Re: adding calories
Hello everyone and thank you for your input. Yes, I did increase my calorie intake (The good kind) Chicken, eggs, lean beef, protein supplement shakes, pasta (no sauce) etc. I did add weight to my body however, I started to get a gut. So I added walking into my routine. See my other problem is that I have a back injury that is with me for life. So I am very limited in lower body exercises. (sucks) I can do things like leg extensions and leg curls but that is about it. (Let me just say, I am lucky that I can still walk) I do all my exercises laying down on the bench or sitting on the bench. Standing is not a good thing for my back when lifting weights. In another post on fitness.com, I mentioned that I use an inversion table for my back and that is the only way I can do situps due to my condition. Once the pressure is off my lower back, I do pretty good for situps. I currently weigh 190lbs at 5' 9" I know I have to perform more cardio (walking, no running or biking for me) I also perform leg squats with no weight.(can't, due to my condition) I know it is not much but it IS something to me. I perform them against the basement wall with an exercise ball behind my back to guide me.
