Away we go

Well.... last night was run run run! Did a different program on the elliptical last night..... kicked my butt! Felt great to be done, and felt great when I was done for doing it. I have noticed that it takes more resistance now for me to hit my target heart beat!!!!! must be doing something right. But man I was sweating like a pig!

Then got home made supper for the fam.... Grilled chicken and broccoli, glad everyone likes that, makes it easy on Dad to make only 1 meal for everyone. Then ran off to the band concerts. My oldest was accepted into honor band, so they had him stand... Proud of him!

When I got home... small snack of 2 triscits and pepper jack cheese. then some guitar Hero Jamming with the fam!!!! fun family activities!

Running night again tonight..... I need to buy more t-shirts...going through them pretty fast!

Quiet night last night, both boys had activities to go to, so it was just me and the Mrs... so we did some housecleaning.... man can you tell I've been marrried for 23 year...lol

Had another good day at the gym yesterday on the elliptical. Did my 45 min of cross training. I did have to laugh at one girl.... she came in, started on the elliptical...2 min.... then got off and browsed the magazines....then got back on for a few more minutes....got off and got a drink of water....2 more on...off to go to the bathroom..... this went on for a half an hour then she was done. I guess we all may go through that at times, but when I am there covered in sweat working my butt off to hit my goals....oh well that's just me.

Tonight is weigh in!!!! I am looking forward to it. Don't know if I have lost anything, but I sure am feeling better. My clothes fit better, I have a lot...A LOT more energy... just basically feeling better. Also, it's weight lifting night! I love the feeling when I am done with that....don't get me wrong... I enjoy it, just feel so pumped when I am done...

Don't know why...but was extremely tired last night lifting.... guess it's just the end of the week blah's. did my weigh in....down 2 lbs for the week :sifone:

I got a good night sleep last night... or should I say I went to bed at a decent time. Seems like all week, something happens around bedtime to keep me up for another hour.

Going over to a friends house tonight for supper and cards. This may be a tough night, she is a great cook.

Busy weekend coming up, cleaning my garage. Making room for the snowmobiles... Going out and picking pumpkins with the fam, then Football on Sunday.... hopefully without the nacho's. Sunday is my day of rest, but Sat I hope to get to the gym early. Need to take my son to school early for a band trip, then will sneak off and get some elliptical work in.

Whew....seemed like a long weekend... but this morning the alarm went off way too soon!

Got the garage all cleaned up and ready for the sleds to come next weekend, did a lot of yard work and even managed to get to the gym on Sunday. I need to, being I skipped out Friday and Saturday. I ate way too much bad stuff this weekend... not alot of it, I guess, but enough to make me feel really guilty. Weekends are sooooo hard to keep on track. I can do great all week, but when it comes to the weekends.... I falter.

Here is to a new week, and keeping up with diet and exercise!!!

Felt like crap yesterday so I took the day off from going to the gym.... Felt really guilty about that, but did get a lot of extra sleep last night. Hope to get their tonight.
My favorite time of the day is in the mornings... don't know why, but feel so much better about how I look in the mornings.
Went to work on some computers at a company I help out.... they noticed that I have been losing weight.... love it!!!!!

What a difference a day makes! Felt great yesterday! Had a good day at work, at home and at the gym. My biggest problem that I face right now is eating more.... I am finding that I am comfortable with the food I am eating, yet my calorie intake is a little low. The problem is that when I get home from the Gym.....it's about 6 in the evening, so I don't feel like eating too much... then I don't want to eat before going to bed.

I am so anxious for the weekend.... I am going to pick up my new snowmobile!!!! I know... there is a lot of time before snow will hit the ground, but I am ready. On that same note... now that I am losing weight, I am finding that I am not the furnace I used to be. Seems that I get colder faster, I do remember that from the last time I lost weight to. Anyways....getting ready to get my sleds up to my house for a fantastic winter!!!!!!

Wow.... been over a week since I have put anything into here! Busy busy weeks and weekends.
Last night was a great night at the gym. I have been working to hit my optimum heartbeat on the elliptical trainers.... but last night I got stuck with one that didn't have the heartbeat sensor working....so I did the "around the world" workout.... pretty much hills! Well, a friend of mine was at the one next to me and so we started to talk and talk while "climbing hills". After about 20 min I looked down to see that I was pumping away at 6.5 mph... I thought well... If thats the speed I am working at...lets keep it going. Long story somewhat shorter, I finished up at that speed for 45 minutes! I ended up a big puddle of sweat, but it felt great!

Over the weekend I went down and got my sleds from storage!!!! While there I saw some old classmates, went out to eat. I did good eating, if fact I am down my 2 lb's for the week!!!!!!!! Now this weekend out of town again for a conference. More Hotel nights and restaurant food :(.... But I find that if I order off the diabetic menu.... I eat a better meal and portions!

back again....

To be honest I had to look back at where I started in October...230 lbs. Now down to 210 lbs. Only 20 lbs... but feeling great about it. Goal is set to 180 lbs so almost halfway there. At 217 I hit my plateau.... stayed there for a few weeks. I keep lifting and using the elliptical machine at the gym. I had to buy new shoes though. My toes were going numb after about mile 4, so I went to the Dr. and he told me to try new shoes and inserts.... it worked!!!

My lifting is going great! It's nice to see the definition in my upper body again! Arms, Shoulders, back and even tummy! I still have to watch out for my shoulder though, still gives me a little bit of trouble on some days. The Dr. told me that was normal and that I was doing great with it.

I feel I did great over the holidays... I didn't get to the gym as much as I would have liked, but with all the snow shoveling I have done, it feels like I never missed a session!

Back at it hard!

Wow, the end of Feb all ready!
Most of the winter I have to admit I slacked off and spent most of the time out on my snowmobile. Most trips ended up with a few meals in a bar with greasy deep fried foods.... BUT! The good news.... I am still at 210! I didn't hit the gym that much.... changed my hours at work and had to get into a new routine.... Hard for me to change!

I started up at the gym again, but it's like starting all over. I used to whip off 45 min on the elliptical, but now, after 35 min, my legs are beat! And as for weight lifting....lol I am starting from scratch with that too. As far as my shoulder goes.... it feels like it's at %100!

Time for me to kick it into high gear and finish off that last 30 lbs before summer hits.

One fun bit of news.... My son found my wedding ring that I lost 14 years ago.... and it still fits, so I guess I am on the right track!

Guess hitting it hard was quite literal... I was at the Gym On Tuesday and as I was lifting I heard a POP!!!! Quit lifting and felt my back tighten up. Couldn't sleep that night, couldn't find a comfortable spot.

I took it easy on Wednesday and last night finally went back and tried the elliptical machine, at least that was great! I pushed myself through mile 2 and all of the sudden... I had energy! I did 4 miles in 42 min. at level 10 and felt great! But my neck and back still are very tight.

Last night went out with my friends for our weekly get together. On the table were 2 large pizza's and a huge order of Nacho's... I was good and didn't partake. I knew even if I had a small sample... it would lead to more and more. The guys were giving me crap, but the girls were telling me they envied my will power!

Went to the Gym this morning... trying to change up my schedule. I was down 2 lbs for the week. yay! Now for the weekend.... the hardest time of the week. At work I don't have the entire contents of my fridge and pantry calling my name, but at home.... if I get bored... I nibble and snack!

Ahhhhh... the weekend was great! I didn't do great, but the weekend was fun! Had the bon fire of Saturday, had my fill of cheese and crackers, then an adult beverage or two :)

My wife wanted to join me at the gym yesterday, so we went in had had our time on the elliptical machines. She is used to using our treadmill, so this was totally new to her. We did our 45 minutes. I went my 4 miles, she did 3 so it was a good workout. She normally works out in the mornings, but hates to get up with me laying in bed, so today I went out and bought "The Biggest Loser" for our x-box... I got it home and just did the evaluation for 30 min... it kicked my butt!!!! I thought I was in pretty decent shape after being able to do my 45 min on the elliptical with no problems.... but this thing took me to the limits! I know it was just seeing what level to start on, but wow! I am looking forward to tomorrow morning to see what kind of workout it will give me!

I really don't like getting up early!!! But, if that's what my wife needs me to do for her to exercise, then that's what I'll do! I did the Biggest loser on the Kinect again this morning for 30 minutes. It's a great workout. It's nice that they mix up what you are doing at a pretty quick pace. Really gets the heart rate going, then they have you stretch at the end of the workout.

I am going to go to the Gym after work to get my elliptical in also, so maybe this morning thing will work out great after all!

As far as my meals go... Still the typical Breakfast smoothie, but now add a scoop of protein powder.
Snacks of Oranges and apples throughout the day.
Lunch.... lean meat with an apple or orange
Supper.... canned chicken with cottage cheese... and Italian herbs... sounds nasty, but really very tasty!
and WATER WATER WATER!

Got my elliptical training in last night. Did my 45 min routine, and felt great after. I am thinking I should bump up the resistance a little more.... but will see. This morning I did the bigest loser workout on the Kinect for 30 min. I can really feel the results of that right now. I guess thats a good thing!
I am hoping that by next week I can start to lift again. My neck and back are feeling a lot better, but are still a little tight!

Same breakfast as usual! ( but thats a good thing)

Thanks Holly!!! Just have to keep plugging away at it!

At work today I walked into one of the areas and they have bags of MINI DOUGHNUTS!!!!!! So..... I walked back to my office and grabbed a few almonds to quench my temptation. WHY MUST MINI DOUGHNUTS TASTE SO GOOD?

Hey, well done for avoiding the temptation. I was tempted by chocolate today but resisted. We just got to keep that up, right?

Thanks Holly.... I thought after Christmas season was over, the office snacks would stop... now today they had peanut butter filled pretzels. I wanted to try one, just cuz it sounded so good, but then knew I would end up with a handful!

Last night I finally lifted again! My neck was feeling better, so I thought I would give it a try. I cut back on the weights a little, so I would strain anything and everything felt fine afterward! I did my elliptical for 2 miles before lifting.... I really don't know why I do that, but it gets my heart beating and well....uh.... I don't know.
This morning I did my biggest loser workout on the x-box... it is a very cool way to exercise. It can tell if you are doing a move wrong and will help you in correcting it, so it makes sure you have the correct form. So far it has switched up the routine, so it's not boring.
I did my weigh in this morning... my Friday ritual....(before exercising) down 2 lbs... this puts me under the "obese" category...WAHOOOOOOOOO!
I hate those charts and labels!

I haven't been logging my journal much lately....
Weekends are still tough... but did ok. I had a busy Saturday... drove 4 hours away, then sat in a 5 hour meeting, then drove 4 hours back.... I usually nibble on something while I drive, so this was a challenge, but I didn't this time!!!
Sunday I was feeling like a slug, so I went in and lifted again. Felt great when I was done!

Monday morning I did my biggest loser workout on the Kinect, then after work I did my elliptical trainer. I did 50 min, 5.25 miles on level 10. Legs felt pretty good, so may try to push up to an hour....who knows?

I havn't logged my food for a while, that because it's usually the same thing day in, day out...

Breakfast... Smoothie with protein powder added
mid morning snack... Orange or apple with string cheese
Lunch.... grilled chicken breast with an apple and an orange
mid afternoon snack.... orange or apple with string cheese
Supper..... Chicken taco salad
evening snack.... apple or orange with string cheese

and WATER WATER WATER throughout the day.

Great job on the workouts!! You're really killing it! isn't it funny how great you can feel after a work out? I find it so strange that I can be sooooo tired before a work out, drag myself there, workout - expend a bunch of energy....and then feel energized!! hehehe so strange!!

Good on you for getting yourself to the gym even though you were pooped! That's a hard thing to do! :)

Thanks Tik!

I think it is a great way just to get away from everything else.... work... kids.... stress!!! Just go to the gym, crank the tunes and just lose yourself in your workout!
