Hello. I'm Carrie.
Welcome to my Weight Loss Diary.
I'm excited to get started tomorrow and be on my way to reaching my weight loss goal. I want to be healthy and happy; those are the reasons why I'm doing this. I was 145ish pounds this time last year and various factors in my life have led my weight to rise.. and rise... and rise.
I know I can lose this weight.
I've done it before.

I'm going to be strict with myself, honest in this diary and monitor my weight-loss progress on a weekly basis.

Starting Weight: 196lbs
Current Weight: 183lbs
Short Term Goal: 165lbs (in the HEALTHY BMI range)
Long Term Goal: 135lbs

I'm going to be spending the summer in America. I want to look my best when I'm there.

What is your current height and weight? 5'8, 182lbs

If you were at an ideal weight now, what would that weight be? 135lbs

At what weight would you like to be at four months from now? 155lbs

Why do you want to lose weight? For my health. To increase my body confidence. So I can wear niceee clothes. To look smokin' hot on the beach this summer. And so I can remember to appreciate how wonderful it feels to be slim.

Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? If so, when is that event? I've gained a lot of weight since I broke up with my ex and I haven't seen them since I've gained all this weight. I'm not allowing myself to go and visit my university town until I'm back to the weight I was a year ago. I'll get there.

What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? The fact that I have a serious problem with binge eating

Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? Because I eat too much and find it hard to not eat more, even when I'm full.

What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? Eat less; move more. I already exercise I fair amount. I just need to control myself when it comes to the amount and SORTS of food I consume. Om nom nom.

Have you lost weight in the past? If so, what has worked in the past to help you lose weight? Countless times. When I was depressed after graduating, my weight plummeted to 135lbs and my body looked beautiful. But, no shit, I gained it back.

Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? I lost weight too quickly in the past. I starved my body. It wasn't a lasting solution to maintaining a healthy body weight.

What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? Why do you think it did not work? Fasting does not work. Because I'd not eat for a couple of days only to binge eat a million calories a few days later.

Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? Definitely.

What do you normally eat for a meal? Breakfast is porridge. Lunch is a salad or jacket potato and baked beans. Dinner varies. I'm vegetarian.

What type of snacks do you eat? I love humous and pitta bread. Or rice cakes and peanut butter. I'm very keen on eating 5-a-day so I'm always snacking on fruit and vegetables.

In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? I run 3 days a week out on the streets now that the weather is nicer. I intend to up my work outs to daily light to moderate intensity exercise using work out dvds at home. I will also have a weekly personal training session.

Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? I work out on the streets or at the gym.

What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? My motivation? Gosh. All the super hot women in movies and on tv shows. They inspire me. My desire to wear American Apparel clothes and not look like a heffalump is another motivating factor. Also, the fact that the season of showing skin is nearly upon us, that's definitely motivating me the most.

Do you have rewards for certain goals? Not really. I will reward myself; when I've actually achieved a goal.

Day 1

Food
B - Porridge with raisins, Glass of OJ
S - 2 scoops of protein shake mixed with water
L - Jacket Potato with Baked Beans
S - 1 x apple + 1 x babybel light
D - Stirfry

I also ate 5 teaspoons of custard from the pot (because I'M ADDICTED to that shit), 2 x Crisp Breads @ 48 cals each (eeeek) and 3 x Cream Crackers.

Water Log
At least 2 litres of water

Exercise
ON MY FEET for 5 periods at work
20 minutes walking
30 minutes of Fit To Strip work out DVD (Carmen Electra is a total hottie. I want her body.)

Wish I could feel that way! I'm still at the "self-hate" type stage! Getting there though! I'll feel sexy stuff soon :D And sorry, hon. Wasn't trying to be a dick--Just how I am :) I wont say it again <3

I know I've really only lost water weight at this point butttt who cares; the scale has gone down.

Day 2

Food
B - Porridge, raisins, OJ
S - Protein shake + 2 x crisp breads
L - Jacket Potato + Beans
S - Apple + Babybel// Latte@Costa (small)

Maaaaybe I had a few pic & mix sweets at the cinema when I saw the new Sandra Bullock movie with Alice. I adore Sandra.

But my dinner was v low cal -->

D - Tofu/Spring Onions/Soy Sauce

- Carmen Electra (swooooon) exercise DVD - 30 mins
- C.E 'abs isolation' exercises
much standing at work.

Day 3

I went to the gym. Did weights and ran for 45 minutes, burning off 600 cals :D :D :D

TMI alert:
I got my period :( and felt very sorry for myself.. so I let myself have a square of dark chocolate.

Food

B - Shreddies + Raisins + OJ
S - 2 x crisp bread, protein shake
L - Tofu, Spring Onions, Soy sauce
S - Apple, Muller Light Yogurt, 1 x crispbread, 2 x rice cakes + peanut butter
D - Salad + cottage cheese + croutons
S - Dark chocolate square
 
I'm on Easter Break :D :D :D
I got an Easter egg and managed to consume the ENTIRE SHELL, which FYI has 565 calories in it.
Which meant I spent an hour at the gym, running for all that time, to burn off 800 calories.

It's fine now. Cos that definitely cancelled out the egg. But STILL. Not the point. I need more self control.

That's gotta feel awesome, water weight or not. It really feels like a great accompishment when you see a new ten number and all your hard work is paid off. Just wait til you get to the 160's, you'll start to feel like a million bucks! Keep up the great work :hurray:

Today's Food

B- Porridge, raisins, oj

L - soup & ciabatta
S- cake (eek!!)
D- peanut butter sandwich, apple, go ahead biscuits (150 cals)

Exercise
Half hour walk

Today could have been better.. But it could have been a lot worse.

Tomorrow is personal training day.
I haven't seen my trainer in a month!
 
I've got a sickness bug.
Haven't been able to eat all day.
Easter is when one is allowed to gorge on chocolate and I can't eat anything at all.

My personal training session went really well yesterday. My trainer said my legs look slimmer. I started to massively crush on him. Inappropriate.
 
Easter eggs are dangerous!! I hear ya on the more self control.. its so hard to see something infront of me that looks delish and try not to eat it!

Danger. Danger.
It's so tough to resist delicious looking food.
That's why I occasionally give in to temptation to stop myself binging.
 
Today I've Eaten:

1 crisp bread (48 cals)
1 small diet coke
1 peppermint tea

I hope I feel better tomorrow.

ION, I was working out my BMR, which is 1640.8.
That makes my daily calorie needs, as a moderately active person

So if I restrict by 1000 calories daily, I'll lose 2lbs of body fat a week.
If I restrict by 500, I'll lose 1lb per week.
Interesting.
