Before, after, now!

I've decided to put the pics back up. I lost almost 30lb since March 2006. I was overweight at the time, and I felt really bad about myself. I also smoked, partied too much (= too much alcohol), binged and did zero exercise.

In only a month I've managed to put back on what took me several months to shed by watching carefully what I ate and working out a lot. Quite demotivating, although while I do feel bad about it, it's not that BAD. It's just that it's so easy for me to put weight back on very very quickly, and I'm fed up of yo-yoing. I could easily put it all back on in 3 months (something I have achieved in the past) so I have to be very careful.

I used to have a thread here, but I put the pics down due to some comment about how my before pic wasn't "bad" enough. I was never obese, but noticeably overweight and very sedentary.

Before - Overweight (BMI of about 27)

After - BMI 21 - July 2007 - 28lb gone in "THE DRESS"

Now - BMI 22.5 - Post Holiday Excess

Bah.. bugger anyone who feels the need to judge you. Do it for yourself (which I'm sure you've done) and don't ever let anyone's comments get to you. If anything, I think you look great in pic #3. :D

You're right - that's what everyone said at the time. I guess the weight issue is a sensitive one for everyone here so I probably got upset for nothing.

Thank you :)

Hello, this is the male population of the planet. We approve of the dress. That is all.

Seriously, great work! Don't get down about putting weight back on, just learn from what happened and keep it in mind. I did a similar thing this year, and I'm just now back to where I was 8 months ago.

Wow, you did a fabulous job and you look awesome in that dress! Losing 30lbs is not an easy feat to pull off so congrats on doing it before and I'm sure you'll be able to do it again. :)

Oh and please don't let a few comments get to you. If you were unhappy with your body and felt the need to lose weight, then it's your prerogative to do so and to hell what anyone else thinks. I didn't see the original thread but based on what you just posted, you made some healthy lifestyle changes and that should be applauded and encouraged!

I'm getting there... faster than I thought. I should stop beating myself up about a few lbs - as long as it stays a few lbs and I do something right away then it shouldn't be a problem right. Thanks for the encouraging posts :)

Haha and thanks everyone for the flattery! Can't wait to fit into that dress again... give me another few weeks!
I had it for a long time but never dared wearing it. Yes women are stupid like that. I wore it once and soon realised that it can't have been that bad. I'm happy with what I look like now, but there are no pictures of me really from aged 12 to age 19, so it's been a looong journey!!

You look great in all the pix, but regardless of where you started, you like you best when you're at the weight where you want to be. (I'm not sure that made any sense...).

Point is weather we need to lose 5 lbs or 500 lbs, it doesn't matter, we're trying to become healthy and to look and feel our best! Nobody should tell you that your before pix aren't "bad enough!" That's nonsense.

Just promise to post another pic when you're back in the dress ;)

Also check out Blancita's journal, she goes into being just above goal weight and the struggles involved in maintaining a healthy weight pretty regularly.

Best Regards,

David C
