I've never done anything like this before. Forum wise. So I'm hoping that with help from everyone that wants to give it to me, it'll help me.
I am currently 27 in age. With 3 Kids. Ages 6-3-2 months.
My current weight as of last night is 263lbs.
My "ideal" weight is 140lbs. But I've never been that. Even when I was active in sports. I was more 160-170.
My goal weight is to be back around 160-170. I would be happy there. And the time frame... whenever or however long it takes.
I know that setting my "final weight" goal so soon will just frustrate me if I don't lose weight quick enough so to say.
So my current goal would be to lose 30 or so pounds by Christmas time.
Also another goal of mine would be to become more active and actually use the gym membership that I pay for.
I currently eat anywhere from 1200-1700 calories a day. Depending on what my family does for the day. We're active in the sense that we do alot of things for our kids. Beach and going to friends houses.
My eating habits are as followed:
Breakfast-
coffee and yogurt
Lunch(if I remember to eat)-
Rice and Broccoli
Dinner-
usually whatever the rest of my family eats.

I try not to snack during the day cause I know that I may not stop at just one.

I hope to post here every day, but in being realistic, it's probably going to be like every 3rd day or so.
This is me as of today:

Any suggestions and comments welcome!

:waving:Hey there!!! Wanted to wish you the best of luck!!! You totally have this!!!

stay here on this forum and read other people's journals... thats what has helped me so far!!! :)

also, how tall are you?

Welcome to the forum!!:hurray:

My suggestion - for what its worth:

1200 calories are too low. Work out a better number to aim for.

Read up the section on nutrition. I am a bit concerned that you may not be getting enough protein. There doesnt seem enough unless you are having a lot of yoghurt (which would also sort out a possible low calcium)...

I also suggest that you make sure that you hit your fibre target - we really need to aim for at least 5-a-day with fruit/veg.

Plot with and be sure that you are hitting all the nutritional targets. There is so much more to good nutrition for weight loss than just counting calories...

Thanks guys....
M_Marie.. I'm 5'6"
Omega..I agree with you totally, but if I eat more, my body feels like I'm over eating. I don't like the way my body feels bloated when I eat closer to 1500 calories.

I've had a rough couple of days. Emotionaly, mentally and diet wise.
The story of why:
When I had my 6 week post partum check up with my OB-GYN, they give you an exam, all moms know this and some guys as well. Well my exam came back "faulty". I had to go in and have another exam. This was more of a biopsy, because I have abnormal cell growth. This exam was on Tuesday. Since then, I've been worried, scared and depressed. I didn't eat much on Tuesday. On Wednesday, I worked out for about an hour. Went and did some errands and then got a call from my doctor with my lab results back. Quick I know, but theres a reason for it. As it turns out, my abnormal cell growth was extensive so the results came back quickly with.....cervical cancer. Talk about a downer. I have to go in and have part of my cervix removed. So Wednesday night at diner, I pigged out. Just had a hard time dealing with it, so I resorted to that. Kept thinking... what if something goes bad????
Well I woke up this morning with a new look on things. I'm not going to let it get me down. I'm not going to let it get in the way of my goals. I'm going to look on the brighter side of things. I have my three kids. If I hadn't had my little girl, then I would never have known until it was possibily too late. So I call her my life saver now.
I didn't eat breakfast- bad I know, but I had two cups of coffee! LOL. I was busy trying to get ahold of my insurance company and the doctors office. No excuse, but it's the best I've got.
So for lunch, which I currently just ate, was a bowl of oatmeal and two pieces of wheat toast and a glass of lowfat milk. Calorie intake= 400 cal.
Before lunch I decided to walk to the library instead of driving there. It's such a beautiful New England summer day! Total distance is approx. 1.5 miles. I did this with my "life saver" attached to me. That's carrying an extra 12lbs.

My new outlook is so much better than it was before. I know that I can reach my goal even with hard obsticals in the way! :D
