Oops! i guess I should have more specific when I wrote salad for dinner. What i meant was for breakfast and lunch , I will eat the regular stuff, but I will start by making changes to my dinner. Hence the salad comes into the scene. I plan to start heating healthier food, for all the meals. But I don't want to give sudden surprises to my body. I plan to do it slowly.

u don't need to have a salad for dinner there's no cals in salad if you insist on salad cook up a chicken breast to put on it.. and some veggies on the side...

Try Weight Watcher's, girrrrl, it's ace.
Sometimes I feel like a WW advocate. I'm not even signed up for the program anymore, I just keep using it.

I agree with this. WW is great for learning how to eat healthily without getting hungry or restorting to just eating salad for a meal. I also don't go anymore but daily use the information that I learnt there. Good luck and like Sunny said I'm sure that you aren't ugly.

Hi Jovins,

I am hoping that your bodyfat % is a typo. There is no way you are at 50% body fat. Looking at what you are eating for the day- you are not eating enough food. You will definitely put your body into starvation mode. If you want to lose weight you have to eat a balanced diet. Your BMI is well within normal range. The best way to lose weight is to lose 1-2 pounds a week- this is harder if you are already within a normal weight range. Exercise will help toning and fat loss. Good Luck!!

Hi Cowboy,
Thanks for pointing the typo...err..the Ctrl C Ctrl V error. I have updated it now. About the food, I am actually eating sufficiently. I am not starving myself, and I dont even feel hungry during the day with this food. I have always been a "less-eater". It was the coca cola and pringles that brought me to this stage not eating in excess :) . BTW what are your opinions about my diet from the nutrition angle. Do you have suggestions about any specific types of food that I should add? (I am a vegetarian)

Thanks for your comments. All the best for your goals too

Too tell you the truth- your bodyfat % is still too high. There is no way that someone 5'2" and 117 pounds is 34% bodyfat. It may be a guideline but don't put much faith in it-ok? Your BMI is a much better indicator of whether you are overweight or not. That being said:

Breakfast : 250 gm of Kidney beans fried in 2 teaspoons of oil.
Lunch: 6 vegetable medalions - baked
Snack: 1 Apple.
Dinner: 3 carrots with salsa sauce.
Water : Approx. 3 litres

This is really not much food overall. For instance dinner- 3 carrots and salsa does not give you enough fuel for your body. Being a vegetarian your main struggle may be getting protein- at least the vegetarians I know that is what they struggle with. Peanut butter, tofu, and beans and legumes are all good sources or protein. Looking at what you ate this day- is this pretty typical? If so, include green leafy vegetables- spinach, lettuce etc. You need some carbs- bread, pasta etc. I am not an authority on this just looking at my past experience- I have been heavy my whole life- lost and gained hundreds of pounds over the length of my life. Some things work and some don't. I have been on just about every diet there is. The real trick is diet and exercise-lol. It is old school but it works. Make sure the calories in, is less than the calories out so it creates a deficit. You don't need to make a huge deficit but a deficit none the less. Exercise helps tone everything and burns calories. You are not overweight by any means but if you want to lose a few pounds and tone things up then diet and exercise is the answer. The good news is you don't have too far to go- I started at 330 pounds and am now 199 pounds. Seemed daunting to me to begin with but I took one pound at a time as a victory.
