Hey~lo
Well I survived the camping trip. lol
It actually went very well. It was one of our best camping trips yet. As the kids are getting older and better able to entertain themselves things are getting easier and easier.
I did get out and walk by myself one morning. Headed around the campground partway to a trail they had that led to the beach. It was so beautiful at the beach. The were no waves at all. Just a gentle lapping of the water. Seagulls overhead doing their thing. So Peaceful.
Think in all it was about an hour. I felt bad leaving hubby with the kids to deal with in the morning. So I hustled back as soon as I could. I rode bikes with my kids around the campground a few times. (Man I need a bigger seat on that bike! My rear end still hurts! lol)
Luckily for me my bike has a speedometer and odometer on it so I am able to keep track of how far and how long I am on it.
Going around the campground just once was over a mile and a half and it took us about 20 minutes. I couldn't go the usual speed that I would since my kids would never be able to keep up otherwise.
We went to the beach everyday. (Camped at Lake MI) So I am counting the walking, more like hiking, up and down the huge dune to get to the beach as exercise.
Luckily the fine folks of MI made a sidewalk that goes part of the way down (helps control erosion of the dune) so it wasn't one of those take 3 steps forward slide down 2 deals. Well at least for the top half of the dune it wasn't. lol
It usually took me about 15 minutes to get all the way to the top. I was usually lugging a cooler, towels and a chair when we went to the beach. Just for the record hubby lugged stuff too. But we have to be extrememly careful with his knees since they are bad and prone to twisting. So I did most of the lugging.
I would love to say that I "swam". But you don't really swim in Lake MI. You usually just frollick around in the waves. Which the first night there was like none at all. The second day was pretty much the same as the first night except as the sun got closer to going down it started getting rougher with the waves. And the finally day that we went to the beach the waves were wild! I mean like ocean sized ones. The kids loved it. I did not. haha
We did hit a local ice cream place that was the absolute best ice cream ever!!! And I am not kidding. They make all their ice cream right there in a factory attached to the store. They had over 40 flavors and the amount of ice cream they gave you was
UNBELIEVABLE! I got a
SINGLE dip Caramel Cashew Crunch waffle cone. I watched the guy make it. He packed the ice cream all the way down the cone and then put like 6 more BIG scoops on top!

I was like "what did I get myself into?"
I wasn't able to finish it. Well let's put it this way. I could have finished it but not only would I have made myself sick I would have regretted big time having eaten the whole thing. I only ended up eating just barely over half before I threw it away.
I think if we ever go there again I will only get the baby scoop in a cup. I saw that one too and it was like a normal size serving! haha
You had to take a number when you got there. We got number 17 and they were only on number 4. By the time that we left they were up to number 59! And that was at 9 at night! On a Tuesday! I have to wonder what it is like on a weekend night.
All in all I ate well. I never overate. I did have some s'mores. But who doesn't when they go camping?
Woke up this morning and weighed myself hoping to have just held my own and not gained anything.
I lost another 1 1/2 pounds!!! I couldn't believe it! I thought for sure that I would have been equal. Not losing anything. Especially after having that ice cream! haha
In all I think I "exercised" 2 1/2 hours. Could be more but I would rather round down than up.
Oh and before I forget! My little guy was in a contest at the local fair last Saturday. He Won!!!
He was Little Mr. Noble County for the week of fair. Got to ride in a parade, throw out candy, hand out ribbons to winners and help crown Miss Noble County as well as he himself got a trophy. Also when we go to the fair (which is free since he won) he wears a sash thingy that says he is Little Mr. Noble county and he gets announced at the GrandStand events if he is there.
I wanted to attach to picture of him with his trophy but the system won't let me.
