Well first of all i would like to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Andrew and i am from Toronto, and a 4th year university student. In April i decided i was sick and tired of being a 260lb person, (height of 5"10). One day i decided to start eating healthy, and actually putting use to the gym membership that i had. I stayed in Toronto until the beggining of July, and my efforts were paying off. At that point i had managed to get down to 215lbs, through eating properly and running at the gym every day i started to really slim down. I was eating aprox 1600 calories a day, and i had built up enough tolerance on the treadmill to jog for 4-5 miles a day. I decided at the end of June that i would come out to Halifax for the summer, and immediately got a gym membership out here as well. I have been here since July the 3rd and am happy to report that my weight is 195 pounds. I have gone from a size 40" waistline, to a 34-36. And i have thrown out most of my clothes that were marked XL, or XXL and am wearing L t-shirts. I have even had to start poking new holes in my belts as none of my 1 month old, size 36 pants were able to stay up without one! In the 4 months that i have been doing this i have been challenged more then i have in my entire life but everything is starting to come together. I am happier, everyone see's the new me that i knew i could be. I feel great, and i am for the first time starting to feel like i am actually getting into shape. (And i have lost about 65lbs)

And so i have joined this forum in hope to keep motivated. I am looking to lose another 30 or so pounds (weight of 165). I know that i needed to do something to A) keep me motivated and B) would help me keep the weight off, so i decided to join this forum where i could find and interact with people who were going through similar experiences and changes. I look forward to meeting many of you, as we go through our journeys to a happier and healthier lifestyle. thank you!

And just to add- I added a before and after photo into an album on my profile. Feel free to check it out!

I'll respond! Welcome to the forum Andrew! Sounds like you have a plan that really works for you, great job on keeping it up while at school and while moving around. This is def a great forum for support and motivation.

thanks very much:) I am excited to become a part of such a positive and active community! Hoping to meet many more of you!

So today was pretty good. Unfortunately i was not able to make it into the gym, but i did manage to get about an hour or so of walking. For the day i ate:
Breakfast- Multigrain Bagel, with 1/2 serving of light cream cheese and cucumbers
Lunch- Sandwich and Side Salad
Dinner- Carrot and Ginger Soup, Maple Smoked Salmon with pear, apple, and blueberry salsa! (I didn't make this- i went to a nice resto!)
i also had about half a small slurpee! it was midnight and i couldn't resist!

All in all my day was good. I felt my intake was about where it needs to be to continue losing weight. The fact that i am under 200 is extremely positive. I will write again Tomorrow:)
Good night,
-Andrew

Alright so i guess i will make a mid-day post! it's about 2:30 right now. So far today has been pretty good. I got up for work at 5:45am (I have a temporary job for the summer handing out newspapers in the morning- 3 hours a day and 12 dollars an hour, i can't complain as i am just visiting this summer for a couple months until school starts up again). So far my Daily intake has been:

Breakfast- Low Fat, Apple + Cran + Bran Muffin.
Small Coffee

Lunch- Ham Sandwich- 1 small slice of cheese with lots and lots of veggies, and mustard. 1 Coffee

Snack- 100 calorie/ 2.0 g fat, pack of those Oreo Snacker things. Hey it's not great for me, but i was craving something sweet.

After work around 9:30 i went to the gym for an hour. Ran 4.0 Miles, walked 1 mile, and did some Ab excerscizes. I also walk to work, and from there to the gym and from there home. All in all it's about an hour worth of walking.
Everything has been pretty good so far today, really relaxed mood, i want to have a lazy day- It's raining and i've already done my workout :) I'll post back later tonight with an update.

Hey your eats sound yummers. I have yet to try the cream cheese with cucumbers on a bagel shpeal. I may give it a shot this weekend. I could never run 4 miles on the mill. Well, I probably could, but I haven't even thought to attempt it. I want to do a 5k this October, or September, or both... I just haven't signed up yet.

Anyways see you around :)
