When I first started on this weight loss journey about a year ago I faltered and failed two times. I had pretty much given up. But something drove me to start back up and try again. I set my goal to losing 40 lbs (222-172) because I couldn't ever see myself loosing 40+. I mean why would I since I have failed so many times before to even lost 5 lbs?
I started off slowing with cutting out sodas and walking two times a day at work. The lbs came off slowly but surely and as I started seeing results it made me want to work even harder. I then started to cut back on eating out (especially fast food) and adding exercise videos to my "program." It might be cliched of me to say the following (couldn't be more true though) but the first step is the longest stride. The next thing you know it's a snowball effect and you reach your goal.
I wish I could tell you what snapped with me this time so I can share it with others who are just starting their weight loss journey. But the thing is you have to find it in yourself. You are the one who has to make the decisions, it's you that decides to eat a bunch of junk food, it's you who decides to sit on your butt and do nothing. You might not think you have it in you BUT YOU DO because I thought I didn't have it in me and look how far I have come.
The journey is never easy though. There have been many times when I stopped exercising for days on end. There were days when I just couldn't stop myself from binging on everything in my sight. I never fully gave up though because I knew how much hard work I had put in. Couldn't imagine losing months of hard work to just gain everything back again.
And so now comes the hardest part, maintaining. it's a whole 'nother journey. but it's a new journey I am looking forward to. With my new found self esteem I am ready to take this challenge face on and I will prevail!
P.S. I never read over the stuff I wrote so excuse any bad grammar or spelling.
