(*Updated) Before and Current - 219 to (163) now 150 lbs

Hi everyone!

So...I've been a longtime lurker here, but up until now I've never really had the courage to post anything. On December 28, 2007, I embarked on journey to lose weight. I was 18 years old and 219 pounds (nothing could really be more soul destroying). On August 28, 2008, I weighed in at 163 pounds, meaning 56 pounds lighter. I left for college a couple of days later, and here I am almost two months later at the same weight. While I'm proud that I've been able to maintain, I want to continue on with my weight loss so that I can get to my ultimate goal of 135 pounds. I figured that posting here would be the best way to start part 2 of my weight loss.

Before - 219
Current - (163) *150 lbs
Height - 5'3"

As you can see from the pics I suffer from big bootyism and mother hips....hopefully that will get better with time lol.

*Update 11/07/09: Just wanted to post two new pictures. I'm down 13 pounds since I last posted. I haven't posted in a while cause school gets in the way which means I focus more on maintaining my weight as opposed to losing. However, this past summer I had a lot of time on my hands so I changed things up and started doing strength training on top of the cardio, breaking the dreaded plateau! I've also come to realize that weightloss is not always reflected on the scale, and that I should be proud of my big bootyism and mother hips lol. (I must admit, however, sometimes I have a hard time seeing the difference between my 163lbs body and the current 150lbs.)

1st pic: 219
2nd and 3rd pic: 163lbs
4th and 5th pic: 150lbs

Congratulations on your accomplishments thus far!!!! It is very encouraging to see your success. I have a comparable story except I am only at 199lbs so far, but to see pictures of people and how their efforts have paid off is true motivation for me to keep going. So thanx for posting!!!! (And very nice waist by the way)!

That's great that at your age you're will to comitt yourself to losing the weight and above that... you were able to maintain it through a time period where most gain more weight.

Congrats.

And you look fantastic... I love your physique. It will only get better as you refine too.

thank you Steve, that means a lot! you are like my hero!

Cybermama, thanks for the encouragement, I also saw your thread and was amazed by your results!

thank you prettymoney! As for your question, I think the answer is different for everyone. For me, its always been about pushing myself even when I mess up. I've had times when I work really hard during a week, to then completely ruin all my efforts in one night. You just gotta keep going!

you look great! keep up the good work and beware of the college cafe...that place is loaded with calories...:O)

thanks blah7997! yeah the college cafeteria has cost me a couple of pounds during finals week but now that i'm on vacation, my plan is to work them off and keep on going.

Finally someone I found that is around my heigh and weight.
Well sorta. We had the same starting weight, and I just kept
getting discourage but this helps. I lost 20 something pounds. I don't think
anyone has really notice to much and I'm just thinking when are people
finally going to see results. Well your doing good and this makes me get more
inspired to loose weight Keep up the good work (=

hey cup_o_nooldesXD, I'm glad I was able to be of some help, and congratulations on those 20 pounds! Don't get discouraged about people not noticing yet, the most important thing is that you see it. I know people started noticing my weightloss a good 30 pounds in, some of them even told me that they had noticed it before but they weren't sure if they should say anything lol.
