Bellaryna's Journey

Wow it's feels like this week just dragged on and on..........:ack2:
The week itself started out fairly well.
I went to work at the Y on Tuesday. I have to be there at 4:30 in the am. I really don't mind it. There are lots and lots of regulars who come in and I enjoy "visiting" with them.
Was in the middle of a meeting with my boss when someone came in and told me that my MIL had just about passed out in her class. She takes a class that is aimed at geriatric folks.
Anyhow they took her bloodpressure and it was out of this world!!!
So I took her straight over to the ER where they ran all kinds of tests. She ended up spending the night and going home at dinner on Wednesday.
So needless to say I was unable to go for my bike ride................again! Sigh
Whacha gonna do though? I mean it's not like I could just drop her at the hospital and then leave.
The rest of this week has pretty much revolved around her and making sure that I was available 24/7 in case she needed me.
Currently she is over at the hospital having a series of tests done to check her stress levels.
So when it comes down to it this week was basically a bust.
I did try on most days to eat well but lets face it they don't exactly have the best food on the planet at hospitals. I don't care what they say. LOL
So starting today I am hoping to get back to it.
Though I must confess to eating about 2-3 handfuls of chocolate covered coffee beans. :blush5:
What a combination. Taking 2 of my favorite things: coffee and chocolate, and putting them together.
There are somethings in this life that I just don't need to know about! LOL
Well I got around to a few diaries but won't be able to get to any others as I have to get things around for work.
I hope that everyone has a great weekend.
Catch ya'll later!

So sorry to hear about your MIL.
:hug2:

Sorry your week didn't go as you planned and wanted as well! *Huggles*

lmbo @ choc. coffee beans and not needing to know about certain things!!

I'm right there with ya! :smilielol5:

My latest craving has been for the fried ice cream blast at Sonic bc I see the commercial every 3 mins. :sifone:

Haven't had one and hope not to have one.. lol

Hope things calm down for ya and you have a Great/Goal Reachin' Weekend!

:grouphug:

Yep! I am completely in agreement with you on this!

Well, hope you have a more relaxing weekend. I have to work all weekend, so blahhhh... But, if I want to go shopping for "skinny" clothes, I guess that's the sacrifice I have to make. LOL!

Take care. :seeya:

Oh ya! to Skinny Clothes!!!!

Don't even get me started on Sonic!!!
We never had one in our area until recently and up until about 6 weeks ago I could honestly say I had never been there.
Sometimes ignorance is bliss.
Because now that I have been there I know what I am missing out on!!! LOL
So sorry to hear about your MIL.

Got home early from work.
Okay so it may not seem early to everyone else but it is about 2 hours earlier than it would normally be for me.
I did really well yesterday and today.
Though I was really surprised to jump on the scale this morning and have it show 204. *shrugging shoulder on that one*
Not sure where that number came from. ?????
MIL is doing well. She had a slew of tests run on her on Friday. And hopefully we won't have to wait too long for all the results.
She goes to see a Gastro doc on Thursday. She has MAJOR tummy problems. And we are thinking that the passing out episodes may have to due more with her not getting enough sleep than her heart.
Her tummy is always bugging her but at night it is really really bad. So bad in fact that lots of nights she won't sleep at all. Or at least wouldn't if it wasn't for Ambien.

I keep having these urges to run.
The same ones I was having before. Except it always seems that they pop up when I couldn't possibly run.
Like right now for instance. I mean it is 1:19 in the morning and I have church early tomorrow. Heck I shouldn't even be on here right now. But there is no way that I could "run" right now.

No matter what this week I WILL go for that bike ride. Maybe that will help with the running thing. Who knows.
Well I really should be getting off to bed.
If dh knew that I had gotten home this early and that instead of going to bed I got on here............I would never hear the end of it. LOL
Catch ya'll later!

I love that feeling of wanting to exercise. Maybe today you can fit in a nice bike ride or run after church sometime. Blahhhhh to the scale. Don't pay any attention. Sometimes I think scales were made by some madman who can watch us every time we step on it, and he plays tricks with the numbers just so he can laugh and laugh and laugh... :biggrinjester:

Have a great day!

lol re: sonic! ;)

LOL re: gettin' on puter late last night.. :sifone:

*Best Wishes for MIL* That is so sad. :(

I have been havin' the exercise urges at strange times to..
I even dreamed about it last night. :smilielol5:

I was skinny in my dreams!! *Dances the Hillbilly Jig*

Maybe it was a prediction?!
;)

Have A Great Day Doll.

Just got back from the grocery store.
Next to folding clothes that is my least favorite chore! UGH
Did find a little bitty farmer's market that is on the other side of town last week when I took MIL to the hospital.
When I stopped in I noticed that the veggies they had were considerably cheaper.
So once I was done at Wallyworld I popped over there for some cheap veggie action! LOL
I forgot to weigh myself this morning, Duh! :) LOL
So I will put up a new number tomorrow. It sure would be nice if it would be a lower one.
Bought plenty of healthy foods to eat for main meals and snacks this week. So hopefully I will be able to keep my cravings under control. Planning on having a rotissured chicken for supper. We have one of those Baby George Forman 'Tissers. That thing has paid for itself a bazillion times over.
Well if I plan to get anything else done today before I need to go and get the kids than I better get at it.
I'll try to pop on here later.
C~ya!

I know what ya mean! Actually I don't mind shopping, .. it's the coming home and having to put it away part that I hate. Similiar feelings about the laundry too- I don't mind folding them, it's carrying the baskets updatirs and putting them away that I don't like.

Gratz on picking up those healthy foods! Before to have of those healthy snacks before you go on that bike ride this week.

Sorry to hear about your MIL. Hopefully they can fix her stomach issues so she can sleep better at night.

Congrats on getting all the yummy veggie action at the farmer's market. :hurray:

I've had dreams that I'm thin all the time..lol. But I've never dreamed that I was dancing the hillbilly jig like Stacy. :smilielol5:

Hope my friend has a great week! :hug2: Now, get out there and exercise!! I need to follow my own advice, as usual. :smilielol5:

Today was a rather good day all around.
Did very well on the food front.
Breakfast ~ McD's Parfait w/ Lg Coffee with 4 creamers and Splenda
Mid-Morning Snack ~ Banana
Lunch ~ 2 Soft Boiled eggs on 35 Cal wheat toast, cantaloupe & grapes, banana, 1oz colby jack cheese and 1oz of unsalted roasted almonds.
Mid-Afternoon Snack ~ 1oz Colby Jack cheese
Dinner ~ Spaghetti
Cut up red and green bell peppers, onions, smashed a few garlic cloves and sauted it all together. Used turkey burger for the meat as well as good for you sauce. Threw in some mushrooms and WaLAA! It was Spaghetti with Chunky Sauce. Of course there were noodles involved but I kept them to a bare minimum.
Also had 1 1/2 slices of french bread. The one slice had cheese melted on top but the half was plain.
Evening Snack ~ 4 Chocolate Chip Cookies

Got up off my lazy butt and went for a walk with the MIL. Don't know that I will take her back to that particular trail that we were on. It was so very obvious that she was struggling. But the woman doesn't know how to so "I Quit"
And the last thing I need is for something to happen to her while she is on my watch.
The Trail itself is AWESOME!!!
It runs for about a mile with some serious hilly inclines. So you can really get your heart pumping. Along with the beautiful scenery it is very relaxing. Unless of course you bring along a small child or a slightly less than year old pup! LOL
Then in that case it just became work! hahaha
Was thinking of jumping on my elliptical tonight but as I got home way later than I thought I would and being very tired since I have been up since 4:30am I think I will just hit it hard in the morning.

Well that is about it for now. I am just to tired to be witty. I know that there are other things that I wanted to put in here but for the life of me I just can't recall them at the moment.
I think exhaustion is setting in.
I'll pop back on here tomorrow.
Catch everyone later.

I did it!!!!
I finally went for that bike ride!!! :hurray: Yeah for me! :hurray:
I love, love , love the bike computer thingy that dh gave me for our anniversary. That thing really kept me moving.
I was determined to keep my mph at or above 11 and that is exactly what I did. There were a few times that it dropped down to the 10 range but that was due to some monster sized hills! LOL
It is rather funny how those hills seem like nothing at all from the vantage point of my drivers seat.
Like I was saying I really like that computer thing. It keeps track of everything.
Speed, Distance, Time of trip, Average Speed.
The fastest I got going was 20.9 mph. But that was due to the fact that I was heading down the backside of one of the afore mentioned monster hills.
And I already said that my average speed was 11mph.
I actually ended up biking for 1 hour and 53 minutes. Going 20 1/2 miles in said hour and 53 minutes.
I looked up on The Daily Plate.com and it said that I burned approximately 1800 cals!!!! That's basically the same amount of cals I should eat in one day to lose weight! The website was telling me that I needed to eat in excess of 3000 cals just to break even for the day! Watch out Micheal Phelps here I come! LOL
The biggest drawback to the whole thing is that my tailbone is hurting. Of course I am sure that I will be feeling it even more tomorrow. But for now that will be okay as I don't plan to ride again until next week.
So there is my big accomplishment for the day.
It was a pretty close thing too that I even got out and did it.
I had decided to just lay back down and take a nap when about 20 minutes later someone called and woke me up.
I sure am glad that they called.
Well I guess I don't need to excessively worry about my food today LOL now that I have 3000 cals to work with! :biggrinjester:
But I still will keep an eye on it.
I did split a pack of Peanut M & M's with the church secretary. Figured I needed the extra boost to get back home!
Man I still can't believe that I did it.

That is such great news Dawn and I'm so proud of ya and for ya. ;)

RE: Farmer's Market

I'm so jealous!

:toetap05: I can't get to our market bc it's located in the heart of Dallas where all the gangs and crack dealers are..lmbo!

I wish Mesquite (our city) would open one up!

I have a neat lil produce stand I visit here 'n there in Garland called Cotton's Produce. It's about the size of a 1/2 car garage..lol

I love to get oranges there bc they are always so fresh/sweet; they truly taste like candy!

I also love to get zuchinni there bc they are huge and fresh.
The stores around here charge an arm/leg for those and they are super small!

:grouphug:
Once again, Great Job!

Thanx for the kudos Stacy :blush5:

I still can't believe that I rode my bike that far! And to top it off I am not even sore today. Unbelievable. :svengo:

A weird thing happened today.
I had told my youngest that one of these days I would surprise him at school by coming in to have lunch with him.
So I thought that today would be a good day for it.
So on my way from the Y I noticed the road that goes right by the school was closed and there were fire trucks and cop cars as well as ambulances. They weren't in front of the school but just South of it down the block. Since they were blocking the road I was forced to turn. Which didn't bother me, I needed to go to the bank anyway to get some moolah. I did notice that about 4-5 of the cross streets down this new road were blocked off. I still didn't think much of it. As I have been on the Fire Department before I just assumed that they were doing some kind of morning drill. You know......practice.
So on the way back to the school I took a different route. Not because I wanted to avoid the traffic just was faster.
Well I get to the school and I notice that there are kids out on the playground which at first doesn't seem out of place. Until I realized that since lunch wouldn't have happened yet they shouldn't be out there. That and there was a whole lot of 'em! LOL
At that point I notice that there are more fire trucks and the like in front of the school!
So now it hits me that maybe something bad has happened at the school.
Turns out the city was doing some digging and they clipped a gas line. And as a precaution they evacuated the school.
Luckily nothing bad happened.
But how weird that all that would go down on the one and only day that I decide to go to school and have lunch with my kid! LOL
There were parents that were coming up to the school 'cuz they thought for sure that they had to pick up their kids. I mean they were wigging out.
But the staff was very professional and handled things wonderfully.
So there is my weird but true story for the day.

I'm so glad yer not sore! :)

How freaky Dawn.

That happened to me last year when Cory was in middle school.
(Very creepy)
I was running errands and his old school is on one of the main roads; All kinds of emergency ppl were there.

I tried to enter the school but all of the doors were locked.

I went to a pay phone around the corner to call the school and they were under lock-down bc an angry kid pulled out a knife in class!

I was flipping out! :ack2:

The kid was in 7th...(Cory was in 8th.)

The kid was kicked out of school for the entire year and his family had to move.
See, in Mesquite the school you attend goes by your address and zip..You cannot pick your own school.
They had to move so he could get enrolled in school again.

Crazy stuff!

I'm glad everything turned out ok with the school!
We have had lots of ppl hitting gas lines in Dallas and surrounding cities.
2 mo. ago 4 ppl were killed in Dallas bc 4 houses exploded when worker's hit the gas line. :icon_bs:

Have A Great Day! :hug2:

Wow Stacy!!
I would have totally been freaking out as well, if that would have been me.
Isn't it crazy the way things seem to be going with kids these days?
You gotta wonder what kind of stuff are they going thru in their daily lives that they feel so much angst.
Glad to hear that Corey was okay.
Thanks for continuing to encourage me.

As of this moment all I have done exercise wise is clean the Fitness Center at the YMCA this morning. Which consists of sweeping the track (13 times around is one mile and I usually get it done in like 4 laps), washing/wiping down all the cardio equipment (there's like 15 things in all) as well as cleaning the weight machines and the free weight area. Plus I am a bit anal about the railings thru-out the center. So I wash them down every week. They are so disgusting! All I can say is don't ever touch a railing in a a public place!!!! :ack2:
That and I found out that we have one of those Swiffer sweepers so I have been actually vaccuuming the weight machine/ free weights areas. In all I do about 1 1/2 hours of cleaning. The rest of the time is spent at the desk or socializing with the members.
Today I actually had a member ask me how to do Walking Lunges. So I got to do a 1/4 lap of those with her.
They frown on us actually working out while we are on the clock. Apparently someone in the past totally blew it for the rest of us.
So as you can see I didn't get a whole lot done. But I did stay busy for quite a while.
I am planning on walking the track out at the hospital tonight. One time around is 2/3rds of a mile. So 3x's around is 3 miles.
Add into that I have eaten very well today as well as the bike ride yesterday and the plan to have Salmon for supper and I think I should see some good results on the scale tomorrow morning.

You have GOT to be kidding me! WOW!

I am so impressed with this, you had an awesome bike ride. Go ahead, eat like a piggy today. Heck, if I had done this workout yesterday I wouldn't have had the little pity party that I had for myself.

Well, you have definitely motivated me. I have already been to the gym once today (to make up for missing yesterday), and plan to go back tonight after I get off work. So, now, I will be using you as my inspiration!!

WOOHOO!!! I can't wait to see how your weigh in goes tomorrow! Good luck... :smash: :smash: :smash:

:svengo:

Awesome!! I love cycling, it's my second favorite exercise... ;)

You went out and did over 20 miles on your first ride? That is amazing. It usually takes me a few rides to work up to that kind of mileage. Keep it up !!

I hear ya about the railings! :puke:

I'm so glad the grocery stores I shop at supply lysol wipes next to the buggy's. I wipe off the bar and seat! lmbo!
I want my canvas bags and purse to sit on a clean seat as well. :D

(I have enough canvas bags now so I don't have to use paper/plastic!)

Yer doin' just great and it sounds like ya have another 'Goal Reachin' Day planned!

Good Job!
