So - Here is the start of my diary, detailing the journey of weight loss I'll be taking.

My goal is to loose 50-60lbs by my wedding day, May 23, 2009.

My plan is to exercise at least 3 days a week, hoping for at least every other day. I have a membership with Curves, and I will be going back to actually use it. I will also be shrinking down my meal portions, as well as decreasing my soda/caffeine intake and increasing my water intake.


On a personal note... I need to do this. Not just so I can feel better about myself at my wedding.... but so I can be healthier. Diabetes and heart diseases run prominently in my family and my doctor is concerned about a few of the early symptoms I've shown.

I'm looking forward to taking care of myself so i can have a healthy future!
 
Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding! I have the same schedule for my weightloss (I have 48 lbs to lose by Mid May-)
I have a few questions-- How tall are you?.. What do you weigh now and what is your goal weight? There is a lot of supportive people on this site
so please do not be shy!
 
Well - I'm about 5'7", I weigh roughly 300lb. I have a goal weight of at least 260.

I'm the heaviest I've been and hitting that 300 mark has been such a changing point in my life. Seeing that number was like watching how I would die, you know?

It's nice to know that there are supportive people out there. I really have no one living around me to keep me going on a plan (I love my fiance, but he's so not helpful :D) so I'm starting slowly. Cutting back on soda, less pasta, smaller portions and I'm easing my way into exercise again.

I think we have some other folks from your neck of the woods on the forum.
You might see if you can kick up an exercise buddy. Exercise is the key.
I do water aerobics and it is very effective- and very easy on the joints.
