And I thought loosing weight was hard....

Now that I've lost all this fat, I'm finding gaining weight, in muscle is much harder. I'm so used to eating so little that now when I'm supposed to eat alot it's pretty tough. If I get 3-5 meals a day I need to stuff myself in order to just get up to maintenace level in calories, never mind going a bit above that to fuel my attempted bulk.

If I got over 5 or six meals a day, 1st of all I'm not hungry, and second of all I'd be eating non-stop!!

Any tips for getting up my calories (without resorting to lots of fat and sugar) or at least getting up my appetite?

Are you working out HARD? Are you watching the TV in the gym, chatting with friends? Or are you going to the gym with the thought "Man, I am going to hit exercise XYZ so freakin hard today, I can't wait"??? If you workout with enough "oomph", you'll be plenty hungry.

Make sure your meals are properly sized (calorie and protein wise) and spaced out enough (in hours).

Working hard wont get you big if you cant get down the cals.
Remember that you sort of adapt after a cut, so eating more will be hard at first, but then it will usually pick up, and you will be able to do it more easily as you adapt to eating more.

Yeah just what Karky said.

I really struggled to eat 6 meals a day but now my stomach has expanded and now it is normal. I hate it when I don't have 6 meals a day.

A year ago I usually skipped breakfast. Now I must eat breakfast in a morning or else I don't feel right.

ive stoped bulking, i cant do it, i cant eat no where near enough and protein shakes make me bloating and feel like sh!t all day. so i just bascily try eat healthy now and work out hard. im stuck on 12.8 stone , im happy enough with that. so like u i cud do with sum tips aswell.

come on man utd!!! ;o

I wanted Man Utd to win...

Drogba with the cheesiest goal ever, little toepoke, I hate how when he has no chance of scoring he falls over in the box to tries and claim a penalty.

if you absolutely think that you cannot gain weight by eating healthy, solid food, buy a good quality weight gainer. take a serving in the morning. since its a powder that you can mix with liquid, its a easy way to get in calories. dont neglect eating. eat every 2 hours, or as often as possible. for you hardgainers, you have to work as hard at eating as you do in the gym. probably harder.

I see how this problem can exist, but what about the opposite. After adapting to bulking, how do you guys deal with eating roughly 1000 calories less per day. It seems like you would be starving!

so if you were eating 3200 cals a day bulking, and you eat 2200 for cutting? im guessing maintenance is 2700? what i would do is eat the ~2700 and do cardio 3-4 times a week and eat very clean. its not starving; its simply making sure you burn more than you consume
