It's a New Year

It's a New Year. What are we going to do about that?

Time for resolutions. I made some progress last year, but still have much more I want to accomplish.

What are your resolutions? Has everyone posted them in their diaries?????

I just got out of the shower. Had a good cry in there. It just feels good to cry in a nice, hot shower. The tears and water all run together and wash away. You don't care about runny nose or makeup. You just get it all out. Kids don't catch you at it that way either. Have been a little lonely, but will compose a mammoth email about my current life later - not that anyone should be subjected to reading it but that I need to get it all out. Mostly I just miss my girls. I'd see them less anyway because I work now, but have to split time with them now due to my separation from my husb. It's hard.

So, on to my resolutions.

Health, Weight and Fitness
- eat more fruits and veggies
- lose the last few pounds
- take vitamins
- drink more water
- start strength training again
- start running again

Business and Finances
- exceed the expectations set for me at work (which means putting in the extra effort every day, I know I will see a difference after a couple of months)
- set and tightly manage my budget
- same for ex-husband's company budget and sales (I still have money tied up in it)

Family and Friends
- make the most of every moment with my children (my time with them is now limited and precious)
- be a loving, patient mom who teaches her children
- contact friends and family on a regular basis and listen to them talk

I know some of it sounds too general, but I do have more specifics in mind and it is something I can honestly look over later and answer 'yes' or 'no' to whether I'm doing it.

I think I'll check these over at the end of the month to see how I'm progressing.

Love, Peace, and Hope to all!!!

Welcome back Patty; it's good to 'see' you again! I'm sorry about what you're going through; I'm still going through it myself. It's rough with kids. :(

Good plans for your resolutions...I only came up with two major ones. :)

Hiya M. It has been a long time, hasn't it?

Hey DQ, did you post your resolutions? Guess I'll check out your diary and see.

Went to work this am for an hour and turned around and came home. Have felt queasy the last two nights. Felt nauseous at work, had a bad headache and lower back pain (i'm having an especially fun visit from our T.O.M. friend). Decided, why push through it? Brought the lap top home and am doing a little work while catching up here at WLF. Will take a nap shortly.

The sad thing is, when you feel sick and think you might be getting a stomach bug, you think "Ah, maybe I'll lose a couple of pounds."

Hit a new low weight on Tuesday morning. No explanation for it. Back up 2 lbs now, but that's normal. I hit a new low, hover within 2-3 lbs of it, then in 4-6 weeks hit another new low. So I post the low on my ticker, then don't show it again until I break it. On my weight loss table I post the lowest weight each week. Slow and steady wins the race. I've said it before I know.

Oh, it's so true - slow and steady.
Sometimes it's a PITA but yeah, slow and steady lol!

Hope you're feeling better soon Patty!

So, I'm on the third floor at work. And I take the stairs. Our building is "under-elevatored". But that is another story. So when I started, I was walking and jogging every day. But I noticed when I walked the two flights, I was huffing a little at the top of the third floor (as were my colleagues). Going up is a lot harder than going forward.

Hey you, Im glad to see you posting agian...I couldnt imagine what you are going through with missing your kids, Ive always been very lucky in that aspect, I dont need to share them...your getting through this...*HUGS*

Well M2M, it's pretty flat here in Houston, so I don't get to try hills much. Walked up to the sixth floor today, geez I'm not in the shape I thought I was in.

Hiya T2.

Cinderelly thanks for the post and the HUG. Always appreciate a hug.

A new broom for 2007

This is a Groaner

I haven't posted a joke in a while. Got this in email today....

Two brooms were hanging in the
closet and after a while they
got to know each other so well,
they decided to get married.

One broom was, of course, the bride
broom, the other the groom broom.

The bride broom looked very beautiful
in her white dress. The groom broom
was handsome and suave in his tuxedo.

The wedding was lovely.

After the wedding, at the wedding
dinner, the bride-broom leaned
over and said to the groom-broom,
"I think I am going to have
a little whisk broom!!!"

"IMPOSSIBLE !!"

said the groom broom.

Are you ready for this?

Brace yourself.

This is really going to hurt!

"WE HAVEN'T EVEN SWEPT TOGETHER!"

Sounds to me like
she's been
"sweeping" around!

Oh for goodness sake... laugh,
or at least groan.
Life's too short not to enjoy.....
even these silly little cute.....
and clean jokes.

Dear Diary,

Well, I hardly ever visit you any more, but I still need you. Yes, I've lost most of my weight, but I've also lost fitness and muscle of late, so still have BF to lose.

Also still need to get cholesterol checked to make sure it's come down, and really examine the kind of food I'm eating (coffee has become one of my food groups....).

Well, that's all I have for now. The kids are in the bath, so I'm off to wash their hair, the darlings.

-P

I feel like such a peeking tom look in at such a nice diary entry ;)

Patty, it sounds like you know what to do :) Have you been running lately?

'Fraid not Debi. Once in the past two months - since I started work it just went out the window. Plus the change in the home sit. I'm just watching what I eat so I don't gain the weight back, but I miss the physical exercise.

Did I just say that? Who'd a thunk it a couple of years ago????

It's amazing how far we come from our old selves isn't it? :D

Nutrition is where the majority of weight maintenance lies - but can you find time to get any strength training in?

Off to Vegas for a week - convention for work.

Hey Patty! Just stopping by to say hello. Great joke as always :)

Have a great time in Vegas! (I've never been...not yet anyway)

Hi diary,

Well Vegas was fun. I worked hard all day, played at night. Drank too many calories, but had much fun. Did not get into any trouble! Won a little money. Was there 7 days. That's a long time, especially away from my little ones.

In heels from 7am-2am each day for a week took it's toll on my feet and back. Went for a massage, an hour. Lady said I need another half hour.... Want a pedi too.

Weight up a little, but still in range. Had fajitas and margaritas tonight. That's not good....

Cafeteria at work. Ate salads the first week. Not so good since then. Lots of not so good choices there, like pizza, calzones, pasta day, quesadilla day, etc.

Husb is all over the map. He is a wreck. It makes life very difficult. Trudging on.

Work is great. I love it. My little angels are as sweet as ever. I have them, my health and a great job. Guess when weighing it all out, I'm doing ok.

Randy, thanks for your support as always.

12pk, it's been a while. I hope you are doing well.

Hi to all.

Patty

Yikes - a week is more then I could imagine being gone! And I would LOVE to get a message :D Very cool!

Hope things settle with the husb...that can't make life easier...

Glad to hear you're doing well!
