AmyRB's Weight Loss Diary

jogging

Hey your diary is really motivating. Congrats on the 2 pound loss. I might be joining a group to start training for a 60 K walk on Vancouver Island. That will get my butt in gear! Keep up the good work, you're doing great.

I checked on fitday.com and "that" only burns 25 calories for a 45 minute session. I think fitday may be wrong.

Kelly, that 60K is a great idea. I am training for a 5K run in May. Watch out, it is really addictive. I ran my first 5k 6 years ago and HATED it. But after I was finished I had to try it again. It got to the point that I enjoyed my dialy runs. It's very meditative.

well far as i know doing "that" but really doing it hehehehe lol burns up to 450 cals in 30 minutes, and it does all muscle groups so use it as spare aerobics class lol and besides you can do it as many times as you want. plus i heard that orgasm is also great way to burning calories (so add that to those 450) so make your husband perform well :D

Now that sounds like a more accuate number. I didn't think Fitday.com was right either. I guess it all depends on the effort:D:D

Lol! Yeah, 450 sounds much more like it. There is no way it only burns 25 calories!

A New Me

Wow, it's been a long time since I have posted anything. I went to the doctor a couple of months ago and was diagnosed with mild postpartum depression which turned out wrong after a second opinion. I was however, suffering from a different form of depression, just not postpartum. The doc prescribed a low dose of Welbutrin which has helped me out quite a bit emotionally. Today I feel great and am looking forward to starting fresh. I also just found out a month ago that I do have hypothyroidism and have started taking herbal thyroid supplements. My throid levels are gradually rising now. I have hired a personal trainer and will be attending my first session tonight. I told her to make me cry. Lol! I am still jogging almost every day and doing pilates and I think the extra training will just help me lose the weight even faster. I am really looking forward to this. I have a goal to lose 6lbs by May 1st. My husband is getting promoted to a Major and I want to look decent in the picture. I want to lose 20lbs in 10 weeks and will be working my butt off to achieve this. I also run my first 5K race in May, so I definitely have something to motivate me. I will be checking this forum much more often now. It really helps me stay optimistic. Wish me luck!

nice to see you back and that you're taking care of yourself... drop on by anytime for a healthy dose of optimism - we'll do our best to suply it for you :)

I had my first session with the personal trainer on Friday. It was great. It's nice to actually be on the receiving end of the training. It's been five years since I was a trainer and this extra push and motivation is just what I needed to get my head on straight. She totally kicked my ass. One straight hour with my heart rate at it's max fat burning rate and no rest periods. I felt awesome when I left the gym. It really showed me just how out of shape I really am. I have a long way to go.
