Ahhh the crash diet.
Here's the bottom line. Most people get fat because they have bad eating habits, often eating too much and eating unbalanced diets which are full of high calorie food. Losing weight is only half the battle, because without some kind of permanent change to your behaviour, once you finish the diet you'll revert back to old habits and put weight back on.
Most crash dieters put back on the weight once they finish their diets, it starts with a very rapid gain of fat after the diet has finish because the abuse to their body has messed with their metabolism. But more importantly they've not learned a better lifestyle, people revert back to their previous behaviour and in fact a lot of crash dieters end up gaining more weight after they've finished their diet than what they started, that kind of Yo-Yo diet is very bad for you.
Doctors (good doctors) recommend a HEALTHY and BALANCED diet with plenty of exercise to lose weight for a reason, simply because this is most reliable at causing weight loss but also maintaining correct weight after your diet is finished. What you're doing is learning how to treat your body properly and with respect, learning new routines and lifestyle changes which you can maintain for life.
If you cheat your diet you wont learn anything and statistically you're more likely to gain that weight back over a few years after your diet is finished, that's not my opinion that's just what studies show us about crash dieting.
This isn't an attack on HCG, there are plenty of sources which will tell you why it's not a good idea, this is about crash dieting in general, any crash diet where you use some kind of trick to rapidly lose weight.
