Hey bert,

Good to see you got right back in the gym even if you weren't feeling it. That really shows dedication and determination. Sorry to hear about work giving you stress, I know all to well how that is. My district manager came down to talk to me for the "pre-holiday" pep talk, that's always a blast :banghead:

Keep up the progress man,

I love salsa on eggs! It's a great way to get some veggies in and tastes so good. Hot peppers also have a great effect on weight loss too... so make it spicy salsa.

"Capsaicin for Weight Loss

Capsaicin, the compound in red chili peppers that makes them hot, may inhibit the growth of fat cells, a new study suggests."

Good job on the food and workouts Bert. I've got some kinda cold going on too. I need to get back to the gym and sweat it out.

hey bert just dropping in to see how things are? Weigh in tomorrow for the November challenge, are you ready? I hope I did good.

Hey Adam,

Good luck in the morning. I weighed in today and was down 2 lbs. I was pretty happy with that considering.......my wife wanted a date last night and since we never get a babysitter I let her pick where to eat. She chose Outback and I could have done better or worse. Salad, twelve ounce sirloin, bread, garlic mashed potatos, mushrooms. I was okay with it though b/c normally I would have had an appetizer or dessert or both and a couple of beers but I skipped all that.

On another note this week from hell if finally over. We worked on our budgets for 3 days and they had to reset everthing b/c of a system glitch. The issue from earlier in the week just seemed to get worse and then today my wife and son were rear-ended. They are okay but sore but our van needs major work. :cuss: My wife had plans tonight and I worked late, so no gym either. Its just never easy but I digress.

Well, I have been trying only to weigh on Fridays but my shirt felt very loose this morning so I thought what the heck. I weighed (twice) 300 exactly. That is 2.6 since Friday. I guess even though I had too many cheats, yesterday's workout was really good (I made up for the one I missed). I guess my fat burning may be up some too from the weighlifting. I so want to be under 300 next weigh-in, no reason I shouldn't be.

Day 14:
Breakfast: 2 harboiled eggs w/ 1 tsp olive oil mayo, 2 pieces ww toast w/ smart spread, 8 oz milk

Well, another tough week at work. I'm not going to try to go back and put my eating down, as I don't really remember. I also did not get any excercise as I worked late all week (I know, excuses, excuses). However, I don't know if it was the stress or what but it was a great week for the weight loss. I lost 6 lbs. exactly. Pretty good report at the Dr. yesterday and his scales confirmed the wight loss, so I'm pretty happy about that and ready for this weekend.

Damn bert, 6lbs? You are the freaking man! I bow to you and your weight loss abilities. I was only able to lose 3lbs. Hope work gets better for you as the week progresses.

Just luck and stress I think. Well, I had a great workout this morning. I ran for 6 mins (20 mins total) on the treadmill. That is the most so far. Maybe a week of rest helped.

Breakfast: bowl of kashi cereal w/ skim milk
Snack: apple, protein shake (post workout)
Lunch: sandwich w/ turkey and venison summer sausage, pepper relish, 2 tblsp of potato salad, 2 oz potato chips
Snack: 2 bites of mac & cheese
Dinner:
Snack:

20 mins treadmill (6 running)
13 sets for chest
8 sets for triceps
37 cruches
32 side crunches
20 lying leg raises

Bert, you are doing great! Between the food you're eating and the exercise you are doing, you should be at your goal by like next week! :)

Stay strong and keep up the hard work. Hope you have a great holiday though!!

Thanks Logan. I need the encouragement, as I have stumbled to start this week. I stopped and got Wendy's at 3:30 yesterday and had a cheeseburger and a chicken sandwich, then had hot dogs and tater tots for dinner. Then this morning I had 2 steak bicuits from Bojangles. I just ordered a salad for lunch and am planning on working out this evening. I had hoped to do good til Thursday b/c the holiday will be tough. Need to stay on track the rest of today and tomorrow. Sometimes its like I don't even stop to think about what I'm doing, ugh!

Congrats on the 6 lb loss! That's great!

And as far as the tough start to this week, I think it is important to remember that there are going to be times where we all give into that temptation and eat a meal that isn't part of our diet. What is important is to just not dwell on it and get back on track as soon as possible, and that is exaclty what you are doing with ordering a salad for lunch!
