Angela's Journey. I'm going to do it!

I started a journal about a year ago, but I haven't done anything with it and I'm even 20 lbs heavier than I was then. Ugh.

So this is my 2008 journal. I'm now 194 lbs at 5'7.

My name is Angela, and I have two incredibly handsome boys (and a handsome husband ;) ). My boys are 2 years old and 4 years old so they keep me busy busy busy! I also work as a casual long term care aide.

I'm taking part in the Body Transformation contest here on thsi site and I am super stoked! I am going to lose weight and tone up. I have set my weight loss goal to 144 pounds which may go up a few pounds or down a few pounds. It really all depends on how I'm feeling. Three years ago I lost a lot of weight and got down to 153 and felt wonderful.

I am shceduled for a consultation for a breast reduction in the next four or so months, so I need to lose weight (when I lost weight before, my chest size never went down at all). I'd hate to get the reduction done now and then lose weight and shrink to an A cup (no offense anyone!). If I did decide to go ahead and get it done, I want to be in the best shape possible because of the medications and such.

I want to be a good role model for my children. I don't want them to have the struggles with being overweight. I don't want them to be teased all throughout school because they were fat. I don't want them to feel as crappy about themselves as I have.

For the past four years I have put myself on the back burner. I had my first son four years ago, and my second son two years ago. There's no doubt about it, my kids get their needs met before mine. I need to give myself a little bit more time though. I feel about 20 years older than I actually am, and I feel that I look older than I am. So I'm hoping when I lose weight, I will look younger. And hopefully I get out of this mom fashion (ugh, sweatpants, sweatshirts, hair in a ponytail).

Anyways, in my journal I will probably just ramble on. I'm good at rambling. ;)

Here are my pictures from a couple of days ago:
So I really want to lose weight all over. Get rid of my big butt, love handles, chest. I do have nice calves though ;)

Today was a good day for the most part. i have a bad headache though. I'm weaning myself off of coffee and today i'm down to 25% regular and 75% decaf and only one cup in the AM. A few weeks ago i was drinking 100% regular coffee, and 3 cups+ a day. it wouldn't be bad if I only drank straight black coffee, but I need 2 tsp of sugar plus creamer in each cup. That's a lot of extra calories.

Anyways, today was good. On to tommorow.

Somehow in the last 3 or 4 days Ive lost 6 lbs. I've really tweeked my diet though. Was eating at LEAST 3000 calories a day :puke: but now I've been doing really good. I know it'll slow down, and i hope it does because i know 6 lbs in a few days isn't good.

So now to decide how to balance cardio and weight lifting. I have some 2, 3, and 5 lb hand weights (weak I know!), a pilates twist board, tony little gazelle (piece of crap), Turbo jams, Leslie Sanson Walk & Jog, Turbo Sculpt (45 mins of weight lifting).

I love the Leslie Sansone walk & jog, and I love the turbo sculpt, so I'm thinking 3 days of walk & jog (1/2 hour each cardio) and 3 days a week of turbo sculpt (45 mins weight lifting)??

Still plugging away. I bought today. I'm hoping it works in my house because it looks like a great piece of equipment. I'm down .6 lbs from yesterday, yes yes, I'm weighing myself every day, but it's working. I'm feeling really good! :)

Ahhhhhh, I just realized that the thing I bought yesterday won't work in my house unless I can convince my husband to put trim in our living room doorway. :banghead: Serves me right for not reading the box.

I'm going to start doing yoga today. I bought a beginners yoga dvd to do in the mornings when the kids are busy playing. Hopefully will just give me a little boost in the AM.

What I'm wondering though, is anyone even reading my journal or am i rambling to myself :bigear:

hi angela!
i browsed through your journal and saw your pictures -- i think you are very pretty and can only imagine how good you will look after the transformation. and your little boy is adorable! (you can see him in one of the pictures!)

i love doing yoga. i am sure you'll have a lot of fun with your dvd. i am not doing any exercieses now -- exept dancing in my room basically most of the time instead of studying ;), but if i had to choose something i would go back to yoga. it's so calming yet i get really tired and sweaty after it.

how have you been doing with your diet lately?

my kids are both super cute! :) my youngest (2 years old) was doing yoga with me this morning. my oldest (4 years old) lifts 2 lb handweights, then flexes his muscles and says "check out my guns". hahahaha its so cute!

diet is good!!!! :)

So i finally got around to setting up my doorway gym thinger, and I realized that the trim on my bedroom door is on the wrong side for that thing to work :smash: So I will be getting my husband to screw a 2x4 to the top of the doorframe by the kitchen. Hopefully that will work.

I tried to do JUST ONE regular normal pushup....won't happen. I can only do two granny pushups. It's something to work on though. Just shows how weak I am now. :icon_bs: My goal is to be able to do 10 regular pushup by May.
