Before/Inbetween/Almost After - Pooh Style

Hey guys,

I am new here. I am trying to lose about 15 more lbs (already lost about 57 or so) Start weight was 280, now I am about 222-223. I would like to start toning up a bit (I am already a bit muscular, just underneath some of the remaining pudge). At anyrate, here are some photos to get an idea of where I started and where I am at now.

UPDATE STUFF March 27: Newest pics are located on Page 5, http://weight-loss.fitness.com/befo...een-almost-after-pooh-style-5.html#post417056 , Obviously those "15 more lbs" weren't enough for me.

More update stuff April 21: Decided to directly link these pictures so you don't have to read through everything

Some more... last head shot was done about a week ago.

Sorry for all the Math work in the background <--- Teacher :)

Jeans went from 46 to 36-38 depending on the cut. Shirts 2X to XL (some even L).

I feel so much healthier and YOUNG! I feel younger now at 27 than I did when I was 25!

People ask me how I lost so much weight... I tell them I got divorced :)

Wow... that is so great!
Its so great to see people who have lost so much weight and feel great about themselves .. I just really started ..

peluche/natalie: thanks, means a lot to me. Problem is two fold... I don't see the "dramatic" difference like everyone else says. So it can be discouraging to me... also, now people are telling me I'm getting TOO thin... which is complete bullshit to me. If I'm not happy than I am not happy... but moreover, they seem to want me to stay a bit heavier than them, like my brother, for the first time in two decades I am thinner than he is... so he says I am looking sickly. Fuck that.

You transform yourself from a person who loved food (hehe :) ,don't we all? ) to a man who obviously takes care of his health :) Keep it up!

Thank you... I have noticed that there are many health benefits including my blood pressure going from 140/90 to 115/70 (very healthy).

Diabetes runs in my family... so its a matter of time when I will have it... it's better to have it at 80 than having it at 55 like my father.

I am pre-diabetic myself. I take two Metaformins a day at meal times.
I have cut out sugar... I do eat a small amount of sweet pot... but not the white pota... just abbreviating ..lol

but anyway .. I can understand the diabetic problem ... with later age, but no ..you don't want it now ...

I would never want it ..and it does not run in the family .. I am pre because I am weighing 299-300 right now

So I understand you there... my mother says she can see some weight loss ...but my bf can't ..go figure! oh well , such is life, eventually I am sure he will notice. He so desperately wants to know my weight, but I don't tell him ..if he knew ...he would keel over ..
he started dating me at 250 ..yikes ..what a jump in three years ..I have spent the last year taking of twelve pounds ...

but I hope you see what we see someday .. We see a very fit man ... who should be proud of what he has done with his body ...

Good for you!

Think of the positive ..or try to ..
don't pay attention to your brother, just relish your weight loss ...

good luck

You are right though, the problem is twofold. I am in the EXACT same boat as you. I feel great, I know the clothes have all gotten way to big and I have also lost almost 60 pounds..... So why does the same 300 pound fat man look back at me in the mirror every morning? Purely psychological I am sure and not fun at all. But trust me, you look like a perfectly normal healthy guy. I am sure underneath the clothes it is all jiggly and not quite there yet (much like myself) but that just comes with time.

I too get the people telling me I am skinny enough or too skinny now. Once again, psycological I am sure. They are used to seeing a bigger fatter you and have gotten to accept that person. Now they are afraid (or perhaps envioous) that you are NOT that person anymore that they have known.

Both problems will go away with time I am sure. But in any case, right now you look great and needn't worry about the mirror, your brother or anyone else other than yourself.

sirant

p.s. - Are you a teacher by any chance? Looks like you are standing in a high school hallway and with the shorts, the golf shirt and the stance you look EXACTLY like every stereotypical gym teacher I have ever seen....... :)

Sirant,

I think you and I will be getting along just fine here :) Good to share the same sentiments with you! Thanks for the words of encouragement as well.

I am a teacher... Math though. Except, its funny that you think I look like a gym teacher! Heh... Only reason I dressed that way that day was because I was indeed golfing later in the afternoon! Good call tho!

Heh, it wasn't even so much the clothes as the stance. With the hands on your hips like that I can see every gym teacher I have ever had barking at us to move our asses and pass the damn ball!!

I am a teacher too, though I teach business English is China to adults. I used to teach kindegarden here, but man, those kids suck the life right out of you, especially when 300 pounds! However, even though teaching 20-50 year olds it still feels like kindy when they all start whining and complaining about homework and snapping elastics at each other.....

Yeah, high school kids call me Captain Hardass... I am fair but don't take the same bullshit like their other teachers. Still, I love teaching even though it's a shit paying job... it has allowed me to basically eat more healthier than say other jobs. I can easily eat every three - four hours and control water flow (I bought a fridge for my room).

Another side note, I am currently "renewed" in my goal efforts to lose some more weight. I have a bet with my friend who weighs about the same as I do now... he needs to get to 205 before I get to 210 (reason for the difference is I gave him 5 lbs of water weight, even though I know he will lose it quicker because he hasn't tried in years). This has brought a totally new fire to my determination and I can actually see myself winning this. If I don't win I won't be discouraged because he has been talking about getting this weight off for some time now and if anything I totally motivated his dumb ass to doing something about it.

Wow, talking about this is REALLY refreshing!

Natalie jo,

I have known SEVERAL people who have lost a good deal of weight and have been able to be completely removed from diabetes medications (even serious level 2 people). So there is hope and if you really want it... it will happen. It sucks because right now... you are addicted. Almost everyone here was... it just takes time to realize you won't miss your old eating habits. Ironically, if I eat the way I used to, I instantly get sick. Like... throw up sick! I can't handle it anymore; you might be thinking, "That won't be me!" but i assure you, it will be. Number one helper for me at meals (so I don't overeat) Full glass of water and take a few swigs every 2-4 bites. Works like a charm... I am fortunate enough to have never been the guy to SNACK on sweets and chips. I don't crave it... my problem was over-eating at meals. Doesn't mean I didn't eat that stuff, I just never ate half a bag at a sitting, so giving it up was a non-issue with me.

Good luck!

Yea .. I know ..
thanks for responding and I am prepared for a new me .. it will take time ...and a great amount of work to get the weight off, but I am prepared to do it ...

How are you today?

oooh math teacher - and a cute one at that... back when I was young - ya know when the dinosaurs walked the earth - the math teachers surely didn't look like you... but that's probably a good thing, it would have been distracting...

:eek2: Wow... that just made me feel like a million bucks. Yeah, I don't get the whole "cute" thing much. I appreciate it!

Omg It's My Math Teacher AT GEORGE WASHINGTON HIGH SCHOOL!! Mr. Nugmen! What . Omg !!!! What Are The Chances! You Look Great Btw! Fantastic!

You look cooler than any math teacher I've had! Although many of them do have the bald thing going on. Somehow, however, I don't think it was on their own free will!

Congratulations on you weight-loss thus far! You look great! good luck in losing those last 15 pounds!

Hey everyone, here's a quick update. A year later! Started on my B-day last year and I am a year older but feel 10 years younger! Went from 280 to 208, still have about 18 left to go (I changed my goals after realizing 190 is where I should be). So here are some in-betweens still, but a much better visual of where I came from is on the first page.

So the changes are this...

Size 46 waist to a 36 waist (sometimes a 38 if I want to be able to breathe)

Size 2X shirt to a Large.

Size 19.5 neck to a 16.5.

Confidence from a 0 to a 73 (out of a hundred).
