Best Workout for 1Hr timeframe

I just have a little question. I am a mother of 2 young children, and I am trying to get rid of my babyfat. However, I am constantly busy with the kids, so I don't have much time to work out. I get about 30 mins-1 hour to myself everyday (if that). My question is, what would be the best workout for me to do in that time to get the best results? Should I do pilates, cardio, aerobics, weightlifting? I also have one of those Total Gym 1000 machines in my house; would that help me lose weight in the short time I have daily?
Any advice would be great. Thank you.

1 hour is enough, i guess you cant go to a gym, since that would take longer with you having to get there. Weightlifting and cardio would be you're best bet. but not everyone has a weight set in theire basement. You could do bodyweight strenght training though.

Do you have an hour every day? if so you could do strenght training 3 times a week and cardio 2 or 3 times a week.

The total gym can be good until you reach a certain level of strenght where its too easy for you.

Try alternating days. On some days, do strength training, on others, do some cardio. That would help you keep it under an hour and keep you active on most days.

The Total Gym should help you get started with strength training, then you might need to "graduate" to something else at some point later on. As for cardio, if you don't have any equipment, try some form of workout dvd that you find enjoyable. Outside exercise is great, uplifting, and gets the kids active, so you should do that when you can, but I know it isn't that easy (kids, weather, dogs in the neighborhood, etc).

If you are working out everyday I would do three circuit training sessions. Here you alternate stations between cardio and strenght training. You can set one up with your total gym and possible get some small weights (or use water bottles). This is the best use of your time and you can get a great workout in about a half hour.

Then on the other days you can mix Pilates and cardio together. This way you are getting strength training and cardio everyday. Those are the two keys to losing weight. The more muscle you build, the more calories you will burn at rest.

And remeber to get lots of protein and eat 5 - 6 small snacks / meals throughout the day!

If you ever get a chance to read Shape magazine they often feature exercises you can do without gym equipment. Usually using a resistance band, stability ball or light hand held weights.
