Armywife's Armyhusband needs help

My husband has to do PT (physical training) every morning. They do a lot of running (at least 5k's) plus calesthenics. Since it has gotten colder, he is having problems with his hamstrings. He says they don't warm up much and they start into the exercises after just a few leg stretches and bends. There isn't any chance of getting a few days off, and if he complains about it he'd be considered shaming ,(as long as he can walk he shouldn't be complaining).

Is there anything he can do at home before or after to ease the pain or warm him up faster ?

PS Its about a twenty to thirty minute drive in between his leaving the house and getting on the base he works at.

Try Tiger Balm. Or any other kind of drugstore bought preparation that rubs on and causes a warm feeling. A-535 or something like that.

well I did martal arts and we do this thing called a horse stance or a wall sit if you know what that is. any who you just spread your feet out and get your butt down like your sitting on a small stool (so your legs are parallel with the ground), also I stand on the balls of my feet while doing this, which should definatly warm him up after two-five mins and shouldn't be detrimental to his running later on, as ive taken a 80-120 LBS weighted suite then go sprinting up large hills (not a great idea by the way). low tech, not very scientific but try it anyway.

thanx guys...they finally let him go to the physical therapy dudes...they said he's got really poor range of motion. Gave him a no running profile for thirty days and exercises (stretching ) to do.

 now if he'd do them...
