Hi all. I'm Greg and I'm recently new here. I started my journey Jan 1st of this year, and have already lost 25 lbs. I'm proud of myself for getting this far, and thought I'd share with you all! I've dropped a pant size and a shirt size. Hopefully I'll find the support here to keep going!

That's my friend Veronica...we're losing weight together

And that's where I'm at so far! It's hard to keep up motivation and enthusiasm for this long...I have stayed at the same weight for a few weeks now...any tips for getting back that initial drive?

Wow, you look absolutely wonderful, Greg! Congratulations on the weight loss!!

Trust me hon, you'll find the support you need. I certianly am. And really, you look marvelous! You look so lean in that last pic!

You look great. How tall are you..you look alot lighter than 220 in your pic.

As for motivation...that's an individual thing...you might try weight lifting to add some muscle, you'll be able to see yourself grow now that you have 30lbs of fat off ya...

Thank you both so much! I've been lifting every other day for about a week and a half now, and am already seeing tiny lines here and there, which is pretty exciting. I'm exactly 6 feet.

Again, thanks for the compliments. They are very encouraging :)

You are looking great man! Aweome job so far. Glad to see you started on the weights. You will see a big difference.

:hurray:Well done! What an obvious difference already! You will look simply *STELLAR* when you are at your goal!

Be sure to encourage your gal pal, as she will likely not drop the pounds as quickly as you. DON'T GIVE UP when you are at a plateau! Just change your routine, either regarding your calorie intake or your exercise.

Do you have a plan for healthier eating, too? I may have missed that in your post. There are great sites about how many calories you need for your height, etc.

Best wishes on your journey!

Thanks so much all of you! It's really wonderful to hear such great things from other people, especially some who have had huge transformations!

What I usually do for excercise is on Tue, Wed, and Sat, I do 30 min of core training and then 45 min of interval training on the elliptical or bike. Then on Mon, Wed, and Fri, I alternate upper and lower body weight training, and 30-45 min of elliptical or bike. It's been working great for the past month. I also take an hour-long ballet class Mon and Fri (which is extremely difficult, but my flexibility and balance has greatly improved!). I try to fit in other classes at the gym here and there, like step aerobics and kickboxing. I rest on Sundays.

I have very early classes throughout the week, so eating breakfast is sometimes very hard for me. I try to eat some weight control oatmeal and an apple, but if time doesn't allow I just take the apple and go. I eat out a lot, because I really can't cook, so sometimes it's dangerous because I don't know exactly what I'm getting. But most restaraunts and food places have healthy menus and nutrition info thingys, which are very helpful. I try to keep my daily caloric intake to about 1200-1500 a day, which equates to 3 small meals and some snacking room in bewtween. I eat lots of salads, chicken, fish, fruit, and veggies whenever I can. This method has worked for me. Whenever I get desperately hungry (which is most of the time late at night), I grab the baby carrots and the low fat peanut butter! One thing I miss though....chipotle burritos. Those were the cause of my initial downfall. I treat myself to one once a month, even though they are absolutely horrendous for you.

And that's been my plan for the past month. I find it harder to keep up with it as time goes on...I'm in kind of a stabilization period...but I think a week or two of taking it easy will be good for me, and then getting back to the plan 100%.

Again, thanks for all of your support :)

wow! you are doing GREAT! so inspiring! :coolgleamA:

your face shows all the difference!!!

wow! you look great! don't give up! remember how you felt before you lost the weight! when i feel like giving up i think about how the food will be gone in less than an hour and then you will be upset if you ate something you shouldn't

Good luck :)

Thank you all for all of your amazing support. I'm flattered to be considered as inspiring! And here I thought I was just losing weight. :D

Thank you all again...I've finally gotten back into the swing of things: going to the gym every day, keeping my eating habits under control, etc. I've already lost another pound! I feel great again now that I'm excercising regularly...don't know why I stopped! Also, I find that my mood has been improving a lot lately too.

I feel great, thanks so much!

Hey, you look great! Congrats on your loss. I think that it's great you are doing this with your friend. Having a friend to lose weight with and keep each other accountable on a daily basis is a terrific thing to have. I hope both of you can reach your goals :)

PS I totally know what you mean about Chipotle burritos. They are so good but such bastards to the scale, lol.

Yeah you can really see the difference. I've started writing a blog and using the tools at extrapounds plus have roped my bf into do the C25K running program with me too. It's much easier to run when you are doing it with someone else. And this online sites are an inspiration cos they prove there a loads of people being successful. Thanks for sharing your pics.

Thank you everyone! Haven't updated in a while, due to end of the year craziness and not making the best choices in food...But finals week is over, and now I can start focusing on losing weight once again. I have lost more weight since I last updated and I now weigh 195 lbs. I was so happy the day I got under 200! But anyway, here's a face comparison:

October '07 - 250lbs.

I can't wait to get back into the swing of things. I'm going to make this summer the one where I acheive my goals!
