So Im new here, and this will be my first Diary entry.

My goals, are obviously weightloss. Right now my BMI states I am obese :)eek: ) so first goal is to get within the normal range, for me that is 140. Obviously at 5'3 I would like to go below that.

A bit about me: I am 22, baby fat was always my excuse but at 22 thats hardly true haha. I am about to graduate college and definitly gained the freshman 15 plus a couple more. However, until recently I thought I carried my wieght well... ie. here I am my freshan year, where I weight about 170




and here I am now about 4 years later... just pointing out some of the things that bother me...





Anyways, my goals are not just for weight loss. I want to be healthier in general. As of late I have been having problems with my asthma, my skin (eczema), and allergies plus my weight makes me feel sluggish and lethargic. I need energy! so Im starting by excersizing more and cutting back on foods I know are not good for me. Later I will try maybe something stricter regarding food... for now I am cutting back soda (as in no soda), fast food (except perhaps In and Out monthly because its heavenly), snacks that provide no nutrients (candy and chips), as well as coffee. Now Im not sure if coffee will contribute to weight loss but it will make me feel better as I wont be crashing so often.

Food is my vice, so for now I am focusing on excersize more so. 5 days a week, 3 intense cardio, and 2 days something more mellow, riding my beach cruiser around for an hour or going for a walk (I live in san diego and its getting warm enough to do these). As well as some weight training 3 days a week. Now Im good with the cardio but does anyone have suggestions for weight training? Im pretty clueless there. My arms need the most help... Im not a small girl but my arms are unporportionally HUGE... so they need help.

I suppose thats all for now... Comments appreciated :D
 
Adventure #1... Breakfast at the "Sunshine Store"

Usually I go in for Coffee + Pastry so I thought not doing that would be hard but it wasnt too bad. I got a big bottle of water, yogurt, an apple and I was looking for a granola bar but all they had were Power Bars...

I had the Yogurt and Bar for breakfast, now Im off to class... figured Ill have the apple as a snack between classes. Im dont at 12:30 so the plan is to get my senior portraits done (ah) and then head home and go to the grocery store...

On another note... so I gradutate this spring and that means that come a couple of weeks from now I will have no access to the school gym. This had been plaguing my mind and last night I get a text from my roommate/bestfriend/tiniest woman I know haha and she wants to join the 24 hour fitness that is 4 blocks from out house and is wondering if I want to join because its cheaper when you sign up with a friend! so Im getting myself a new gym membership tonight and a new workout buddy... yey
 
^ Congrats on the gym membership and exercise buddy!!! Wish I had that :'( I really do lol. My boyfriend keeps asking me to go the gym with him, but I sweat enough in front of myself. In front of him too? NO! Haha :p

We look around the same size I think! I'm a 14 UK.

I've heard you can't spot tone or whatever it is.. so if you lose weight overall, all of you is gonna get smaller. I'm not sure what you could do for your arms though, but if you find out, let me know! :D

How many calories do you plan to have a day? Mine is 1600. Seems high doesnt it? EK. I've been having 1200 or less the whole time I've been on a diet, and now I'm hearing thats not good! LOL. So, just so you don't end up like me, you shouldnt go lower than 1200! :D
