Bellaryna's Journey

Okay
Made it back to the Y last night with just barely enough time to get the C25K in.
Having been on vacation for 2 weeks everyone and their cat wanted to say hi and ask how the vaca was.
That seems to be a major problem for me. The fact that when I go to the Y to work out everyone just assumes I am there to be there. If you catch what I mean.
I did get the full 25 minutes in this time. Had a stitch in my right side and oddly enough on my right collar bone for most of the last 10 minutes. But I was determined to make it thru. And I did. Thought I was gonna fall over :svengo: but I didn't. LOL
Had to be to work at the Y today at 4:30am. Was able to get a mile and a half walk in on the track in between all my duties. Not so much in between them, more like when they were all done. Felt good to get up away from the desk and walk around.
Man oh man are my quads hurtin'!
I think it has to be from the running yesterday, even though I got a really good stretch in. Hoping that they don't feel this sore tomorrow.
Weighed in at 211.2 this morning. Which is down 2.6 from yesterday. I know that it had to be water weight as there is no way that I actually burned off 7000 cals yesterday. Even with the running!
Hoping to see another low number tomorrow morning.
Think I might jump on my elliptical later today.
Really feeling like I want to hit this thing hard. :smash:
Get a good start going. Get below 200 and stay motivated.
Catch ya later.

*Looks around sheepishly and whispers* Week 1 Day 1
Can't wait until I can say I am at week 3.
So how much running are you doing at this point?

LOL you're too funny!!! Well today will be the first day that I have to run 90 seconds, walk 90 secons, run 3 minutes! Yikes!!! Yesterday I finished the program strong.. then I walked and jogged on and off for another mile. Im trying not to take a break between days. My neck is killing me though. I thought maybe I strained it lifting weights but it almost feels like a pinched nerve. Heating pad isn't working and its not sore to the touch and nothing seems to help! VICODIN PLEASE!!

:bigear: Right on with your lOSSSSSSSS!!! Yay! Isn't it refreshing and encouraging?? I think I might have to do was ddwise does and hide the scale in the car :( 2 and 4am weighting isnt a good thing. Im horrible! I feel crappy today.. hoping the day will get better.

You've got to be kidding!!!!!!
3 minutes!!! :svengo: *Hold on.......picking self up from the floor*
Guess I should have read thru the whole program before I started on it! hahaha I mean how else did I think I would get to 5k? Silly me. :smilielol5:
I was thinking about doing the running everyday but......
that is how I ended up hurting my shoulder last year. I was gangbuster everyday M-Th. Doing some pretty hard core lifting, and core workouts.
So I am a little scared to push it to far.
I mean what happens if my legs really, really hurt or I get shin-splints? Then I won't want to run at all. *Cring*
What do you think?

Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well. :(
I am a compulsive weigher myself!!! Love summer cuz' I have less clothes to whip off to weigh. You know for that fast weigh-in!! hahaha
I don't let myself get to fixed on the number NOT going down. I just get antsy when I see it going up. So I don't think I have a problem with the scale.
I could quit anytime I wanted to.
Maybe............:)

Ye-Hah!
I completed Day 2 of my Couch to 5K.
On the track that we have at the YMCA you need to do 13 laps to complete 1 mile.
I was able to complete 23 laps in 25 minutes!!!
I was absolutely taken back when I got done and looked down at the lap ticker in my hand to see the number 23.
So now I have a number to try and beat.
Was talking to one of our Members today and told him that I had started running. He is a marathon runner.
He gave me some great tips on stretching and such.
As we got to talking (and my continued exclamations of how I couldn't believe I had done so well) he challenged me to run a mile.
I told him there was no way I could run a mile straight thru. He told me that I shouldn't sell myself so short.
The end result of the conversation is this:
When I am on my 3rd week of the Cto5K plan him and I are going to run a mile together. He offered to be my pace runner, sort of like encouragment right next to me. Even offered to run at my pace not his normal pace. Which by the way is freakin' fast! LOL The man looks like a gazelle going around that track. It's actually a beautiful thing to see.
Was no new weight loss on the scale this morning but I think that was mostly due to not drinking enough water yesterday and have a small portion of ham and bean soup for dinner last night. Can you say SALTY!
But it was so Mmmm, Mmmmmm Good. Made it from scratch. Cornbread muffins too. I only had one of those. ;)
I plan to go to bed early tonight and have had 100oz of water so far today. I will most likely drink another liter before bed since I lost alot of fluid sweating while I was running.
Well I am off to log my food.
Later Gators!

Today has a been a good day. :)
Though a long one. :ack2: Getting up at 3:45 in the morning can really make a gal tired! LOL
Today is suppose to be an off day for my Couch to 5K plan but I keep feeling like I want to go run again.
Could it be I actually caught the running bug after only 2 tries?
Though I really want to go out running again, I have no time this evening.
Have a church function to attend. Tomorrow I am going to sleep in a bit, say until 5am, and head up to the Y so that I can get my day 3 run in. As I have to be to my "real" job at 3pm.
Eating has been going well and this morning when I jumped on the scale it showed a .4 pound loss.
Woohoo!
I think the continued droppage of pounds (big and small) is what has me really motivated to run.
That and reading some articles about some of the Biggest Loser contestants and how they run like 5-6 miles a day!
That'll burn off some cals! LOL
Well gotta head on outta here.
Ciao

Hey Bella!!! Just sliding thru to see how its going. Yipeee for the running bug! I think i've caught it too!! I hope to get better and be able to be a long distance runner. In high school I used to run track but I only did sprints and have always had a hard time trying to pace myself for any type of distance. I think that goes true for every part of my life!!! Im high strung, face paced.. always hurry hurry hurry!!! I want results now!! hahahaha.. I guess the Lord is trying to teach me patience. Good job on dropping some weight too! Keep focused.. we can do this!

Tootles

Thanks for stopping by A.C.S
I never ever was a runner. Not even in school.
When I was in middle school they use to make us run "out to the water tower and back". Blech!
I hated it. Making a kid run who never ever runs was not going to foster a love of it.
They quit doing that when a few years later some guy approached one of the girls running. Weirdos are everywhere.
Haven't got my run in yet today but will before noon.

Another 1.6 pounds down!!!!
Yeeha!!!

unless you count the nasty spider I found in my dirty clothes in my bedroom. Currently he is in residence in a jar with a lid (no holes! LOL)
Looked him up on the net and I am just about 100% sure that it is a brown recluse as I have never ever seen a spider like this before. Big brown and ugly! *getting goose bumps thinking about it* *cring* :ack2:
Wrote some professor dude in Illinois to see if it wants the stupid thing. Apparently he is doing some kind of a study on spiders and which ones live where, yada, yada, yada.
So that's it for now catch ya'll later.
Have a great weekend!

3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. 5 Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6a He is not here, but is Risen!!!

Hey you , Ive been menaing to stop by for a long time...

First of all thanx for the pointers on my shakes, once I started added some splenda, they got easier and more enjoyable.

Your food looks good!

Congrats on your weight loss and for starting the couch to 5k. Im having nast shin splints and leg problems but a friend of mine wants to start running, I will give it a go with her adn tell her she needs to take it easy on me:)I will hold her back but i need to find my running pace.

A minister's wife hey, how is that:)?

Yesterday turned out to be a rougher day than I anticipated.
Our Senior ministers wife at our church (my dh is the children's minister) has been battling a brain tumor for nearly 2 years. As of January they decided to stop doing any treatments since they were not having any positive results at all.
So my friend has been slowly declining. It has been really hard to watch her go from this vibrant, active woman to someone who seems to have aged over night.
On Thursday morning she stopped breathing for a minute. We thought we had lost her. But she started to breath again on her own.
After that they brought in Hospice as it was apparent that things were going now at a faster rate than before.
I scrapped my run yesterday to go and visit with her. She was sleeping, looking so very peaceful. I know that she will be in Heaven with Jesus. Completely healed. I did pray with her and I feel that regardless of anything she knows that I was there asking God to hold her in his hand. To bring her family comfort. I will miss her terribly.
She is my greatest mentor when it comes to how to be a minister's wife. Without her I would have floundered around like a fish outta water.
I just don't know what I am going to do without her.
Thoughts of her encompassed the rest of my day.
It was a difficult day to say the least.
I look forward to the day when I will be able to once again see her in her fullness of health. Laughing and planting flowers in her garden. Playing with her grandchildren.
Lord you are an amazing and wonderful God.
Without you we would have no hope at all. But thru your Sons death on the cross and his resurrection we know that we have life once again.

Hi C-relly
Glad to see you stopped by.
Being a ministers wife is a fulfilling job!
I love watching children praise and worship God.
And when they get it, they really get it.
Unlike adults they hold nothing back. There is no fear of what there friends might think. They just put it all out there.

I am liking the 5K thing. Didn't get to run yesterday (see previous post) and dh let me sleep in so late today that I won't have time today either.
So will pick it back up on Monday.

Thanks for the kudos with the weight-loss. I really think that the running is what is kick starting it.
I had shin splints once. Funny though not from running! LOL :smilielol5:
From walking in some really bad shoes for waaaay to long.
I am trying really hard this time to keep the food under control. For me I have found that as long as I stay away from bread I do really well with controlling my diet.
Guess you could say I am a bit of a bread-a-holic!
Well I gotta run.
Need to get ready to head off to work.
C'ya later!
:seeya:

Completely forgot! Duh!!
Weighed in at 208.6 this morning.
That is another
.6 drop!!!!

Either I was really bloated up from my vacation or I am really kicking some serious booty!!!
Gotta go!!!

How awsome is that!!! Another loss.. you are doing great!!!!!! Im excited to do my measurements and weigh in tomorrow too. I have been really puttin forth the effort and feel like im on a great road.

Thank you for always stoppiong by. I like reading about your journey and am blessed by it as well.

I was reading another post that someone put up here that you answered.. about your kids really gettin it.. gosh isnt it amazing?? I have a 7 year old and she came home from school and goes mom, I will meet you in heaven.. im like oh ya baby? She said yes, I asked Jesus into my heart today and then scited her favorite verse.. "grass withers and flowers fade but the word of our God stands forever"! How you can you not praise God at that! Its been wonderful.

Easter is one of our favorite days around here.. not about bunnies hopping around but about our risen Lord! Have a blessed one.

Tootles! :seeya:

Hopping in with a new weight loss number!!
Came in at and even 208!!!

Woohooo!
I am back baby!!!! *Giggling with glee*

That's another .4 pounds down.
I am beginning to feel like I am on the biggest loser. LOL :smilielol5:

I am really hoping to drop at least another .4 before tomorrow's weigh in.
That would put me at an even 6 pound loss for the week.

6 POUNDS!!!

AwwwwYeah!

Well stink on a stick!
I didn't drink all my water yesterday and got barely enough sleep so the scale didn't show any additional loss' this morning. *Dang it!* It actually showed a 1 pound gain. Which I know is not true as I did not eat in excess yesterday nor did we have an Easter dinner. Since I work the weekends we tend to celebrate weekend holidays during the week. Much more conveinant that way and gives me a chance to actually enjoy it instead of running out the door.
I was soooo hoping to be able to say that I lost 6 pounds in one week. I imagine tomorrow's weigh-in will be a different story.
Haven't gotten up to doing my run yet. Thinking about going here in a bit. But with my being so tired and having to get up at 3:45 in the morning I have to wonder if it wouldn't be better to just wait until tomorrow when I get off of work (at the YMCA).
I want to enjoy the run not feel like it will never get over with.
Ate really well this weekend which in and of itself is a tremendous feat.
Even though we personally don't have a big meal on Easter our church always puts on an Easter Brunch.
Had about 3 eggs (eyeballed) scrambled.
2 pieces of toast with a bit of jam
1 small (and I do mean small!) pancake with a small amount of syrup
and 2 smokey links.
I did splurge a bit and ate a Reeses Peanut Butter Easter Egg.
Got it from my Secret Sister. As well as a about 10 cute little chocolate crispy bunnies. I handed the baby bunnies out to all the kids that were sitting at my table. Well all but two that is. *Grin*
We did go out for lunch after church and it was my pick.
I chose Mexican. My all time favorite food.
Usually I would get a Fried Chicken Chimichanga with all the "stuff", as well as the beans and the rice. Add in the all you can eat chips and you can understand why I am at the size I am.
But yesterday I didn't order the usual.
Instead I had a grilled chicken salad. Cheese and dressing on the side.
Had them put extra Pico de Gallo on the salad to spice things up a bit. I did have about 3 big chips and probably 4-5 small ones.
Other than those two meals I ate incrediably well for the rest of the day.
Dinner was the rest of the salad that I couldn't finish earlier in the day as well as my usual organic yogurt with Splenda, granola and fresh fruit.
Add in 1/2 of a personal size watermelon and the day rounded out very well.
Today has gone well food wise too.
Breakfast
Organic yogurt w/ granola and Splenda
Snack
Organic yogurt w/ granola and Splenda
Lunch
Chicken Snack Wrap, grilled no sauce (McD's)
Vanilla ice cream, basically a sundae with no topping
64oz of unsweetened ice tea
Dinner
can of tuna in water
tbsp Kraft mayo w/ olive oil
tbsp sweet pickle relish
1tsp mustard
fat slice of red onion diced
2 cups of bagged salad
1/2 a red pepper
2oz sliced 'shrooms
1 whole tomato
Mixed it all together and it was one tasty Tuna Salad!
Well I am feeling very tired so I think that I am going to head on outta here and off to bed.
Later Gators!
