Bellaryna's Journey

Glad to hear the flu is done with, but sorry your tummy is not settled. Don't worry about the gain- you were sick, there was a holiday and your body will often fluctuate.

We have a great aquarium here in Baltimore, but man it's expensive. We try to take the kids every couple of years- the dolphin show is spectacular.

Thank you for your continued support- your success is also an inspiration for me!

Have fun at the aquarium tomorrow! I think you'll have good weather. :coolgleamA:

I'm glad you're feeling better, and getting in your exercise. I'm sure you'll do a ton of walking tomorrow in Chicago.

I hear ya on the housework waiting. My excuse is laziness. :rolleyes: Which reminds me--I have laundry to fold. :ack2:

I am so with you on the laziness!!! LOL
I am about the worst procrastinator when it comes to housework.
In fact I am so bad at it that my hubby affectionately has dubbed me "The Relocator."
As in I clean one room really well, but really all I did was move most of everything to another room!

We had a blast in Chicago and we did do lots and lots of walking. The weather was beautiful too.

Yesterday was an ABSOLUTE SUCCESS!!!
Including the cost of the gas to fill up the car (42$) the entire trip only cost us 120$!!! :hurray:
That included:
Stopping at Starbucks (I only had reg. coffee nothing fancy, calories you know LOL),
Paying for the tolls on the road,
Parking (we found metered parking so it only cost 2$!!!),
The cost to get into the Aquarium, 36$,
Drinks @ the local Sporting Goods store,
Dinner at a fabulous Mexican place that we found using the Garmin, 37$ that's including the tip,
as well as getting Apple pies at MickeyD's. I didn't have one.

I made muffins the day before so everyone had a couple of those plus a banana for breakfast before we headed out.
I also packed our lunch.
Yes I know I am a Savvy mom. You may pat me on the back at anytime! LOL :biggrinjester:

The kids had a blast. Especially dd. She loved the dolphins, and the whales the most. Though it was almost a 3 way tie with the penguins.
It wasn't too crowded and the exhibits were gorgeous.
Dd has already asked when we can go back to see another museum.
I told her that her and I would go this summer, just the 2 of us and take the train there.
I thought she would pop with the excitement of that one!
We ended up spending 4 hours at the Aquarium. I figured that between sitting down to eat lunch and the times that your not moving along we walked for about 3 hours. So of course I am counting that towards my ARC exercise for this week.
I do need to still eat 8 ounces of Salmon as I didn't have any yesterday due to the traveling but I figure I can eat that readily enough in a salad today and for dinner tonight.
I did hit a good number yesterday just before the trip but of course this morning was up from that.
What with all the driving I didn't drink nearly enough water yesterday and we did have Mexican for dinner.
I plan to redouble my efforts today with the water consumption, keep my cals low and pray that the low number returns for tomorrow.
Plus I do have a class tonight so that ought to help things along.
Catch ya all later.

Glad to hear you all had a good time!

I love visiting zoos and aquariums- you probably got more exercise than you think with all the walking!

*Pats you on the back* :biggrinjester:

Glad you had a good time in Chi-town yesterday. I always walk a ton when I go there, too.

Nice job getting the cheap parking!!! That was a huge money saver. :party:

Thank you for picking up my exercise slack this week. I do appreciate it! :grouphug:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for a nice number on the scale for ya tomorrow. :)

Hey all~:waving:
Got in an hour and a half of exercise tonite at my Fit for Life class. Man did we work HARD! Tonight was all about lower body. We did start out with 20 minutes of cardio. I chose to jump on the Arc Trainer. It is so funny 'cuz I never really feel like I am working so hard on that machine but it always says that I burned off a ton of calories. And of course when I get off the thing I can really feel it in my legs.
We went from our cardio routine to a fast circuit of step-ups, dead lifts and assisted step-out squats. Man was I sweating! It was so gross! LOL :smilielol5:
Even Kelly mentioned how much I was sweating. Pointing out the fact that I had it dripping off my nose. hahaha (read much sarcasm here!)
By the time we actually got over to the inner and outer thigh machines my legs felt like rubber. So you can only imagine what they felt like after the 2 machines. I could barely walk. I really felt like I was going to fall over!
After taking 2 laps to walk around the track and "shake it out" I finally felt like I would make it.
This past week has been the hardest that I have ever worked in that Fit for Life class.
On Tuesday I actually bench pressed 85lbs!!!! Of course I only did it for 6 reps but I DID IT!!!! People that is ALMOST 1/2 what I weigh. LOL
I also did 2 different sets pull-ups on the assisted pull-up machine. Doing it in the rep schedule of 12, 10, 8, 6, and 12. So in all I did 48 pull ups of both types. For a total of 96 pull ups. As well as all that we also do push-ups between each "type" of exercise. We draw cards from a shuffled up deck and what ever number you draw is the amount you have to do. Jacks, Queens, Kings and Aces are 1, 2, 3, and 4 plus 10. No one wants to pull an Ace. That is 14 push-ups! So depending on what you pull is how many push-ups you do all night. I never got anything less than a 9. And to top it all off I actually forced myself to do them true to form. Not modified. You know knees dropped. I kept my knees off the floor for all of them. :sifone:
I thought my arms would fall off! They still hurt and it is just a bit more than 2 days past.
Now I am just hoping to see a good number on the scale.
Of course the version of TOM that I get, started today. So hopefully that number that I so badly want will show up regardless.
I am hoping to get some time in tomorrow on my elliptical. Though I don't know when it will be. As my daughter has a friend coming over tomorrow to play and I really don't want to be on display during her visit.
So we will see what happens.
I hope that everyone really enjoys the weekend.
Ciao

Wow! I'm feeling the burn just reading about your workout!!! If only I could get the benefits of it via osmosis..haha You are one tough cookie working out like that. :hurray: Now I'm really feeling guilty. lol

If Scalentino doesn't give you a nice number tomorrow, I'm coming over to give him a beating. :smash::smash:

Wow you are really having some awesome workouts. And I can tell you are getting fit just by reading what you have accomplished! WTG!

Awww! Shucks!! :blush5:*Much blushing and toe scuffing going on*:blush5:
I am trying really hard to bust it out at the gym. Now if I could just control my eating better. *Sigh*
It seems the resolve that I had at the beginning of this venture was way stronger than it is right now. LOL
Maybe it's the weather who knows.
I just worry that if I don't get it going on here soon that I will become contented with where I am.
I have never really ever been any smaller than I am now. Of course as I was growing when I was younger I was smaller. But I wasn't at that size long enough to appreciate it. So have no idea what I would feel like physically or mentally.

If you are one to watch the Biggest Loser, and you know who the contestant Ali is, you will then understand how hubby says I will look like when this journey is done. He hadn't seen the show since before they let the people come back on. So when they showed her at the weigh-in before and current, hubby was like that is exactly you! Okay not what I look like currently! LOL
So I at least I have something visiual to shoot for. It's the eating that I need to control.
I guess if all I wanted to do was stay at this weight then I have figured out how to maintain it! LOL Since I don't lose or gain!!! hahaha
But ultimately that is NOT what I want. I don't want to maintain at this weight. I want to go lower.
So there is my latest snarfoo.

Duh! LOL
I forgot to mention that I did lose a pound this week!!! yeah!!!
Got that one on Thursday. With TOM no less.
So I am hoping that next weeks weigh-in will have good results as well.

Gratz on the loss!

I love watching THe Biggest Loser, but often miss it 8(. I did see this week that Dan went home.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks Yarm!
I loved BL this last week. Especially the look on Dan's face when he realized that he got his butt beat good by both girls. Even up to the last second he thought he wouldn't go 'cuz Kelly would go below. Hahaha I loved it!
It was time for him to go. He was just getting way to cocky.
I would love to see Jay or Kelly win it. Preferably Kelly but most likely it will end up being Roger. Since he had the most to lose.

Thanks Sweetie pea for the well wishes.
As with most every weigh-in the weight was up this morning. *Sigh*
I must have the wigglest weight ever!
~~~~
Work went well last night. For once I actually got out early. Okay not really early bit early for me. I was home by 10 after 1am. So I was actually able to get in a full 8 hours of sleep.
I totally blew it last night on the way home from work.
I had to stop and put some gas in my little truck and when I went in to pay they had day old doughnuts for a severely reduced price.
Yup. You guessed it. :banghead::banghead: I bought one of the small bags. :banghead::banghead: It came with 2 jelly filled doughnuts.
And before I could even really think about it I stuffed them in. I am severly ashamed. :nopity:
I even thought well I just won't tell anyone and then it won't be so bad. But that is not true. It is bad. I should never have bought them and certainly should never have eaten them.
I hadn't had a doughnut since before I started this journey. :ack2:
This seems to be the hardest time for me, weight-loss wise. I can't seem to get past this "block" that I am suffering from.
I don't know exactly why I seem to be balking at going any lower. It really does seem to me that I am sabotaging myself.
I have said in the past that I was going to keep better track of my food.
And after much thought I think that that is the only way that I am going to keep myself on the right path.
So from now on I am going to write everything down.
Well that is my new plan. I am going to try my best to stick to it.
Starting today.
You should never feel that any food is off limits - that's when you definitely will splurge on something and when you do, you go all the way. Not "you" but anyone that keeps a certain food off limits. I guess some people function well that way, but I think for the majority of us we have to splurge once in awhile.
Also, you never know if that splurge will jump start your weight loss.
Don't feel guilty about it - just get back on track. Like I know you already are.
:grouphug:
And before I could even really think about it I stuffed them in
I'm certainly no expert on the matter, and have been guilty of similar experiences when tempted by goodies but. . .
Maybe you reacted that way because you feel denied? Are you allowing yourself a treat now and then?
One of the benefits of journaling is to reflect on the when/why of eating habits. I lot easier said than done.
No matter, in the end you just have to get back on the horse! Don't allow a few doughnuts get in the way of so much progress, girlie! Don't beat yourself up about it, or as the saying goes . . "don't get mad, get even!"
:grouphug:
I agree with the other girls about not feeling too guilty about the doughnuts. A bit of indulgence once in awhile isn't a bad thing. The problem is when the indulgences become the norm rather than the exception. Also, saying you can't eat any doughnuts would just make me want them more..lol. I am the queen of having a little bit of naughtiness--I just work it into my calories so it's guilt-free. :biggrinjester:
Congrats on getting a full night's sleep! :party: That's always a great way to start the day. :)
I think that when we get to a weight that's not necessarily our goal, but sooo much better than where we started, it's easy to get a bit complacent. I know I am thoroughly guilty of feeling that way. :D I just keep reminding myself that I cannot rest on my laurels yet..lol. There is still much work to do. :)
