well i decided i wanted to lose weight and going on vacation gave me a reason. so i started running dec 06 about 1/2 mile each day and doing 1/2 mile on the elliptical and a good amount of ab exercises. i was up to a mile a day 2 weeks later. i pretty much just focused on the exercise for about 4
months which netted about a 40lb loss.
then i decided to cut back on my eating and add in some weight training. this took off about another 20 lbs and i was pretty much just running 3 miles a day no more elliptical. so at about the year mark i was down 60lbs.
at that point i decided to take it further and focused more on diet which i had avoided up to this point and upped my exercise adding in pull ups push ups and more abs. this got me to were i am now.
i am currently 169lbs, thats 115lbs lost. i eat very healthy and dont over eat. i dont count calories, but i know what to eat and what not to. i do about 2000 reps of ab exercises every night, run 3 miles a day, weight train for about an hour 1 day on 2 days off, and do 250 push ups 100 pull ups and 100 floor sweepers the days i dont lift.
i do have some loose skin on my lower abs, buts thats to be expected. i use a cocoa butter, aloe, vitamin e mixture to help tighten my skin and it has helped. im sure in time it will tighten more. its been stretched for over thirty years, it will take a few to tighten.
next month will be 2 years since i started losing the weight. i have not only maintained weight loss for 2 years but i have been consistently losing for the 2 years. i think i am more happy that i have kept it off and maintained a healthy lifestyle for that amount of time than i am the amount i have lost.
