Back on Track

Good Luck! It is good for these sites. My hubby is anti diet. I bought a fridge full of fruit and veggies, he comes back with Twinkies knowing which Ill eat first. Anyway I'll help you out with any encouragement I can. I am better with exercise than eating so any food advice my way will be helpfull. I only drink diet soda and water now, and jut quit the fast food place I was working where they gave you a free fried lunch everyday. Ive switched to wheat bread and 3 oz of turkey, beef, or chicken. Baby steps will lead me to adding veggies to these, but I think lettuce and tomatoes are yucky. Talk soon I hope Shadow5441

I have been exhausted the past week or so. Wake up from 8-9 hours sleep tired and yawning all day. I'm sure it's the stress catching up with me, but I think I'll work on my diet. Up the fruits and veggies. Maybe find a vitamin I can stomach.

Sounds like a good idea - it scares me when I am tired especially after sleeping a decent amount...take care of you girl!!!

Hey there!! How are ya? Sorry to hear you are exhausted, I fight that often.

Do you have problems taking vitamins? Ever tried the liquid kinds? I find those are easier for me to digest.

Have a great and Healthy Day!!!

I'm not a big lover of vitamins, most ofthem make me a little nauseaus but if you take them with food, it helps a bit.. . if you're using a food journal, you might want to look at B vitamins and Iron - a lack of both can make you tired.

and the forum mother in me says, if you're getting lots of sleep but are still feeling tired, you might want o schedule a doctor's appointment in the near future...

Cerella - Thanks, and hugs.
Miss JB - I'll look at vitamins today. Thanks for checking in.
Mal - Aw, what a good forum mom you are. Yeah, I thought of the doc. I'll see how I get through this weekend first.

I was going to try to get away for exercise at lunch, but that's not going to happen after all. Had bunco last night - too much food. Have going away party after work for two associates tonight. Should not be a problem with food, though I may have a drink.... Will also have sensible lunch today.

Weight up, but not out of control.

Oh boy, life adds up.

I weighed myself this morning. Haven't weighed this much since April 3. My weight is usually pretty consistent, within 2-3 lbs. I don't worry if it goes to the high end, just tweek things when it does. Well, I just pushed past the high end.

Time for some adjustments.

Number 1
We have stairs at work. Most people take them. We have a joke about the building being "underelevatored". I know, it's not a word. But everyone is encouraged to take the stairs. I'm on the 3rd floor. No big deal. But for the past month or so I started taking the elevator. How lazy is that? Well, I've been pretty fatigued lately, and I just sort of let myself do it....

Well starting today I'm back on the stairs. Have been up and down 4 times today. So that's 8 flights up and down. I think I might go count them right now, just to know, and to get 2 more in.

It's such a minor thing, but exercise has been so nil for me lately, that I actually got a little out of breath taking the stairs today. Granted, I do them very quickly.

Number 2
Back to water, here, out and at home. We have a cafeteria here at work. It is open for breakfast and lunch. I don't do breakfast here, but I have lunch here sometimes. The worst thing about the place is the soda fountain. They have cherry coke. I have not been passing it up. So now I will. The place is open until 2pm, so between 1 and 2 I have gotten in the bad habit of sometimes going down for a coke (in the elevator!). When I have fast food (not much, but still too much), I get a coke with it. So I'm cutting all that out. I'm actually pretty good about just having water at home. I have tea at restaurants, but will replace that with water too (reduce my caffeine consumption and spend less!).

Number 3
Have two business lunches the next two days, dinner plans out tomorrow night, business travel out of state Wed-Fri (so all meals out to eat for that period). Will need to make good food choices. Know how to do it, just need to put it in black and white that it is time to get back on track....

The one meal I have in is tonight, so I'm taking the girls to the grocery store when I get off work - starting in the fruits and veggies - and just buying enough for tonight and the morning, since I'm not eating at the house again until Sat. am.

Had coffee this am, a banana midmorning, and Vietnamese food for lunch (which was actually pretty light) with water to drink. Hey, it's a start.

Hey Patty, its odd that I've never found your diary before. Great job at keeping this diary going so long. You're almost at the one year mark.

Hi Patty. Hope all is going well.

I think your ideas with the elevators and water will pay off very quickly. There really are many easy ideas we can incorporate but over look. Hope you also enjoy your travel this week.

Hi Cannon, yes I've seen you around though... :)

I actually joined two years ago, stopped posting for a long time, then started a new diary last year. Have been losing for about 2 years now, about 30 lbs. Thanks for coming by.

Lisa, how are you? I'll stop by your diary later. Thanks for stopping by to check in on me. I appreciate that.

The trip was very productive, but tiring. I got in at 2:45am Friday. A very long week.

This weekend I spent most of Saturday and Sunday shopping for and packing for my girls to go to Girl Scout camp this week. They were out of town this past week with Grandma 2, so they weren't around to help (or hinder?).

I just did 10 (girly) pushups and 20 situps. Not much, but it has been MONTHS since I've done it. So I'm proud of myself. Plus I do the crunches that you feel after just a few if you do them right.

Walked quite a bit when dropping the girls off at their camp today.

Joined 24 Hour Fitness yesterday. My company has a good corporate account with them; so it's inexpensive and no contract. They have a kids area. It's very near my place.

Have been up and down the stairs at work 4 times today. So that's 8 flights up and down. Not much, but I don't huff as much any more. ha

Water today. A little coffee with splenda and one cream.

Had the best salad at lunch. Lots of veggies. Tuna and egg for protein. It had fat with the egg, mayo in the tuna and dresssing, but I'm less concerned about that and more about getting some veggies in my body.

So, I got this massage on Saturday at Massage Envy, and the guy messed up my back. He said something about my back being out of whack while he was giving me the massage, but didn't admit he did it. I have been in pain ever since. He actually said I should go to a chiropractor. Well I need one after him. Geez. It's my second time there, and I had terrible experiences both times. Never again there.

Hey Patty that is shitty abt your back - yes never never never agian - funny thing is I am a one shot kinda gal...if I get rubbed the wrong way - no pun inteneded and oh excuse htat pun - ha ha ha _ i never go back anywhere - I am such a first impression gal with no second chances - LOL!!!

That's too funny Cerella. No second chances, huh? Not patient enough to direct? lol

Thanks Mal.

I do feel somewhat better today. I took a bunch of ibuprofen (had to look up that spelling!) yesterday and again this morning. I've been stretching my back on one of those big balls, on the flooor, in my chair at work, using the wall. Sat, Sun, Mon hurting. Who knows what he did to me?

Oh Patty, I'm sorry about your back. I had a friend give me a massage like that. She thought she knew what she was doing, but it took 4 days to recover. I do swear by chiropractors, but I have taken a class in massage therapy and most of the harm a bad massage does will go away in a few days because its usually more muscle related than anything.

Thanks, Cannon. I've been spoiled by my sister because she is a massage therapist. She used to practice on me during her training about 10+ years ago. She lives in another city, so I only get one from her about once a year. I don't mind the soreness that's in a good way. You feel it when they get all the kinks out. But this was pain, not soreness. Oh well, moving on....
