What are the best exercises to go with to try to get a six pack?

Truth be told, I do not like these sorts of questions, blind: First (IMO) there is no one best exercise when referring to a blanket-party for the masses.

The best exercise or (exercises) are the one's that work for the individual, and this is learned through trial and error. I could go through many direct-core exercises and give you my preference, but is this applicable to you? Maybe not.

Additionally, if you are wanting a six-pack, knowing a little about your current physical condition (composition, background, etc), is one of the stone rules in setting up a program more "specific" to your needs.

For example, if you are 50 pounds over weight (with a lot of fat accumulation), dialing in on ab-core (specific) exercises may not be the best course of action for you (at this time) to begin a exercise regiment.

A program more metabolically-driven may, may be the better choice (where emphasis is placed on the entire-body, controlled-calories, etc). Doing ab-core exercises burn very little calories, and while they strengthen/build the core, they will do nothing to make them show more with a lot of fat on top of them. So in this situation, emphasis on muscle building and fat loss is more of the focus, and less on direct core work (this can come within the program later, dependent on the individual).

Can you be more specific about your current physical composition? This way advice can be more specific and helpful.
