Centennial park is kinda cool -
There's a city tour you can do - on a segway which is kind of cool - and now that it's closer to halloween there used to be aghost tour too...
timing is everything -i was supposed to be a town or two away from atlanta next week - only the order for the servers didn't get placed at the right time so my trip's been postponed....

it's not in atlanta so a car is needed but its not far from atlanta... and worth the trip

Steve, I know I haven't been around too much on the boards but I live in Atlanta and would love to show you around (not that I've really seen a lot of it myself). And I'm good for recommendations and directions.
Mal: When you get "a town or two over from Atlanta", if my car has absolutely stopped sucking, we should meet up. Btw, I didn't come to Chitown and forget about ya, I just havent made it there yet.

The High Museum is pretty cool.
And Atlanta Underground is a must-do tourist destination. I think it's a bit silly, but people seem to be into it.
And, although it's not "healthy," you could visit the Coke Museum. It's actually pretty interesting. You learn about the history of Coke, who created it and why, etc. I sat through some weird/creepy "Coca-Cola makes the world a better place" video in a viewing room.
Virginia Highlands is good for eating and shopping. It's heavy on boutiques and stuff like that.
The Braves Museum is pretty cool too, if you're into baseball.
But if you have some serious time to kill and want to do something really fun and campy, go to Stone Mountain!!!
I've never lived in Atlanta, but my brother lived there for six years, and I used to visit him a lot during that time.
Oh yeah. Uh, the largest porn store/sex shop on the East coast used to be in Atlanta. Damn, I can't remember the name of it, but it's three or four stories tall. Now tha'ts something to see.

I was just invited on a fishing trip while I'm down there so I might take up that offer.
I was also invited to dinner with my uncle, who lives right outside the city.... so I def. won't be totally bored.
My uncle used to be the head anchor for the fox news network in atlanta.... so I'm sure he knows the city pretty well, and he's a fun guy.

I can't remember the name of it, nor the address. So sad. I just remember it was huge. Wall-to-wall toys, videos, accessories, apparel, etc.
There's also the Clermont Lounge, which is a world-famous, super sleezy strip joint. Anything goes. Their most famous dancer is a woman named Blondie. She's a light-skinned black woman who will crush your freshly drained beer can with her enormous boobs! And then she'll give the can back to you as a souvenir. Pretty awesome. I saw Blondie nearly knock a man unconscious when she "dropped" her boobs on his head.
Please don't ask my why I've been to this place.
