Hey Andy, well done on the 20lb loss!

BTW - 20lbs in what - six weeks? - that's a really good rate of weight loss! You should be proud of yourself.

:hurray:

Hey cord! Thanks for coming by and supporting! When you say it like that, you remind me that this isn't going to happen overnight. Its funny, because it feels like I've been doing this change for much longer than 6-7 weeks haha. I hadn't taken starting measurements, but I can tell some of my shirts fit way better, and although its small, it goes a LONG way for building confidence.

BTW im doing the august challenge. Im excited to lose 10 this month.

Incredible weight loss! Keep it up! And remember, we all have days we don't feel like following it, just stick with it and stay positive!

Best
Kevin

I suggest taking measurements now, then. You can continue to track from this point. Watching the numbers get smaller on the tape is even more exciting than watching the numbers go down on the scale.

Clothing size is good too. I know the shirts I was wearing four months ago look like tents on me now. I've gone down to 2XL and even those are comfortably roomy now.

It does feel great, though, doesn't it?

Had a pretty easy going weekend. Nothing drastic, pretty ordinary! :p

I'm starting to feel like I've got a strong hold on what my body needs. Eating healthy really is its own reward; your body responds by feeling great, and providing energy and overall good feelings. I set a pretty steep goal to be 325 by the end of this weekend, which happens to be my birthday weekend /cheer! I'm gonna end up pretty close to it, and I'm pretty excited about that.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Weighed in this morning, surprised to see 330.6. I ate more than usual, but certainly not enough to warrant 2 pounds. I think I retained a little extra water, so today ill do my normal routine, and tomorrow we shall see.

Fluctuations of a couple pounds either way is normal. Take the long view, and watch the overall trend go down.

So many things can affect scale weight - water, salt, time of day, exercise, how long since you ate, how long since you went to the bathroom.

I try to measure what I jokingly call my "dry weight". I try for about the same time of day, once a week, after going to the bathroom and exercising, but before eating or drinking.

Hey cord,

Thanks for stopping by. Yea, I weigh in the same time every morning, right after I wake up. Regardless of whether I'm hungry/thirsty whatever. It gives me a pretty accurate number. And yea, it does fluctuate a bit from time to time, but its always going the right direction week after week. I've really spoiled myself, and for the past 2 weeks have been sleeping in instead of getting up early and getting early morning fitness in. I'm still losing weight, but I know it could be more if I would just force myself to do it. I know down the line I'll HAVE to start to keep up the weight loss.

Anyways, ate pretty well yesterday. Baked up a great cut of salmon with some mesquite maranade, and it was very good! Still struggling to get vegetables in, so if anyone has any tips, feel free to share. Other than that, everything seems to be going smoothly.

Tomorrows my birthday, and I was looking to be at 330 for it, so I made my goal. Next up, Im ready to hit the 3-teens. Anyways, not much to update now.
Got some ground turkey at home im excited to eat tonight! Gonna make a killer chili with some salsa and pinto beans. yum yum

haha thanks cord for the sentiment.

I had a truly excellent weekend, and ate way too much haha. I weighed in this morning at 330.6, which is up from my last weigh in, but I understand why. I'm not worried though, by the end of this week I should be back on track.

I have a goal for myself by the end of august (326) , and mid sept. (320)

I know it may seem kinda steep, but im pretty sure with my weight I can comfortably do it.

Today is my last day of work before a 4 day weekend. I hate to be a time watcher, but I feel like im watching the clock before summer break starts haha.

I'm noticing a pretty disturbing trend. I will have an awesome week, but I tend to lose a lot of my progress during the weekends. 3 steps forwards 2 steps back. This weekend, I am pledging to abstain from beer and all its delicious empty calorie glory. Its only negating a lot of my previous hardwork every time I drink. A few beers adds up surprisingly quick, and in this house's case, usually evolves into pizzas/burritos/burger runs.

So my plan of action is to keep a FOCUS on what I am eating from friday until sunday night. I would love to start monday where I left off on friday.

Had a nice long vacation. Saw the new tarentino movie, and I highly recommend it. On the food front, I did pretty stellar except for a few late night snack attacks. I didn't drink nearly as much water as I should have, but overall I'm satisfied with how this weekend went. Also, I wore an old t-shirt that was too tight 15 pounds ago, and that made me feel really awesome.

I know I am still not at my goal, but small things like that do wonders for confidence. Gonna keep the hardwork up and try and finish august with more success.

It's great to fit into those old clothes, eh?

I just pulled out a big box of stuff I put away a couple of years ago. I love being able to wear that stuff again, and it is saving me having to go buy a bunch of new stuff. That I want to save for when I get to, or close to, my goal weight.

And I understand the forward and back thing - I've been doing that all summer long. I'm sure we will both get through it. I'm hoping that going back to work is going to help.

hey i decided to jump in here and support you as well, i can't let cord ahve all the fun lol. I tell you what about the old clothes. its fun until your old closthes become too big as well. then it becomes expensive... i try to wait until i drop a couple sizes in pants before i buy new ones and shirts are about the same. i started out at about 330, so i can tell you that it will be a fun ride! i'll tell you as you keep going the weight will amtter less and less and you start seeing the the results on your body and nnot the scale. i still want to at least get to 225. i think i'll be look pretty decent there. 200 is my goal, but i think 225 when me and the scale part ways and its just about me devloping the body i want. keep up the hard work!

Cord - thanks as always for the support. As far as I see it, weight fluctuations are GOING to happen. I guess as long as they are trending lower, then its all good haha. I'm looking to get back into my xxl shirts by winter (when I'll need a sweater anyways :S). But here in arizona, it doesnt get below 90 until october, so I got some time to hit that goal.

Kure - First off, thanks for coming by :) I totally get what you mean with the nex clothes expenses. Although I would plan to get more clothing down the line, I still have a literal closet full of large to extra large clothes I never really got to wear. Losing these last few pounds will actually enlarge my wardrobe, for free too! I get what you mean about getting to that point where you don't need to weigh in every day, and its more about maintenance. It's something I think I'd be able to handle, but thats way down the line for me.

I'm happy to say I'm finally seeing a difference in the mirror. Its subtle, but its good. Im also keeping a photo log every 10 pounds. I have one at 350 340 and 330 atm. I haven't noticed it as much in those, but I plan on posting them all at once.

CW: 326.0

Seems low, but again, its likely just a fluctuation. Its nice to see though!

I always assumed I would post the collage when I was finished. I never considered posting an "incomplete" series. Maybe ill do a sneak preview when I hit 300, because it'll be a huge milestone for me.

Pretty easy day today. Got some fish marinading at home in the fridge, and im drooling at the thought of it haha. Nothing major to post today. Zoning in on 30 pounds even (322.4), im bored with the 320-329 bracket. Bring on the 310-319!

Seriously though, and this may just be my point of view. Once I hit 320, I will ***officially*** be at the last 100 pounds till my goal weight. Don't really know how to explain my psyche on this one, but its almost like I was so far behind, I had "lapped" myself. Its a huge milestone for me, because each pound afterward is a % towards my goal (I'm kind of insane with crunching numbers, I guess it comes from working in accounting lolol)

See you guys tomorrow with more updates.
