Hi

Today i start my journey to a healthier me

I am 29yrs old a mother of a beautiful 2 yr old girl and im worried i wont be able to keep up with her soon!

I lost 2stone 6 pound last year on Slimming world but cant afford the £5 a week so gave it up in Nov and have put on a few pound well more than a few to be honest so its time to start a fresh

Why now?
a) Im ready i have just got my marraige back on track after a huge wobble
b) Im 30 in July thats only 7weeks away
c) Im being bridesmaid for my best friend in Sept
That gives me mini targets to aim for

Im trying to do it by healthy eating and zumba, i have the dvd so will be trying to do that 1ce a week and attend a zumba class as well

Im nurse so sometimes find it difficult to eat in work its normally a grab and go situation but im hoping to change that one step at a time

I will be keeping a track of my weight on this post updating it weekly
23rd May 194lb -13st 12lb - 88.1kg
30th May 190.5lb -13st 8.5lb - 86.5kg
6th June 189lb -13st 7lb - 85.7kg

Hi, and welcome to the forum :)

Congratulations on taking this step to help you lose weight. I'd suggest looking around the forum to get information out of it- the stickies are full of incredibly useful information. The diary section is also a great place to read what other people are doing (ups and downs) and get/ steal ideas, and the before/ after section is really inspirational.

The good news is, you don't have to pay for a plan to help you lose weight. I would guess that at least half of the people here are doing this without using programs. (I'm a calorie counter- I've not paid for any program- and I've lost a bit over a stone in seven weeks without seriously depriving myself of anything or going hungry)

Well last 2 days i have been in work but i have been ok ish well better than what i have been in work i have been very consious of what im eating and told everyone that i am not to eat rubbish and they have agreed to stop me if they see me ha ha so thats work under control just need to get organised enough to take food in with me rather then buying it and all temptation will be gone as i wont take any money with me
 
Yersterday was a good day
I have 3 meals fruit snacks and plenty of water and sugar free juice i feel good

Finding it so hard not to jump on the scales though and see how i am going will wait the 48 hours and hope for a 2lb loss

Today i have my neices birthday party so that is going to be hard lots of tempting nibbles to eat and my sister in law makes the nicest cakes so will be hard to resist one of those but it has to be done if i want to look good for my birthday and for when im bridesmaid in sept

My other problem today one of my best friends are 30 today and she is having a house party :party: thats fine i can take my wine and will stick to that and no more but its the food again she has nibbles out but i must resist she was even talking about getting a late night take out yesterday i know i cant have that either i just hope i stick to it
 
Hi butterfly!!!First of all wish you good luck on your new eating plan!
I also have a 2 year old boy so i know that things can get a bit difficult at home and time for ourselves isnt always easy tofind.But i came to understand that its all in our mind!!!if we want it it happens!!!!
What is your target weight?With patience i belive the pounds will says goodbye for ever!!!
How is the zumba dvd?i have the basics steps and 20 minutes express , but havent taken a go yet!
Dont worry too much about your friends party.Good idea is to have your main meal before attending so you will be full , and wont overeat!
 
Hope your parties go well. I reckon what you should do is keep things moderate- don't exclude yourself completely, but try to eat/ drink less than you normally would, that way you'll minimise the damage without excluding yourself socially.

The partys went really well i stuck to not eating at my neices party and had a good dinner so my mates 30th wasnt too bad i didnt pick at any of the buffett just kept to my wine then went onto coke zero when i finished my allowance and felt good to have control over it if that makes sence.

I think i am aiming for 40lb to start with may be a little more/less will see how i look when i get down there
So hard running round after a little one I want to keep up with her and play in the park not sitting watching because i feel so self concious and scared of getting out of breath
starting weight 88.1kg aiming for a 18kg loss
 
I have Dance Central on my Kinect and I love it!!
I'm turning 30 next week, so that's another thing we have in common. I'm 70lbs bigger, though....lol.

Feeling good again today had a good few days going out for dinner with my friend tonight so going to pre plan what I'm having so I don't go ott when I'm there

I really want to weigh myself just to see but doing my best to resist waiting till Monday
 
Dinner was so nice i did have ice cream as well but the meal was good
No exercise today though had loads of housework to do and now i just was to have a nice bath and relax :)
 
Feel really rubbish today

I have been on night over the weekend so i havent eaten right i can not eat a full meal at 3am so means i dont eat right then im hungry and pick at rubbish so nights finished this morning and starting again today

Dinner is chicken with veg and mash potato

Aiming for a 2-3lb loss this week so i dont go off track with my mini target
 
Hi Butterfly! When is your birthday? I turn 31 on the 17th. I can't believe it. 30 was a hard birthday, but, alas, it is just a number right? (I'll keep telling myself that. haha.) Anyways, don't feel too bad about your last few meals. Its done. So try to think about the next time you are in that situation how you might prevent it from happening. Maybe talk to the other nurses and get some tips? Avoid talking to people who might do similar things. You want a change! :)
