UPDATE: 9/29/2010: I ADDED A NEW PHOTO. CLICK HERE.

My other updates are here.

In March 2009, I tipped the scales at 345 pounds, and I vowed to never get that overweight again. So far, I have lost about 63 lbs, and plan on losing about 80 more.

The first two pics are from December 2008:

Good job so far!Can see such a big difference in your weight!!!Please tell us are you working out or just been on a diet?Keep up the great work!

Thanks Jasper! Basically, cutting out sugar and carbs and exercising a LOT. I try to mix up lots of cardio with light weightlifting, but as my weight comes down, I plan on increasing my weightlifting regimen. I'm about 6' or so, and I don't want to bulk up on my frame right now, so I'm trying to lose more fat before I really go hard with my strength training.

I agree with not lifting to much now and doing more cardio.you ve done really good till now so keep up the good work!and keep us updated!

Great work so far!

However, you really should get into some serious resistance training. You're not going to bulk up - on the contrary, you need to lift weights to maintain the muscle mass you have. Resistance training is always a win.

Yeah, I try to work on my upper body M/W/F and my lower body on T/Th/Sat. I hate to admit that I've been slipping a bit, and reducing my weight lifting to 3 days/wk. But I plan to increase it again. Also, I want to hire a personal trainer in order to help me with my form. I do dumbbell flies and pullovers right now with free weights. I want to definitely figure out how to increase my regimen and still maintain my fat loss.

I'm adding in a more recent pic of me so you all can take a look. I can tell my face isn't as "full" as it was. What do you guys think?

I still have about 70 more pounds or so that I want to lose.

ETA: I added a picture of me from March 2009 to contrast to the picture I took the other day.

Quick update. I've lost 80 lbs in 8 months! Just 20 more before I hit the big 100! I know I'll have another 40 or so more lbs to lose after that, but losing 100 lbs will be a huge accomplishment I am looking forward to.

I went out of town for Thanksgiving and got a lot of compliments about my weight loss from relatives and friends. I am attaching a picture of me from Thanksgiving 2008 and a second photo from Thanksgiving 2009 as a compare/contrast. It's quite obvious my belly is a lot smaller than it was last year judging by these pictures. My dad and I always have this tradition of taking pictures of grabbing our bellies and looking as silly as possible after eating the big meal, which explains the pics. Obviously, I'll be eating as healthily as possible until Christmas time.

My brother has lost roughly 85 lbs in the last year. I will be back to attach some before/after pictures with me and him together in order for you guys to see our accomplishments.

Way to go! That's great progress. You look FANTASTIC! Keep it up, and wishing you all the best as you continue your journey and work closer towards 100 lbs lost.

As promised, I am adding some more images. This time, I will include some pictures of my brother and I in previous years vs this year.

June 2005: I wasn't at my peak weight, but my brother was. I think he was almost 370 lbs in this pic. I think I was hovering at about 315 or so:

The next two are from September 2008. I was at around 340ish, my brother was in the 360s.

This year, my brother and I made a vow to lose weight. He actually started before I did. He lives in another city, and unlike the city I live in, it's relatively walkable in many places, so his method of exercise is to walk.

He's lost about 85 lbs, and I've lost about 80. This has been a pretty friendly competition, but we can get "unfriendly" sometimes. But we've both given each other good tips and advice about how to continue along in our journeys.

Sorry for the lack of updates folks. It's been a weird year so far. Essentially, I've been gaining and losing the same 15 lbs for the last few months. I've been dealing with attempting to finish grad school plus I had a death in the family that threw me off quite a bit.

I'm back on the healthy eating wagon again, and hopefully, I can lose the remaining weight that I am attempting to lose. I have been incorporating more weight lifting lately as well.

Contrast those pics from a pic I took back in 2008. I keep on forgetting just how huge I was:
