Bellaryna's Journey

You have GOT to be kidding me! WOW!

I am so impressed with this, you had an awesome bike ride. Go ahead, eat like a piggy today. Heck, if I had done this workout yesterday I wouldn't have had the little pity party that I had for myself.

Well, you have definitely motivated me. I have already been to the gym once today (to make up for missing yesterday), and plan to go back tonight after I get off work. So, now, I will be using you as my inspiration!!

WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to see how your weigh in goes tomorrow! Good luck... :smash: :smash: :smash:

:blush5: Awwww Shucks * hands behind back, stubbing toe on the ground* :blush5:
I'm glad that I was able to inspire you.
Your totally inspiring me too! You are so gung-ho right now, just like I was when I first started. And I need to keep reminding myself just how exciting it was when I first started on this journey.
Thanks for keeping me encouraged!

Awesome!! I love cycling, it's my second favorite exercise... ;)

You went out and did over 20 miles on your first ride? That is amazing. It usually takes me a few rides to work up to that kind of mileage. Keep it up !!

Thanks for stopping by!!!! :waving:

I know it was kinda crazy! :willy_nilly: LOL
I didn't really intend to go quite so far. I really only meant to go 16 miles. I know it still sounds like alot, LOL. :smilielol5: But trust me I was good until 18 miles............that's when I was seriously contemplating how long it would take me to walk that bike home!!!!! hahahahaha

One thing that happened along the way...........I found that I really, really, really liked being outside riding. I just felt like I could "hear" myself think.
Don't get me wrong, I love my family and all but I almost never get time to myself.
Case in point even as I type this my youngest is trying to show me a lego castle that he built for me. And 2 seconds before that dh was chatting at me. And before that dd was going on about the neighbor's new puppy. All while I am trying to type.
So when I was out there I just felt quiet.
Do you know what I mean?

I hear ya about the railings! :puke:

I'm so glad the grocery stores I shop at supply lysol wipes next to the buggy's. I wipe off the bar and seat! lmbo!
I want my canvas bags and purse to sit on a clean seat as well. :D

(I have enough canvas bags now so I don't have to use paper/plastic!)

Yer doin' just great and it sounds like ya have another 'Goal Reachin' Day planned!

Good Job!

Why doesn't it surprise  me to hear that you wipe off the carts rails and seat! LOL :smilielol5:
And GREEN too!
Personally I like getting the plastic.......gives me something to put the dog poop in! hahahaha

Well here it is Friday nite and I am home. Yep you read that right. Home, home, home!!!!
(For those of you new to the diary I work 2nd shift weekends Fri-Sat-Sun)
I went into work early today hoping to pick up some extra hours.
(Again for those of you who don't know I work at a Wal-Mart Distribution Center........in the freezer!!!!)
And when I say early I mean early.
Normally I don't have to be to work until 3:30pm but today they asked me to come in at 10am.
So I got to orderfill for about 3 1/2 hours.
That is straight cardio people! Between all the movement and all the lifting of the 10-40 pound boxes my heart was going the whole time. I was sweating like a pig :piggy: (yes you can sweat in a feezer! LOL :smilielol5: ) and soooooooo hot that I had steam coming off of me.
I guess you could say I was smoking hot!!! hahaha :biggrinjester:
Anyhow, when I got started on my regular shift I found out there wasn't going to be enough volume to keep everyone there for the whole evening.
I usually don't ever get asked to go home since my job is the absolute last job to be done at the end of the night.
Since the volume wasn't there they needed to cut people outta there to save "the numbers". Don't ask! haha
So anywho I was the most logical person to get rid of. What with the extra hours I already had coming into my shift.
And I am not the type of person to look the gifted horse in the mouth and go "weeeellll I don't know". I took the offer and ran! LOL :hurray:
So hear I sit. *Sigh*
So I don't really know how I would figure up the "exercise" I did today.
But I definately know that I burned off lots and lots of calories.
Well dh needs to get on the computer.
So I will get on here tomorrow with all the updated stats.
Catch ya'll later.
:seeya:

Congrats on your bike ride. Now you can ride to my house! :D

I bet it felt good to be home Friday.

See you tomorrow.

Well done!!

WELL DONE MY BELL!!!
I'm so excited for you, listening to all your accomplishments in the working out arena, you must be very happy for yourself. If you keep up this kind of working out, you will be back down to 180 in NO TIME FLAT! And yes, any type of cleaning if it's nonstop and you don't sit down for a few hours IS working out in my book. I did that here yesterday ALL day for about 6 hours nonstop, I was a sweaty pig by the time I was finished so I know I burned some calories, even if it was just picking up, vacuuming and walking back and forth from one side of the house to the other, I know it was working. Okay so it's not like working out at the gym for an hour, but it is work. GREAT JOB on the bike riding too, that is so AWESOME!! I know exactly what you mean about quiet time while biking, I love that time as well, it's just time to reflect on nature and it's just about you!!

And about touching stuff at the gym, I don't touch anything if I can help it, and I ALWAYS scrub down my machine after I'm done using it, so it's nice and clean for the next person. But even when I'm running on the elliptical I never touch it, not even when I'm getting off of it, it just grosses me out! LOL LOL to many people hacking on it and sweating without wiping it down, NASTY!! But, it's good to know others feel the same way I do. LOL LOL

Well, hope your weekend is a MARVELOUS one and I hope you get to ride more too. Have a great day!! I'll check on you in a few days!
CHOW BABES!
Kim

First of all Congrats on the huge bike ride. That is very impressive! :hurray:

You germaphobes crack me up. Just don't put your fingers in your mouth after touching the gross, nasties, and then wash your hands when finished..lol. I think I would gross you all out, as I touch handrails, etc all the time. However, I'm hardly ever sick. Guess I have a good immune system from all the germs.

Glad to hear the school didn't explode! :D That would've been very, very bad.

Do you know what I mean?

Sorry for the cut and paste quotes, but yes I know EXACTLY what you mean!!!!

I dread the winter season when I will be reduced to using stationary equipment. I love the peace, the zen that you find in going outdoors and cycling for a while. A stationary is just not the same (my kids gave me an iPod for father's day though, it should help some).

Keep up the riding! BTW, how does your... err... "saddle" feel after going into a 20+mile ride cold. That's what always gets me. My legs are good, my energy is good, but dammn!!!

Oh man was I worried about that! :biggrinjester:
Turns out it wasn't so bad after all. Though at the time I thought I would never make it home. LOL Guess I still got enough "padding" to make it not hurt quite so badly! :smilielol5::smilielol5:

Thanks to everyone who stopped by over the weekend.
This past weekend turned out to be a pretty good one. What with the holiday and all.
After getting Friday night off it was back to the freezer as usual on Saturday. Didn't get off of work until 2:30am. Which put me at like 4 hours of sleep once I made it home.
Hubby was preaching this Sunday and needed someone (me! :biggrinjester:) to cover his usual job of teaching the elementary aged kids for 1st service at church. That meant I had to be to church by 8:30am. And since I have kids that meant I had to get up at 7am.
After church went home and got in a nice nap.
And was back off to work again.
Though at least we didn't have to be there all night again. I clocked out of work at 10:30pm and headed to the store to pick up food for the next day. We were heading out to "the" lake. Lake Michigan that is!
Had an absolutely wonderful time, though the water was FRIGID!!! :svengo:
Spent the day doing sets of "polar bear dips" followed by "sun bathing" aka warming up.
Ate really well at the beach. Had lots of good for you foods like carrots, grapes, Laughing Cow cheese wedges and of course lots and lots of water.
Stopped at a great place to eat on the way home. Was a good girl and got a salad. Funny thing though the salad was sooooo BIG that I couldn't get at it with my fork without stuff failing out of the bowl. Apparently this is a usual occurance as they brought the bowl out on a plate. So silly me, I decided to put my salad on the plate. Only I decided to do this by flipping the bowl over onto the plate instead of putting the plate on the salad and then turning it.
So you guessed it I had a lapful of lettuce!!!
Dh just looked at me and didn't say a word! LOL
Other than that little mishap the day went very well.
We decided that now the kids are older and more manageable we should go to the beach more than once next year.
So that is something to look forward to.
Stopped at a fruit stand on the way home and got some of the most delish raspberries ever!
I wish we could get more fresh stuff around here like that. I would be buying stuff everyday.
I have decided to start eating in a more healthier way.
A little more along the clean eating routine.
As long as I am going to continue to eat stuff that is not nescessarily healthy for me just lower in calories I think I will continue to struggle.
I need to break away from all those high carbs that I seem to love.
So today I went and got some Steel Cut Oats and I will be trying those for breakfast tomorrow. Along with the entire family eating fish at least once a week. As well as some other healthy organic stuff.
And no more eating out for anything. Well maybe for salads. :) But mostly if I am going to go thru the drive-thru I am going to only be getting drinks. Like coffee and iced tea. And as soon as Mickey D's stops doing their $1 large drinks I will no longer be getting that either.
I am planning on taking another bike ride tomorrow. I was told it should be about 14 miles round trip. Add to that my plans of getting back to my PowerCore class and tomorrow should round out to be a great exercise day.
Tonight I plan to jump on my elliptical here at home.
I realized that since MIL has gotten here I really haven't had a mini-goal in mind for quite some time.
So my mini-goal currently is to get back to 199 by birthday which is the 23rd of this month.
As of right now I am weighing in at 204 something. Just haven't had the heart :beating: to change the ticker in an upward motion........again! *Sigh*
So I figure that gives me 3 weeks from today to lose 5 pounds. I think that I can do it. All I need to do is stick to it.
So those are my rambling thoughts for the moment.
I'll get around to everyone's diaries later on. I need to go pick up the MIL and take her to Wally-world.
See ya all later!

You now I think that I have come to the conclusion that maybe it is better to plan things out spur of the moment.
Everytime I try to plan anything lately something/someone pops up into the picture and totally blows my plan out of the water.
*sigh*
Case in point~
I had planned to ride my bike this morning with my friend but was told by hubby this morning that he was going to be unable to take his mother to the appt that she had today to have an endoscopy done.
So I ended up taking MIL to her appt. Which effectively blew the entire day.
I barely made it home in time to make it to my PowerCore class.
But made it I did! :hurray:
And man did Kelly punish me for not being there for the last month.
But oddly enough it felt good to feel my muscles screaming out in pain. I felt like I was actually accomplishing something again.
I am looking forward to getting back to PowerCore every Monday and Wednesday.
Ate really well today.
Cereal, coffee, salad from Wendy's (MIL's treat) as well as a small chili. Dinner was a 1/3 of a $5 foot long from Subway.
In all I think I did pretty good.
Well the VP speech is getting ready to start and I really want to catch it so I will catch up with everyone later.
Chow!

Welcome to my Crazy Life!!!!

I swear there just needs to be more hours in the day!
This week has been sooo very hectic. I feel like I am being pulled into a million and one different directions.
MIL (I love her I really do) is DRIVING :auto: me to the brink of insanity!!!
She has got to be the only 74 year old person that I know who is absolutely, perfectly capable of taking care of herself, yet is the clingest/needest person at the same time.
She wants me to drive her everywhere........all the time! But then she plays it down like "I don't want to be a burden". ARGGGHHH!!!:banghead:
I spend just about 2-3 hours everyday taking her somewhere. Be it the grocery store, the fabric store, the doctors, you name it.
And it wouldn't be so bad if she wouldn't treat it like I have all the time in the world.
In the past 2 weeks I haven't even had the chance to do any laundry~Thankfully dh has stepped up in that department. I haven't gotten to the store to buy groceries~I have taken to buying them when I get off of work on Sunday nights 'cuz she takes like 3 hours to buy groceries!
My house is falling down around me and if she comes over she makes these little bitty remarks about the house. Like "oh you haven't vaccuumed have you? I can tell 'cuz the dust is bothering my nose" Well maybe if I wasn't out galavanting the countryside day after day after day I could actually spend sometime in my house. And maybe while I am in it I could actually clean it!
Add to that dh left today and will be gone for 9 days. So since he is not here and I have to work I got a sitter for the weekend. She is making noises about that! She actually had the nerve to call me and ask if this "girl, person" (her words not mine), was going to feed the kids! Like Sarah would just sit there and NOT feed them!
It's enough to make me want to scream and yell and cry all at the same time in frustration!!!
There was a movie sometime back that had Meg Ryan, Lou Diamond Phillips and Matt Damon in it. Meg was a helicopter pilot who was in charge of a group of men. When the helicopter went down behind enemy lines they all started bickering at each other. At one point she started to cry. The Lou Diamond character started to ridicule her for it. And at that point she turned and looked at him and said, "I'm not crying 'cuz I am scared you bleepity bleep. I'm crying 'cuz I am soooo mad!"
That is how I am feeling right now! :cuss:
It seems like the only time I can get to myself is the time that I am able to come on here and update my journey. Which in and of itself seems to be petering out. I am trying so very hard but it seems that ever since MIL got here this journey has hit some construction and now seems to be moving slower than ever. Even backwards at times.
I just need some space of my own.
The thing is..........
I don't think I am going to get it.

Oh, sorry to hear all that. You're not the only one, there is a universal busyness going around in the world, and everyone seems to be worried about the state of their home, myself included! I hope you manage to set some boundaries so you can take care of your biznass and maintain your weight loss. Best wishes!

You know what I've said about this time and time again. ;)

If you said no, she might just have to break down and buy herself a car!!

I haven't caught up with your journal from the week, but I did see that you managed a 2 hour bike ride!!!!! WOW! That is sooo impressive! You've set the bar way up there...I have some work to do! wow. wow. wow. Keep up the great work!

I totally agree. Its time you sat her down and explained that you have a home, husband and children to take care of, and a job, and that you only have x amount of time to spend with her. If she is so worried about the babysitter why doesn't she babysit them for free?????? Perhaps you can tell her that you have only x number of hours on one day per week to take her on errands, appts etc. I hope your H is willing to back you up. If not, he's a mama's boy who needs to cut the apron strings. :biggrinjester:

Glad you've been eating well and exercising. That is something to be proud of. :)

I don't think that will happen. More likely she would just go back to Puerto Rico. And given how much that would disappoint Gil I can't be that mean.

Thanks!
I was hoping to go today but between running errands and going to the grocery store I just ran outta time. That and it started to rain. And unlike some other crazy biking people we know, aka Reluctant, I don't really want to get my shower while I am riding my bike! LOL

If she is so worried about the babysitter why doesn't she babysit them for free??????
If I could be assured that she wouldn't be sick while she is watching them I would let her watch them. But the woman refuses to take her meds like she is suppose to so you never know what day is going to be a good day. And which one is going to be a bad one.
If not, he's a mama's boy who needs to cut the apron strings. :biggrinjester:
Oh trust me he is no momma's boy. He has been taking a much different approach to her lately. He is getting just as frustrated as I am.
Glad you've been eating well and exercising. That is something to be proud of. :)

Thanks for stopping by.
Ate fairly well this week and will be heading out in the next 30 minutes to go to PowerCore.
