I was just sitting here reading through the messages and found it very ironic that on a forum with such darned good advice we have banner ads for weight loss patches and programs and such.

The one I'm looking at now says "How i lost 44 lbs fast! read how i lost 44 pounds in just 3 months with no dieting!"

Just an observation
 
i've complained about it before...

the ads are what make money for the forum to keep the forum free...

In mal's world of fantasy where everyone does what she tells them to - there'd be some editing of ads and there'd be less idiotic ads and more ads that do some good.
 
Forums aren't all that much to keep operational though, so it seems. I guess maybe this one is more expensive than my own due to the sheer size and volume though, huh?

I'd love for someone to pay for mine. But I can't see myself allowing ads like this no matter what.
 
I believe that these forums are hosted on their own servers - in that place that had a fire not all that long ago - I don't think they're hosted on a space like yours.. but I could be mistaken about that..
 
I completely understand about needing to turn traffic into operational money. I just hope the majority of people know to read the stickies and get advice from you guys rather than believe the ads :)
 
Let's see - get hit by lightening - have your mouth be fused shut by said lightening - don't eat - lose 44lbs... and then some...

That's a great plan :D
 
I actually had to click on that ad...

One of the comments was a little disturbing..

WHOA this stuff sounds great! I’m actaully under 18 but I really need to lose some weight. I absolutely hate the way I look right now and I’d like to lose SOME weight before my HUGE party on July 30th. So I hope if I order this, it’ll help me lose something before my party :]

the ad sponsor lost 44lbs over 3 months :)

her starting weight was 185lbs it looks like- her writing style is so atrocious I'm having trouble understanding...

and it wasn't a pill- it was some elixor that you put into a bottle of water and drink all day long... but she got a free gas card for trying it :D
 
This one is interesting actually - you can block out 200 urls from ads and they admit that's not enough for most legitimate web sites....


you can make 500 dollars in your first 2 hours - guarenteed :D brought to you by the same people who say you can lose 22 lbs in 2 days i'm sure
