Benefit of Decline Bench

Decline bench is carp in my opinion.

Decline bench works the main/frontal pectorals, just like regular bench press'. Incline works upper pecs, so decline is just something fancy.
 
Actually, there is no upper and lower chest. There's the pectoralis major, which makes up the majority of your chest and the pectoralis minor, which originates from the 3,4,and5 ribs and inserts into the medial and upper surface of coracoid process of the scapula.
 
You use your triceps a little bit more, and your range of motion is lower. I don't think it's crap though, or carp, lol.
Personally I like it quite a bit, but mainly for a nice tweaking or a change of pace. I usually feel it quite a bit more, that and I can lift more on decline too (due to the ROM). BUT, the decline bench I use is at a lower decline (greater angle) than others I've tried, so it feels different from flat bench. So that may have an influence on my opinion too.
 
It's good once and a while. But people respond to different things, I personally feel incline gives me the best mass gains, but next to no one would agree. Decline isn't very popular though, try it, see what you think. You probably won't respond, but who knows, there's always the freaks (AJP, :p lol)

I think the decline bench I use just rocks or something, I've tried others, the "regular" ones, and they suck. I think the best of any chest press is incline db press though, 30 not 45, man those are great
 
The decline bench activates a different CNS pattern. Good to use when the body adapts to the flat or incline.
 
For few weeks, I used Incline and flat bench.
And then for the next few weeks, I used the flat, Decline DB and DB Flys.
I saw some size gain during the Decline DB+ DB Flys weeks.

I am not saying that Decline caused it, maybe, I just needed to vary the routine.
