You are doing amazingly!

Oh, and cheesecake.. mmmm *drool*

Love that!

Haha thank you! I must admit I did do a mini dance afterwards ;) I think being up late last night and being too hyperactive so probably burnt off another pound or two by the general bouncing around the place...I don't know why but had such a great mood for a Sunday night! Hope you go brilliantly this week too

Mini dance, eh? Awesome!

Anything to keep burning calories :) I'm not much of a dancer. Actually, I'm not any kind of dancer! The most dancing I've done in the last 10 years is twirling around a pole at a bar this past Halloween while under the influence of some alcoholic beverages. Dunno if that counts.

Anyway, hope all is well and that you're still in a good mood!

Yes, I'm in a good mood. Fallen in love with my apple crumble recipe and going through a Boston Legal phase.

I will :) I just had fresh fruit today for my two servings so I was good! Shatner IS amazing

Day EIGHTEEN!

I can't believe I have stuck with this for 18 days now! That is incredible by my standards. One of my flatmates came back after a week away and was amazed at the change in my face, must have lost some of the puffiness...luckily we are going into summer over here so lots of salad veges and fresh fruit, yay!

Drinking more water again too which hopefully will help with the weight loss.

Andie...

Hey guys!

Woops haven't been on here in a little while, had a bit of a hectic weekend but I have started my Christmas shopping and stuck to my diet so I am happy happy. Weigh in this morning and I am 76.9 kgs which is 0.5 kgs down on last week... so currently 169.5 lbs, and a drop of 1.1 lbs. I'm going well even though it has slowed down this week, but after a moment, I realised it is still a 6.6 kg (14.5 lb) drop since I started this three weeks ago so I am still happy happy...and any weight loss is great, even if it is slow and steady! However, I think I might not be having enough water during the day so going to focus on that this week. I don't have too many cravings anymore so that is awesome! I also did measurements and have lost (give or take a few cms due to not measuring in exactly the same place) 22 cms (8.6 inches) all over, mainly from waist, hips and bust/upper back level.

Very close to my first mini goal of 76.0 kgs! Then I can try my mini cheesecake recipe  the last time I seriously tried to lose weight was from about September last year till February of this year and I lost about the same amount as I have lost so far, the lowest I got to was about 76.9 kgs, I can't remember exactly). However, it took a huge amount of effort and when the Christchurch earthquake happened and there stopped being an easy way to keep it up due to stress, lack of clean water and insane uni schedules after losing a month in my final year papers, the weight flew back on very very quickly and I changed my priorities into getting my degree finished and out of the way...and I have no regrets about that but I am just amazed by how easy this has been since I started Cohen's!

Anyways, fun wee rambling for the day...have written myself an epic to do list for this week for work and otherwise, way too many things I have put off doing in the last few months that need to be done so need to get a few done this week before the insanity of December hits! :santa:

Haha it throws my mind into this weird crazy spiral to think of Christmas in the summer! 14.5 lbs in 3 weeks is insaaaaane! Great job, Andie!! Definitely make getting that water in a big priority, it really helps and you will for sure see a greater loss!

You're so close to cheesecake!! yay!

Thank you! I LOVED reading your familys' reaction to your incredible weight loss. I live 30 mins drive from my parents so no surprises for them, but they have been very supportive and Mum is happy to organise meals for me when I go out there. Haha, Christmas in summer is quite wonderful, you can have picnics for lunch and play back yard cricket, petanque or volleyball in the afternoon. However, I am always exceedingly jealous of all the countries that get to have a snowy Christmas! It always looks so so beautiful!

The water is definitely helping, for one it is making me feel better. Yay! Cheesecake so soon, hopefully the recipe works and if it does I will of course put it up here
smile.gif

You're doing such a great job! That cheesecake is going to taste so good and well deserved. You're doing great. I think I've heard of Cohen's before, but I'm not completely sure. The key is that it's working for you!

I agree with Sparked, it's hard to believe Christmas in summer! lol

Day 28, four weeks in.

This counts as my first month so I need to go and have a followup blood test tonight to check up with how I am going. First thing this morning I weighed myself and I was 75.3 kgs!!!!!!!! (166 pounds for non kg people). So that is a drop of 1.6 kgs since last week (3.5 lbs) and 8.2 kgs since I started this properly a month ago (18.2 lbs). So I am very excited! Got a few compliments from friends over the weekend, which was nice as they know I have been working hard at this and went to a movie on Saturday night and couldn't eat tea till after the movie had started so had brocolli and cottage cheese for tea...worst movie snack ever!

But as you might know, I'm now under 76 kgs which means CHEESECAKE tonight!!!!!! Hopefully it works out as I think I have built this up in my head a lot haha.

Will let you know how it goes :)

Andie xx

Woooo! Nice, Andie!

You're doing so great! The compliments will only continue!

Aw, c'mon - broccoli and cottage cheese doesn't sound too bad for a flick!

Enjoy the cheesecake! :p

Hey,

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. Work has been insanely busy and when I haven't been working, there has been xmas presents to buy and things to go to. I have stuck to my diet through all of them up until two days ago. The last two days have been two eating out Christmas dinners. Monday wasn't too bad, with friends. I had a Vietnamese salad which had some dressing through it but my main problem was I ate more than my allowance...oops. Then last night was worse, I had my work Christmas dinner and I ordered steamed Chinese veges (thought that would be safe)...and they had some sort of sauce through it. It was delicious, but I doubt it would have been something that was on my list I can eat. But as work was paying for it, and they got me something in particular instead of lumping me in with everyone elses meals which was nice of them, I ate it. I checked the scales this morning and I've gone up 600 grams (1.3 lbs) since monday morning, which isn't horrific but isn't something I am proud of because it was an effort to lose that 600 grams in the first place! But I have drunk a lot of water in the past 24 hours to flush any of the bad stuff out of my system and the rest of the Christmas break should be fine (these were the only two things where I was eating out and couldn't bring my own food to the event). Bring on the end of this week and Christmas so I can stop worrying about work and focus on what I am eating and doing. The plan is to go for a walk (even a small one) and a 20 mins pilates dvd every day over my 2 week holiday.

Right, thanks for putting up with my mini rant at myself. It could have been worse but the main thing that I'm annoyed about is that I overate both nights, not by much but by enough to know that my motivation when there isn't a set restriction on what I can eat is not under control yet. Things to work on!

Hope all of your preparations for Christmas are going well!

Andie xxx

PS. I'm currently, as of this morning, on 72.8 kgs (160.5 pounds). That is a little more than 20 pounds off my goal weight, which is very cool! So if I can stick to my diet over Christmas and New Years (and my family will be very helpful with that...) then I should be under 70kg (154 lbs) before 2012!

PPS. Just a bit of background information, I haven't been at the weight I am now since 2008, and its (probably been since the end of 2007/beginning of 2008 since I've been under 70kg! I didn't weigh myself that much back then so I kind of associate weights with events more than have a record and one of my friends and I tried to get to 65kg, or 143 lbs (she was 71kg, I was 73kg) in the first semester of 2008 hence why I have some idea over my weight then. We failed by the way haha, but that was based on a gym routine, not by changing eating (or more importantly, drinking) habits. I think I was about 63kgs (139 lbs) when I started university (and I wasn't in fantastic shape but it was manageable) at the beginning of 2006 and I'm aiming to get back to about that weight, or wherever my body feels comfortable closer to that weight

Hi Andie!

1.3lb is definitely not something to beat yourself over
smile.gif
That salad and veggies sounded very good, but the sauce.. yeah. Probably loaded with sodium. I'd say the majority of that slight gain is retention and should come off in no time!

What an exciting thing to be under a weight you haven't been under in almost 4 years! A little over 20lb to your goal weight is awesome! We're roughly at about the same distance!

Keep up the great work! Oh, and your sentiments about wanting the holidays to be over and done with are shared by many! I cannot wait either - the craziness is wearing me out!

Day 63...

So...as all can imagine, the last few weeks hasn't been the easiest time to stick to one of these diets and I finally took a "break" from mine. I was actually really good at Christmas but went away for half a week over New Years and it became too difficult (and I lacked motivation) to stick to the diet while on holiday. I didn't drink though which is good, as I've heard that alcohol can affect your metabolism for up to two weeks after a night out. The break wasn't the issue though, the issue was the motivation to start it up again and stick to it had been destroyed in the 5 days of not dieting! So it has been a very long week since last Wednesday of forcing myself to not eat things that I'm not allowed...have been craving chocolate like nothing else!! :drool5:

But I think now I have got over the worst of it and yesterday was much easier to stick to the meals and snacks that are allocated and today is going well so far. It's been three weeks since I checked my weight (probably a good thing) and I did this morning and I'm at 71.5 kg (157 pounds) which isn't as bad as I thought! It just makes me feel that I have wasted 2 weeks, but I need to just come out of this more committed to get to the end! Its 6 weeks from today till I start university again and I'm aiming to be under 66kg (146 pounds) by then! My friends are all starting their new year resolutions this week (lose weight, go to the gym more, eat healthier, all the usual ones :p) so I'm going to draw from their motivation and join them at the gym tomorrow!

Yeah it is so exciting to be under 74 kg and be healthier than I've been in a long time! I've been cleaning out my wardrobe over the holiday break and there were so many things that I could now fit! Which of course made it harder to clean things out haha, but should stop any insane shopping sprees when I reach my goal weight.

I love that we both have a similar distance to go, I feel like I've come in time for your sprint to the end haha! Which by the way is phenomenal and you look fantastic! If you want to come to Christchurch (the shakey city as proven again over Christmas, fun times) one of my friends thinks you are pretty hot haha, I can't remember who she said you looked like so I'll have to ask her again but it was some celebrity ;)

Hoping the extra weight gained was just retention and hence why I'm back at a similar weight now...pushing on for under 70kgs still! Aiming to get that off in the next two weeks so i can push full steam ahead for the 66kg before uni starts!

Andie xo

Day 64.

Feeling much better today as I stuck to the diet perfectly yesterday and got 40 minutes of pilates in. Woke up this morning and had dropped 700 grams (1.54 pounds) to 70.8 kg which confirmed my thought that I had put on retention weight with the straying last week. Hopefully will continue to drop a little more this week so I feel back in the swing of things!

Hope you are all having a lovely day!

Andie x
