Hello to everyone!!
I got on the scale yesterday, and now weigh 136, down from 178. Forty two pounds lost, 8 to go!! WHOOOOOHOOOOOO!!! I've done this over 9 1/2 months, and think I have finally got this lifestyle change into my head.
I've been overweight my entire life, but when I get this 50 off, I'll weigh what I did when I got married 24 years, and three babies ago.
My circle of friends seems to think that now I've got this far all my health
problems should disappear (my asthma in particular). It hasn't, tried to stop my Serevent, that didn't work. Oh well, maybe I'll have less attacks :))).
Now, I'm shifting my thinking toward a maintenance plan. Something I've never done before. I lost 33 pounds once, promptly had an asthma attack, and not knowing how to maintain the weight loss put it back on over the course of a year or so Courtesy of Prednisone, and lack of knowledge.
I want to thank all of you here!!! You are all awesome!! I've been reading many of your diaries....keep up the good work!! Drink that water, it really does make a difference!!

That's incredible Beckster! Congratulations on all you've lost so far! I can't wait until I get down there too. I'm not sure about maintaining either, but I have a ways to wait until I need to know:D

WOW! Beckster you have done amazing!
An insperation for sure! Good job!
Good luck on figuring out your maintenance plan. That may involve alot of thought, trials and planning. All of which I wish you the best of luck with!
Ahhhhhh the deaded Prednisone .... it can be rather evil!
Hang in there and show us how it's done :D

Great job and whatever you do...don't stop taking your inhalers. Not all asthma comes from being overweight---and your's sounds like real asthma that you will have to monitor forever. Don't risk it!

I have asthma too and I think it is from being overweight but we'll cross that bridge when I hit the 150's.

Thank you Kaitie, Want-a-be, and Brat who me!! I really appreciate your support. We are all in this together, and the goal to lose the weight is so positive!! I'm going to be cheering you all on.

That is awesome!! You are about 2 lbs less that me. just curious, I am about a size 10. what size are you..if you don't mind me asking. it just seems i should be in a smaller size, i guess it depends on your body build...

Lovely-I don't mind you asking what size I am. I am 5 ft 3/4 in tall (I want credit for every spec of ht). I now wear size 6 to a size 10 depending on the clothing manufacturer. My daughter wears the same size, she has never had a weight problem, and loves to tease me and say "you can't have my clothes"!
To all in this forum--Keep Going!!! We can do this!!

LOL Beckster. That's great that you have come so far

Diva Mommy- you are welcome!! I try to visit diaries on a regular basis. I know it is important for all of us!!
I had a bit of a challenge this weekend, as the food I usually eat wasn't around, and had to foray into an area I didn't want to wade into. I tried to be a good girl, and I exercised as much as I could. Hopefully no damage will be noted on the scale at the end of this week!!!
Cannon-glad you liked the post!! Keep up your good work!!

Well, I didn't do a great job over the weekend, but not too much damage on the scale. That thing varies sometimes I think depending on where in the room it is. I keep exercising though, and man does that help with my horrific stress level. I keep saying next year will be different, and things will change. Hope springs eternal I guess, and I know I'm not the only one with problems in their life. I remind myself of my blessings often!!

Exercise is helping me with stress (and depression) too. I find that when I'm in a bad mood or something, it makes me exercise even harder!

Have a great day; you're doing awesome!:)

I hope you're right. I'm really concentrating on exercising and sleeping right this school year. I hope it builds up my stress defense.

You're doing a great job!

Keep the exercise up beckster!! Way to go! Hey, I would place that scale wherever it weighs you with a "nice" number :D LOL - and leave it there :D!!

Thanks for your support Dariqueen, Cannon and Diva Mommy!! I was on meds for depression a few times, however the last time was a couple of years ago, and that med interacted with another med I was on!!! I slept literally for 16-18 hours of the day. So, I can't take anything...just got to keep going!!
Diva, you are right, I should keep the scale where it "weighs best":D .
