Zone?

Read some articles about strength training. What I would recommend to you is to go along and ask these guys how they train if you want to be like them train like them.

If you want to do it properly on the other hand then train your bench no more than 2 times per week hit it hard keeping between 4 and 8 reps and being sensible with the weight. Also perform other compound exercises that will add to your overall strength like chinups squats etc

First of all. . .

The chances are, most of the people at school are lying about how much they can bench press if most say that they're benching around 250. Either they are lying or they're benching with poor form which means that they're technically benching more but it doesn't count because it's cheating OR they're on the juice. I can imagine, the average teenager who weighs around 150-170 lbs can bench no more than 100 LBS, with good form. Don't believe people when they say they can lift X amount of weight until you see them lift it.

If you want to increase strength and you're new to weight training, you should search for a full body workout routine. Either google it or use this web site's search engine. Read more about weight training, stay determined and you will achieve your goals.

do full body workouts help develop more muscle, faster?or am i wrong?
basically, what are the benefits of full body workouts

theres tons of benefits...i can hit you up with an article if you want
"1) They train every major muscle group three times each week.

2) They keep intensity levels sufficient without overindulgence.

3) They choose a training volume that can be maintained along with the stressors of life.

4) They execute compound, multi-joint exercises that have been shown to produce the most hypertrophy.

5) They keep each training session as brief as possible.

6) They allow at least 48 hours of recovery between workouts."

i recommend full bodies myself.

oh and about the kids who say they can bench 200:
kids talk so much crap.
my friend said he could bench 190. we went to the weight room. he couldnt do 130 1 time.

some kids do 200 on the bench press machine and tell you that they can bench 200. that crap is so dang easy. kids make up so many ways to brag. trust me. a kid with chicken legs and no abs told me he could squat 230 twelve times. BS. kids lie. period.

and if you can only bench that much, so be it. make improvements. eat right, train well rest well. be dedicated. and dont compare yourself to other people. you are fine the way you are. if you want to improve what you have, good luck and take it step by step bud. :D
