I figured I'd start my own little diary on here, because it seems like it would be the only way that I would stay focused.
Let me start by saying that my name is Kristi... I am 22 years old, and I am 5'5 and I weigh 138. Although I don't have much to lose right now, I am slowly seeing my weight creeping up...and I'd like to get a handle on it now!

I'm mostly a health food eater, and it makes it easier that my boyfriend is also the same way...so whatever I make at home, he will eat too! It makes it nice to have someone by my side trying to be healthy.

The reason that I am wanting to lose weight and tone up right now, is because we booked a cruise for March 2009...so that would def. be my goal date!

So, let it begin!!!

So, I'm on my third day of trying to eat healthier and exercising....

Must say one thing, I thought I was eating like a reallly balanced diet before..but now that I'm puting my foods into FitDay it seems like I'm having wayyyy to many carbs in a day!! I'll weigh myself once a week tho so I won't get discouraged!

Breakfast: Muffin and a green tea w/ lemon
Lunch: Whole grain Noodles with brocolli and chicken in alfredo sauce and a water
Dinner: Salad with balsamic vinnagerete dressing, with chicken and feta cheese

I probably should be eating a snack somewhere in there...just not sure what I need more of protein?? maybe..not sure what I'd have

Just wanted to give a little update. :)
 
Well, I'm back!! I actually just wrote out a big post..but then I hit a button and lost it all! aggghhh I hate when things like that happen! I'll try to remember everything that it said..

I haven't really been working out too much lately! :blush5: I REALLY need to start doing that...its just hard when I feel like all I do is go to work and then come home and go to bed. I do have a Wii Fit, but I only really do it on the weekends! I think my goal should be that I am going to work out 3 times during the week.

Today we had a company picnic, and there was NO healthy food there! Although, I think I did pretty good considering. But, of course, I came home and had Arby's for dinner..I reallllly can't resist that place!!!

What I ate today:
Breakfast- 2 pieces of cinnamon/raisan toast with cream cheese, and a green tea with lemon.
Lunch- meatballs, and a small italian ice
Snack- 4 bite size puff pastaries (from Costco with chocolate or rasberry filling) with a decaffinated tea.
Dinner- Arbys! (Turkey Bacon Cheddar wrap, fries, 1 jalapeno popper, and 2 small loaded potato bites)

I guess my day doesn't look too good at all when I write it out! It anyone has any suggestions for things I should add/or stuff that they like to eat, let me know!

So, I weighed myself this morning..and I am at 133, which is down 5 pounds!

We're having a little picnic today, so hopefully I can eat right. The good thing is that a few of the people that are going, are also eating healthy and trying to lose weight...so there should be healthy food here (hopes!).

I still haven't been working out, I reallllly need to start! :blush5: It's so much easier to say that I am going to start doing something, then to actually get up and do it!

Anyways...just wanted to track my update.

I worship fitday :cool: . If it wasn't for that site, I would definatly take in waaaaaaaaaay too many calories per day.

When I started this journey I made sure to go to EVERY fast food site and look up the nutritional value on EVERYthing. It's amazing how many calories (and SODIUM) that's in everything! I'm an arby's lover too but it makes me not want anything from any fast food joint after looking at how many calories/fat/sodium everything has. :ack2:

Turkey/Bacon/Cheddar Wrap: 817 cal/37g fat/2146mg sodium
Fries (small): 338 cal/20g fat/791mg sodium
1 jalapeno: 61 cal/4g fat/105mg sodium
2 potato bites: 141 cal/9g fat/320mg sodium
Total: 1357 cal/202g fat/3362mg sodium

I noticed that simply googling "calories in... blueberry muffins," for example, or any food for that matter, can provide you with a really good idea of the caloric value of things. I was amazed when I found out that the things I thought were healthy as a snack were over 450 calories.

I also have a Wii Fit and LOVE it! I go to the gym a lot so I don't have time to get on the fit everyday. But when I do, I love to see the overall progress. My balance is improving and so is my flexibility. The best part is seeing my BMI go down. :)

Anyway, I'm sure you'll be looking great for that cruise in no time! Keep up the great work!
