Assisted chin up machine

Alright I like usin this machine but there is one problem. everytime I get off it , I feel this sharp painful sting in my feet. I put my knees on the assistance pad. Is not enough blood circulating to my legs? or my form is just bad?

Do you have this problem is you simply kneel on the ground? Seems like a good place to start so you can tell if the problem lies with the machine or your body.

Sounds similar to complients of people who suffer from sciatica, after they sit or stay too long in a fixed position.

try to see if you aren't really tensing up your legs a lot. I use an assisted pullup machien right now myself, and don't experience what you're feeling, so its not normal.

you might just be tensing up too much and cutting off the blood flow a little.

I've used the assisted pull up machine at the gym and haven't experienced a problem. Sounds like crazycanuck is on to something, probably sciatica from leaning back on the machine while your doing your reps, placing pressure on your lower back. Maybe moving you're knees a little forward might help.

If I may, you're better off doing pull-up negatives. Use a platform grasp onto a bar, and jump up. Then slowly lower yourself, maybe a five second count. The eccentric damage will speed your growth. As this gets easier, add weight. If you can't control the eccentric, you're using too much weight. Eventually, you'll be able to do the concentric, as well as the eccentric.

my problem is the excess bodyfat. I can rep my lean mass no problem, but 190lbs right now means not enough reps to really improve.

of course my goal is to get off the machine and onto a plain bar, as soon as humanly possible.

I put a lot of pressure on my upper body. I think that's probably why. I also force a lot of pressure on my arms as well. Hmmm guess I'd have to go /w a smoother approach in this exercise.

I was doing some leg raises today.

jeez the same thing happened again...

pain wasn't as bad cuz I only did like 3 of them ahaha never really did them before. When I was on the pull up bar, couldn't really keep my body straight....kinda kept on swayin. I really need to work on balance.....

any tips?

When I use an assisted chin up machine, there is a bar that i stand on instead of a platform to rest your legs on. So your standing and not kneeling. Maybe you could try one of those instead of the ones you rest your legs on.
