Amy's Slimdown Diary-Recording My New Way Of Life

Hi, My name is Amy, and I am an overweight 35 year old wife and Mother of two cute toddlers. I have been struggling to lose weight since the birth of my last child in 2007, and every "diet" I've tried has only led to more and more weight gain. NOT the result I'm looking for. I have tried Slimfast, Atkins, Suzanne Somers, The Lemonade Diet, starving myself, low-cal diets,..............you name it, I've probably tried it. Well, I finally got wise this past week, and after trying to figure out how to go about losing this excess weight permanently, I hit on a doable plan. I realized that I've been going about trying to lose weight the wrong way. All the diets I've tried have focused on eating certain foods, and what I really need to do is focus on building muscle. I need to stop trying to do the diets that promise huge amounts of weight loss in a matter of weeks, and I need to start working out and going by how loose my clothes are getting on me. So after I decided this was the way to go, I remembered a book that my hubby has that was written by Larry North. I had read through it five or so years ago, and completely forgot about it. (I was a size 5 for a long time, pre-baby days). I knew the book was put away in one of his many boxes of books, so I sat down and pulled the boxes out and went through them one by one until I located what I was looking for. I took the book into the bedroom and sat down to read it. Let me tell you, it just clicked. It makes so much sense, and it's so easy to do. I would advise anyone who wants to change their outlook on permanent weight loss to get hold of this book and begin to apply it. It doesn't require starving yourself or spending hours every day at a gym. It's written for every day people with busy lives who need a doable plan that they can incorporate into their daily meals and activities. He explains metabolism, muscle, the right foods to eat that will feed muscle and starve fat, and it is just absolutely awesome. It's the program I am following. I'm going out grocery shopping tomorrow, and I'm applying what he says to how I eat from now on. I know I will see a permanent change. It's impossible not to if a person sticks to his program. So, I have started my exercise routine, and after only two days of workouts, I can tell you I have a lot more energy and I feel so much better about myself. I am planning on working out six days a week, and eating five healthy meals each day. I will write in my diary each day to keep track of everything I am eating and doing, and how I feel each day. I will be taking my measurements, also, and I will weigh and measure myself weekly, but I'm not going to obsess over my weight any longer. I'm going to focus on how my clothes are fitting.

That's all for now, but I will be posting in this diary often. If anyone else would like to join me, you are more than welcome.

My weight loss journey has begun. Goodbye fat clothes, Hello again skinny, sexy outfits!!!!
