Any thoughts on the Gazelle?

I just ordered one and I've heard mixed reviews. Please let me know what you all think. Thanks ahead of time.

Gazelle

I purchased one in March 2002 and am pleased with it. I replaced a Tunturri bike that I loved with it at the request of my wife & daughter. They've used it maybe 5 times between them.

Anyway - it only gets used 15-20 mins at a time, 3-4 times per week, but it's held up quite nicely. I used it as a warmup for my Powerblocks workout and am very glad that I have it.

The new one with the resistance looks to be OK. It burns calories but because of the unusual movement, I don't think that it does a whole lot of "normal" toning.

I don't use the resistance since I lift afterwards. I use it strictly for warming up. For that purpose it's actually better than the bikes I used for 20 some-odd years. On its own, it's probably not all that great. But then I'd say that about any cardio machine.

Does it actually work for weight loss though? I've been to their site and I can't really trust whatever is on there...
I've been planning on buying one because I can't get to the gym every day and need to lose 20 lbs.

Machines don't work for weight loss - people do. Anything that you will use will have a positive effect on your body. For example - walking or running plus crunches and push-ups work quite well for someone who hasn't exercised in awhile.

With anything though, you'll also need to watch your diet if weight loss is your goal. Diet (50%) + Exercise (50%) will always provide the best results possible.

Yes - the Gazelle will help you but no more (or less) than any other cardio machine. The key is that you use it.
