

So, really, I think the librarian route is way better. I think it'll be quite the experience :) And obviously you seem to want to go that route, so best of luck with that!!

Hey Mal,

Cool ..
My sister loved retail, but she went to grad school and is working toward a Masters In Art Therapy, but I think I have decided I would so much like to be a entry level librarian ...
