Alright. So basically I weigh 145 and trying to go up. First off, for guys who are as thin as me and are trying to gain muscle mass, very few things work. What seems to work for me though is to take in protein right before a workout (usually chicken and an oatmeal shake). Then after the workout give my body a rush of carbs to prevent cortosol.
Now about the beer. Beer is basically liquid bread. Its cramed with carbs, which unlike all other alchohol (except Sake which is made from rice) is packed with carbs rather than sugar. So often I begin drinking a beer right near the end of my workout and continue to drink two before I goto bed. It has been only 3 weeks and my max has gone up 35 lbs.
BUT: I also started working at a Mechanic shop about 4 weeks ago. I also live in Florida. And ALSO the heat index is 100+ every day, so needless to say I sweat my ass off.
So what I want to hear everyones input on this. Im not sure if its going to have this effect forever being that Im 18 right now (shhhhhh....).
