Well I have been exercising my average sized brain the week and weekend ..since the two hour walk .. I have not exercised physically ...

I am eating chocolate and I am going to be ready for this very important midterm and be prepared to be methodical in my test answers...but as I do my test I am going to dine on chocolate rasp milanos ..and a latte from dunkin donts ..mocha of course with skim milk and sweet n low ...

but I am ditching the diet to bring study time and test time more of a relaxing time ..and this is how I study ... not thinking of the waist line much ... just money and lots of it ...because I love my major ..but I also love the money it is going to bring me to be honest...so I am entering the physically dieting wonderful world tomorrow afternoon as completion of said test will be done ..
I am bringing a bottle of cold water and my latte ..hot latte ..its freaking freezing out ... with me to my test ... :rotflmao:

and I am bringing my bike ...to the bus station....and travel to South Station Boston and I will be taking the subway ..t and what not with the bike and back pack on back ..for at least forty five minutes to Alex's house ...

but you know what I am going to do after all this .. I am going to kick my shoes off ..get some water ..because I will be dehydrated and crazy ..after all the caffiene and studying .. I am just going to crash ..fully dressed onto Alex bed and just ..rest ..and someday I will emerge from his room ... happy once again ..knowing the world ..my world is put to right again ..

Natalie, it's always okay to take some time off for other priorities. If you can get some healthy snacks into there, all good. I'd suggest strawberry Twizzlers, they're low on the fat and good if you like licorice.
 
Hey Everyone! (waves)

Anyway so I ate a bag of Sausalito cookies ... yea I know ... bad ..very bad

but not going to do it again ... 1) not allowed around the house since doing that ...2) don't want to gain what I have lost so far.

Anyway ...so I had a bit of pasta this morning ..left over
and later had one bowl of cheerios...the bland brand...and two percent milk...
my bf doesn't carry around skim milk and doesnt like it ...

but last night I had this healthy burrito ... it had steak in it ..the rest was beans and vegetables and just a little sour cream and gauc ... it was from the real Mexican restuarant ..called ...Anna's Taqueria ...
it was suprisingly good for six dollars

anyway I shall talk to you all later

I'm with ya on the cookies :( I don't buy junk food cuz I KNOW that I'll eat it all if I do... But my sister came home with giant bags of halloween candy! AAARRRGGG! So, I've been dipping into the fat vat all night. Bad. Very bad.

Yes I do Rah. I am in a good size 24 and heading down to a size 22. Probably will be a temporary size 22 come February or March. Than in May/June I will be down to a size 20 ...which will be awesome, because I will be down to what I was when Alex met me. And he will be astonished! lol

Yea.. I was about ready to drop after that walk... going to stick with an hour walk during the day, but high intensity during the walk ..

read it on here some where...that actually incorporating intensity will burn calories... I was doing that ...but I am going to try and do that during my one hour walks ..the two hour walk was craziness ..especially in the cold ...my arthritis blew me away ...lol

and the junk food has been kicking my butt..

I know what you mean Jess! lol my bf has "hot fries" at his apt..which is where I am right now...they are small packages, but they contain a lot...and I ate one to my dismay .. I don't know where my mind went .. I just kept shoveling .. I am nervous around his roommates ..it might have been emotional eating .. hmm

So peeps, I am fretting, major!!

My diet has been blown for five days. Weigh in is the nineteenth of October and I think I have gained. They have no scale here. I cannot live with out a scale, it monitors me. I watch what makes me gain and what makes me not gain. Its like a guide and I don't have a guide all weekend. I think I am going to get a scale for their damn apartment. Just for Alex's room .. him and all his roommates are skinny rails, including the girl that lives here too ...

I really need to take this weight off, it is driving me nuts, but if I really wanted to take the weight off would I be eating and fretting!? ugh

help me out guys
what do I do to curb the eating of junk..
do I just do it and cut?
maybe I should bring healthy snacks over to his place. Triscuits, bagel chips, pita chips are all at my house. I lose weight there, I don't lose weight in his house I gain it. I have already gained four pounds from the last weekend I was here. I drink mainly tea and water. I bought poland spring for his pad..

I will just have to weight and see how the chips fall tomorrow morning when I weigh myself and tomorrow I am going for an hour walk or bike ride. I think I burn more calories by walking, but bike riding can be a good cardio work out ... eventually I want to work my way up to doing both during my day and working heavily on the homework.

always ..or maybe I will take that two hour walk I took last week ..hmm .. I need to figure this out.. I really hurt myself on that walk ..my arthritis killed that night and for the next few days after that ... I need to find some exercise and do it ...

Well, thats a total crock. You've already come this far Natalie. You know exactly what to do. Look at the success you've already had, and tell yourself it'll keep comin if you let it. I hate exercising, as well as a lot of people, and I don't have arthritis like you do, but ya can't let it stand in your way. Even if your at your bf's house, get your butt out the door and take a stroll. Doesn't have to be a long one, doesn't even hafta be strenuous. Use it to clear your head, use it to fight a craving, anything! Make him come with you... I'm kickin your butt here, chica, get to it!! :)

Don't give up, and walk away from the skinny peoples food. Think of it this way: You are showing tremendous strength by eating healthy, and in the process you are working to eliminate future and/or current health problems. They keep eating that crap- well- they'll be fat someday. Its a fact that the older you get, the less your body works for ya :rolleyes: show em whos boss here. You got this!

Hi Natalie Jo,

I hope that your arthritis is causing you less problems now. I had a yoga class today and the teacher said that she had pretty much sorted out her own arthritis with some well-chosen exercises. It may be worth you speaking to a yoga teacher about your arthritis and seeing if they can recommend any exercises to strengthen that part of your body.

I hope that your test goes well. If you can eat fruit while studying instead of high calorie stuff you save the work of trying to lose some extra weight (but you knew that!!!). The really important thing is that if the weight goes up you dont get depressed and put on more weight - abandoning the project. I have done that more times than I care to think about. New weight often comes off quite quickly if you refocus.

I think that it is an excellent idea getting scales for your boyfriend's place. I know that I need to weigh myself every day to keep focused. I was away last weekend and I took our scales with me. I know that you cannot take your scales with you - but clearly you have been with your boyfriend for a long time - so you know that you are going to be spending a lot of time with him now and in the future. I think that it will be central to keeping focused.

Also when I was away last weekend I continued to wear my pedometer all the time (apart from one evening when I wore a dress with no belt). I did less steps than I would have done had I been at home - but a lot more than I would have done if I had not worn a pedometer.

I always have some wine gums and glacier fruits in the house. These are reasonably low calorie fruit flavoured sweets which you suck so it takes quite a while to eat them. It sounds like you have a similar strategy at home - extend it to your boyfriend's house.

It can be difficult spending time with skinny people. They eat what they like and act as our temptors. Try to ignore what they eat. Eat the food that you know will make your dreams come true. You never know, their bodies may suddenly change and their weight may come up as yours goes down.

Take care and stay focused. You know what you want and you know that you can make it happen. We all can with each other's support.

I've not been around much lately because, like you, I've been really busy.

I hope you do well on the test.

And ditto to what Jess said. I like to snack too, but I can't. I won't allow myself. However, I eat a fair amount of food. How am I able to eat so much food and as often as I do? I eat primarily whole foods, most of which are very low in calorie. The two things that I eat that are calorie dense are almond butter and tofu. Anyway, my point is, if you eat low calorie foods that are whole or unprocessed, you get to eat more!!!! Now, I'm not suggesting you (or anyone!) go out and buy a bunch of celery. The reduced fat Triscuits are a good idea!

I'm glad your weigh in went well. You need to change your ticker though!:)

While it would be easy to say "don't snack" -- there will be weak moments. So definitely, pack up a little box of snack foods that you like and take them over to his house and keep them there, stashed in a closet if you have to so the roomies won't eat them. That way, when/if the urge strikes you won't eat the unhealthy snacks, but grab something you CAN eat without so much guilt. We will all have our moments when we fall off the wagon, and yes, you may put a lb or two back on. It doesn't change anything, it's just a blip and it's best to just forget about it and move on. Tomorrow IS another day.

(and I can't BELIEVE I've just quoted "Gone with the Wind." Smack me with a dead mackerel).
