audrey's weightloss diary!

This is my very first post here! Just hope to reach my goal, of losing 10 kg. Just a little about my weight history:

I was always around 49-50 kg, and I was still relatively slim when I entered college in 2004. Then the weight slowly begin to pile on the next year, and by June 2005 I was at my heaviest of 57.5 kg. I was pretty shocked to see my 'fat' pictures, so I went on a diet and dropped to 53.5 kg in just a month. Alas, I did not keep up with my plans and have gone back up to 56 now.

My goals come in steps, so that I'll keep myself motivated. They are:

1. 53 kg
2. 50 kg
3. 48 kg
4. 46 kg

I know I'll never be able to go on a low-calorie diet, so what I'm trying to do is to make healthier choices for my meals, eat less at every meal and try not to snack. Wait a moment. I'll NOT snack :D

I've even thought of what I'm going to wear to reward myself:

1. 53 kg - striped mini skirt
2. 50 kg - hot pink racerback
3. 48 kg - pretty lace tank top from Abercrombie!
4. 46 kg - a new pair of Levi's jeans!

Of course, I think some deadlines for my goals would help too.

1. 53 kg - 12th October
2. 50 kg - 2nd November
3. 48 kg - 16th November
4. 46 kg - 30th November

That's a 1kg weightloss every week. Which is what is recommended by most sites and books. So should be ok. Good luck to me! ;)

Ah the joys of the metric system... as an American I have to say it takes me a few seconds to convert. Where are you from audrey?

hi! :)

I'm 1.63 m, that's about 5' 3" I think..I'm Asian so getting down to 46 kg (101.2lbs) isn't such a big deal :)

By the way I'm from Singapore! Nice and sunny weather all year round :)

Argh. Just weighed myself and can't believe it. I'm back to 57.5 kg, which was my heaviest ever in June last year. I'm pretty sure it's just a fluctuation, cos I was 56 this morning. I don't seem to be making much progress. Strength training tomorrow?

strength training is great because it helps keep your metabolism moving... and it's natural for your weight to fluctuate during the course of the day, you've eaten and you've drank stuff.. your weight will go up.

For an accurate assessment on how you're doing - weigh yourself at the same time every day or every other day.. wearing the same thing- or nothing... :D you'll see changes then

01 October 2006

Alright, I've decided to post in lbs because it's easier for records on the 1 month October challenge I've joined!

Starting weight (1 October): 124.5
Goal weight (31 October): 114.5
Goal loss: 10

I'll update on whether I've reached my goal here, so when i check back i'll have a clearer record :)

Hopefully this challenge will really help me reach my goals for once! I don't want to be stuck at this weight forever :(

oh yes, and the october challenge thread is here: http://weight-loss.fitness.com/club/october-1-month-challenge-5831.html

I am rather proud of myself! Yesterday i had 3 digestives (with chocolate chips, no less, but nothing too heavy) and some cocoa for breakfast; soup and noodles for lunch (which I couldn't finish) and for dinner a subway 6 inch and a chocolate chip cookie! Followed by a piece of honeydew for supper. I'm proud of myself because I usually have to snack alot, and I didn't do so at all yesterday! Though for weightloss I know I'll have to do alot more...

still it's a start! Had some almond chocolate crackers for breakfast just now..can't resist chocolate, must have it. So what do I do? Just eat less of course :) Who says I can't have my chocolate and eat it??

Anyway, I thought of a great plan: set goals to wear clothes that I can't fit into right now! I'm vain so it's a great motivation :p

Level One: The size 29 jeans stuck in my cupboard (around 116)
Level Two: My big button denim mini (around 112)
Level Three: My dark denim jeans to be rolled up and worn as capris (around 107.5)
Level Four: The light blue denim mini i have (around 102)

Tops are okay for me because I'm pear shaped; i have more trouble fitting into bottoms than tops. So bottoms are a great way to see whether I've lost weight or not!

today's meals: almond chocolate sticks for breakfast (about 300 cals); minced meat noodles (oily!!!) about 500 cals and iced milk tea (200 cals) for an early lunch; two pieces of melon (80 cals) and a can of cocoa (200 cals) for a snack, and just had dinner of chicken cutlet with rice (about 400 cals). So 1680 calories today. And it's only 6.30 pm here! I hope i don't get hungry later and eat something else :(

Yay! it's 10.21 pm and i haven't eaten anything more since dinner..that's a good thing! for the october challenge i'm in the group Monster Mash the Pounds! So cute! haha. Really hope to reach my 10lb goal! :) and there's a fellow Singaporean in there too: pinkydolly!!

noooo...spoke too fast! too hungry so had two mini packets of this noodle snack thingie. not much harm done though, 150 cals total tops :) still, a stern warning from me to me: STOP SNACKING, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT!!

Haven't eaten anything yet this morning. I know it isn't good to skip breakfast, but i would like a brunch because i usually eat breakfast and then lunch, and still feel hungry early afternoon. Brunch would ensure i get just one meal before the cravings set in. Also, by eating less i feel like i'm really on a diet so i won't fall off the wagon! :D

Yoz how's my comrade doing here??? lol

Have a fantastic Wednesday! It's already midweek!!!

Lucky u able to get into denim minis.... i'll let u know when my thunderthighs disappear hahah.:D

Brunch: what Singaporeans call economical rice: rice with vegetables, fish and a hardboiled egg. Honeydew sago for dessert and a can of cocoa.

Snack: a small bit of mooncake

Dinner: fries and a chicken foldover from McDonalds; hot chocolate. Shared the fries with a friend so I'm a little less guilty :D

Dessert: can of cocoa
