Before and Halfway

I've got a new thread about me losing 200 lbs over here. Should probably close this one.

Hey all. I've been on the forums for a while now, mainly hanging out in the Off-topic and Club sections, occasionally venturing into the Exercise and On Topic sections :D. Seeing as how I hit halfway a week or two ago, I figured I might as well go ahead and post up some a progress pic.

I started out at 229 kgs (504.8 lbs) (though the pic on the left is of me at 227 kgs) and I'm now down to 160.2 kgs (353.1 lbs).

I've watermarked the pic with the url of my blog to (hopefully) thwart scam sites (not that they'd want to use my pic anyway :D)

But yeah, I've still got a long way to go, but it's a LOT less than when I started :D

That's amazing! Half way is such a good place to be, because the bulk of your bulk is behind you! How long did your first half take?

Wow congrats:hurray:!!!! That is a great big accomplishment. How did you lose it all? You look great. Keep up the good work bud =)

I've been really at it for just a bit over a year I think. So, still a long time to go, but it's a lifetime thing, so it doesn't matter :)

Being aware of calories, both input and output, really. "Diet" and exercise :) I put diet in quotes because it's not very strict, have the odd treat now and then, the odd drink-up :D You just either compensate or take the hit on the scale and let it work itself out next week.

Haha, racing's not really my thing, but hopefully it won't take us too long :D

Cheers for the offer, man. And good luck with your weight loss!

Wow man. That's amazing. How did you manage lose all that weight? Like what kind of exercises do you do and what did you eat?

My exercise started out just walking back and forth in the living room for a few minutes because that's all I could really muster. That progressed into walking outside. Started weight training thanks to the advice here in the stickies and such. Oh, and every Sunday we play sports (soccer, touch rugby, touch football) for around 3 hours.

Eating, I just worked out my BMR, used the Harris Benedict equation to figure out how much calories I'd need to maintain, and came up with some menus that'd put me at a caloric deficit.

I think the losses average out to about 3 lbs a week, which puts me at around 1% a week, which I believe I've read is a healthy target.

Dude! that's awesome! Keep up the good work!

Thanks :) It's easily done with a program like Gimp.
