Before and During...Not Done Yet!!!

I went to a bar dinner last night, it is one of those slighly dressy affairs so I got a dress, Jones New York 124 down to 44 dollars (yay!) size 12P (I know I am not a 12 but it was still nice to see on the tag...)

Thought I would share a pic of how I looked - I got complimented by a few attorneys so all in all it was a good night for me...

Still can't get over how 'normal' I look...

Sorry it is blurry, my hand shook a little but you get the idea...

The whole waist thing is so facinating to me - I can't remember ever having one but I looked back at some old pics of me and there it was...good to know, it will serve me well in the future...

Since this is my thread and I am desperately trying to stay awake, I'm going to post some old HS pics of myself here so you guys can see where I am going in another 20 lbs or so...the one in the black dress is my HS prom pic and the white dress is the prom from the year before...so we are talking 94 and 93 respectively :) the last one is from my graduation day in 94...I think I have this dress in my attic...I wonder if it would fit?

If I posted any of these before I'm sorry, I'm to lazy to go back and check...again, my thread :) no one is forcing anyone to look, hehe.

Your arms and shoulders look so much better today then they did 15 years ago. It is nice to see a glimpse of that boodie that I've heard such good things about.
 
I noticed that also, the only thing I can figure is that while I am probably a little more ravaged now from gaining so much weight and then losing it (in the sense that my 180 body in 1994 was much tighter than my 180 pound body now) I am way more physically fit now in terms of strength and endurance than I ever was at any weight.

I like it b/c I can get back down to my pre-fat weight and I will look 100 times better :)

And that's why women are so much better then girls. Well, that and experience speaks volumes.

You got that right - I wish I was the person I am now, then. Totally different in terms of confidence. That makes all the difference. The girl in those pics thought very little of herself and made decisions accordingly.

Can't go back but I can't wait to move ahead...
 
IMHO I think you look just as good now as you did back then. Actually, I like your look now. (Perhaps the corruption makes the difference? lol)

I'm a totally different person now then I was in High School. What seemed so important then just isn't. And it's those things that I think were making me hold myself back.

Never thought that going back was desirable. It's funny, though, I went to my High School reunion two years ago. Everyone was shocked at how much I changed. I was surprised that many people hadn't.
 
That doesn't surprise me at all...I think in the end, most people don't change, really. It involves a self-awareness that most people lack.

I would go back physically, that's about all...oh, wait, that's what I'm doing :) Just better.
 
Ali, you've done an amazing job. I've just started reading your posts and they make me want to go back and read about your whole journey to where you are today. From the little bit that I've read so far, it seems like you've made over more than just your outward appearance. You truly are an inspiration!

Thanks - I think I am prejudiced in that I still see that person as someone I want to be again, physically, I am a little slow to pick up on the fact that really, I am that person. It may very well take me getting past it (weight wise) to see that I was really there :)

Oh man, some of my posts are...ahem...colorful to say the least :D I think that you will see that I really hit a spot a few months ago where confidence wise, things started to click for me, I was happy to have it happen, believe me. Thanks for the kind words, I'm not sure how entertaining my posts are but I'm happy you are interested :)
